That's quite pricey isn't it?
Telegram Sam
Meh, I suppose. Seems pricey to me but I'm a cheap-ass student.
K3V0
I shouldn't complain because two hours work a fortnight pays for my bus fare.
In saying that I remember when it cost me like $1.80 to get a return ticket.
Ninja
£4.20 in Norwich.
For a 2 mile journey, max.
K3V0
That seems really expensive.
Justicar
£4 for a day ticket in Bristol.
K3V0
So is that return all day??
My ticket is one way into the City, so it would cost me over $13 for a return, which is quite crazy for public transport.
Justicar
From my house into the center (20 minute journey without significant traffic) it would be 4 quid return, so you just buy a day ticket as its the same and you get unlimited travel for that day.

First bus? They are so shit, if they ran on time, I'd almost be ok about their extortion.

The Met's not great either.

Seems common sense to me to make buses to be free/very cheap to reduce congestion and pollution. Make buses a viable alternative to cars, rather than just for people who can't afford cars.

Mr Willy
But that means that local councils will have to further their subsidies for the bus companies, or take them over completely, which obviously costs money. They'd have to increase fees elsewhere, or put council tax up, and the car-drivers, or rich households in the nice parts of town, will object, saying that they don't use public transport, thus they shouldn't have to pay for other people's transport. It's what happened to 'Fare's Fair'.
Yeah we have Arriva here in Leicestershire. £2.70 to go three stops my arse.

Cool story bro. Thrilling. Really.
