This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, do NOT apply in FM Touch or in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2020 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed, such as Champions League, Europa League and Premier League displaying instead of EURO Cup, EURO Vase and Premier Division respectively. It will also fix the fact that the German and Japanese National teams don't call up real players and that the Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach managers have fake names. These are all fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for Brazilian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian (including Juventus) and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Brazilian clubs' text colours are also changed through an editor data file. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

This should be what your editor data folder looks like now. There may initially be a config.xml file in this folder and it can be safely overwritten; it is generated by FM every time the game starts.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, Japanese national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not immediately. Do keep in mind that this file does not add Japan-based players, who are not in the official database and will need a third-party add-on to be created and added.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.

You can find these folders by clicking, in the Finder, the Go menu in the menu bar, then choose Go to Folder and type the folder path name (obviously inserting your username), then click Go.
You can get to the Library folder by simply selecting Go from the top bar and holding "alt" key - The Library folder suddenly appears on the drop down
For Mac Lion users, the Library folder will be hidden. Use this link to find out how to show it.
For those struggling to find the Steam and Steam Apps folder etc using Mac with the new OS High Sierra, this link below shows how you can unhide your Library folder which will then let you find the other folders.

OK
But stadium.. ?
mons
There's a screenshot showing it as fixed
That particular fix, however, is NOT save-game compatible and I know of no way to do it if you've started your career other than possibly using an in-game editor. If you don't know what it is, where you can get it from or how to use it, Google will be your friend.

This file is the correct one for it, but changing Juventus' stadium name is not possible for FM Touch.
bigman1927
Udine stadium too ?
Thanks a lot!
mons
I think Udinese's stadium is fixed. As far as I can remember, it's only the Juventus stadium which has this issue. Try that file I linked to, and you can check for yourself
Joshw92
thanks
mons
Use the Unarchiver or a similar program to open the downloaded file, and take it from there
Joshw92
Done it thanks, however premier league still has previous style badges etc, juve and other leagues have worked?
mons
This file does not add any graphics at all. It's only to fix the things mentioned in the main part, mostly club and competition names. You'll need to download graphic packs to get the graphics.

I've always used this file but recently started a new save on 20.4.0 and didn't download the new updates from here.
A few months into my save I noticed the German NT didn't have any players/staff so just downloaded the new updates from here.
Will the German squad be populated next time there is a round of national fixtures or will they be missing until I start a new save?
mons
Bolded the answer for you, as per the main post
LBOW6
Ahhhh - thanks!

Keep in mind i'm testing on the Gamepass version of the game. There was an update which fixes the data update problems it had at launch so I'm looking to see what works now.
Yes, I'm speaking of a fresh start. Everything should be installed fine, I've done this many times before.
All Juve fixes work and the only things I've noticed yet which arent working if you use this version of the fix on Gamepass right now are:
-Brazil teams arent fixed,
-Germany and Japan NT's still without real players and coaches,
-Jleague 1&2 still "NIhon".
mons
This is the Gamepass version of this download, should solve those issue for you

Can I have just the code of these teams you've changed so I can see what might be the case with it?
cr1712
I've Attempted a fair few, some examples:
Jong AZ - 37060576
Jong Sparta - 37060577
Dinamo II - 24045851
AS Monaco 2 - 48038841
These are the names they are stuck at, It's weird because I managed to change the German Reserve Teams fine, and they're in the same situation as these ones...
mons
Can I have the file you've edited?
cr1712
I have Edited the Club Name Changes & the German Name Fixes
mons
Can I have the file you've edited please? I need to see exactly what changes you've made, where and how in order to be able to see why it's not working.
cr1712
I have added the club name changes file as an attachment... also created a dropbox of all the files. The only two I've touched are the Club Name Changes & German Name Fixes: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/3s817ned41meol0/AABibw6wkMn8LjRxqJuxCuvQa?dl=0

I've had a look and the changes seem fine in your file.
I've also had a quick look at the official SI bugs forum and it seems this is a known issue. I have some vague recollection this was the case way back and it seems like it hasn't been solved, and at this stage of the game's cycle, it won't be.
By way of a workaround, create an lnc file as outlined in the first post and make the club name changes in that way. This may also not work, but it's the only alternative to get them to do so...
cr1712
ahhh gotcha, no worries, thank you for having a look into it for me! Appreciate your work on the license fix, brilliant and essential file for any save!
mons
Welcome
If there are any changes you'd like to propose for future version of this file, do let me know. I can't know everything

P.S. I'm uncertain it's either this or Data Update files.
mons
This file does not any edit any players in that way so it'll be some other file.
Kos88
Sorry didn't see your reply. I've only added Sortitoutsi based Real name fixes and Data Changes, when I launch without them everything is fine. When I enable them the problem occurs. Guys in Data Update also mentioned that their files do not change player's DOB It's a mystery.
