It's a known issue with FM26 - read this. We're assuming this issue will get resolved in upcoming official patches/updates.
The new players were added before FM26 was released and didn't have the right UID yet. We've started the process of mapping them to the correct person's UID.
When you have a blank space instead of a cut-out, it means there is a config file pointing to a folder in which an image with that UID is not present. This generally happens when an update pack is installed in a separate folder and not part of the overall faces folder, or there is a rogue config file somewhere. It could also be that you have somehow not downloaded the full megapack but only part of it. Search within the graphics folder for the UID of this person, and you will probably find the secondary image. Delete that folder, and it should be fine.

In line with guidance on the official SI forums, At present, FM26 cannot handle multiple files with the same name. For example, if you have two files with the name "kit.png", it will not load both. and Player Faces: These work fine. You do not need the icon files anymore, and they can cause issues with the note above. Delete them.
As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍

You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.

The torrent file includes the base megapack uploaded just before that year’s FM version is released. Any and all subsequent update packs are to be downloaded separately.
For those who have never used torrents, in the vast majority of cases, it's just a question of downloading the client program (a small file, less than 1MB) and then downloading the megapack torrent file (a tiny file, around 20k) and then letting the program do the job.

Please report this so that they can be reuploaded. Since the files are hosted outside our pages, there isn't much we can do about this unfortunately. You could try downloading the pack via torrent and get it this way.

To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can.

You might have a poor internet connection or your browser might have some extensions which interrupt this download. Having loads of downloads ongoing and/or streaming may also de-prioritise this download.

Down the years, after an update pack was released, it was noted that some images included therein where of the wrong person, with a wrong extension or duplicated. Due to the way the download system is structured, these cannot be removed from the download, so there may well be a couple of hundred images’ worth of difference, depending on the version you download.
Our megapack covers 25,000 teams and it's impossible to cater for these kind of requests since players and staff get transferred or sacked or retire etc and recreating and reuploading 25,000 different smaller packs would be an impossible task. That's why we have all the images in a megapack so that everything is captured therein.
These persons do not appear in the default database for licensing reasons. This means that they only appear in your save-game because they were added via a custom file, generally the real name fix file. However, this means that their UID (which is what is used to map a person's image to the right individual) is different, and so the game cannot assign the image to them from your existing facepack.
To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

It's a licensing issue. Download this file (or the equivalent for your version of FM) to resolve it.

So I recently downloaded the mega face pack from sortioutsi, but when I try extracting the files it gives me an estimated time of between 90-226 hours. It is literally the only thing running on my pc and I shut down all background tasks so it would go faster but to no avail. At numerous points it just stops extracting altogether and the WinRAR app stops responding. I also tried using 7zip instead but the same problem. It went down to about 64 hours at some point but now it’s back up to over 120 hours left.
Its Windows 10 and I have over half a TB of free space left.
Does anyone have a solution or advice?

Adding to what @weeniehutjr posted, what version did you download for you not to have any config file at all?
How many images do you have in your faces folder? Are they all in one main folder or do you have sub-folders as well? Screenshots would help.

Think i have solved it now. only question i have is why there are a lack of PL Player faces in the Main 15GB megapack?

I'm afraid it looks like you must not have installed it correctly. All Premier League teams have cut-outs for the full squads, including all but a handful of youngsters in most cases. Most Championship, League 1 and League 2 teams have faces from the default installation, which is why you may have thought it's working fine. Checking Juventus and other Italian teams to see if the players there have cases, for example.

I can't remember but it could well be that the .PNG's were added initially. FM doesn't read PNG's but only png's (don't ask me why) and so when this issue was spotted, these 2 cuts (and maybe more) were added to the megapack in png format to ensure they are visible in-game. Certainly nothing to worry about
Missing images are not added only if they are completely unsuitable; we're talking a small handful a year really. With regards to improvements, I check and compare them all to see whether they are of better quality than the current cut, but the vast majority do get added. Of course, there may be a small number which escaped my notice, but we're talking a couple or so every pack, really.
You should have one folder for faces and one folder for icons, each of which should not have sub-folders. Essentially, if you're not sure what you're doing, you should the below:
a) Open the faces folder in the downloaded file, copy all the files in there and paste them into your megapack/faces folder
b) Open the icons folder in the downloaded file, copy all the files in there and paste them into your megapack/icons folder
In both cases, you should be prompted to overwrite files - accept.
That's it, it's really rather simple.

You need to download all update packs from 12.01 to 12.12 to be fully up-to-date.
In addition to my above answer, you've either not installed it right (you should have 264,000+ images in your faces folder, and no sub-folders therein) or you need to make sure that the preferences are as per the opening post of this thread.

They're displayed near the player name at the top of the menu displayed when you right-click on a player. It's a smaller version of the cut-out displayed in that particular area online in-game as far as I can tell.

If you're having persistent issues with internet connectivity, with regular disconnections, I suggest using Google Chrome to download it. With it, it should be possible to resume the download from the point where it was interrupted, rather than downloading it again from scratch.
