Hi @mons and colleagues - Thanks for all you do to make FM a better experience for us. Can I ask what @Footygamer did to compress the pack from 22GB+ to less than 15GB? Were duplicate images removed or has a higher/better compression method been used?

Just asking out of interest as 22+ to less than 15GB is a pretty impressive reduction in file size however it was done! 

Hi @mons after downloading the 15gb torrent file, the winrar app asked me to overwrite already existing files. Once the file is unpacked I find myself
331,544 iconfaces and 331,552 faces. is this correct? Thanks again for the great work

Having downloaded this pack for years and years I was surprised by the reduction in size. Pleasently, of course, but surprised. Well done!

is this the new update with new player faces in fm22? or just a coincidence that both dropped on the same day?

We always aim to have the base pack out before the beta drops. This year, we did so on the same day but it's pure coincidence. We aim to have an update pack out including cuts for players newly-added to FM22 before the full game is released on 9 November.

I downloaded yesterday but hadn't installed. I just scanned the file with Bitdefender and it's clean for me.

I believe there are cases of false positives with Wacatac.B!ml

I'm afraid not. If you're playing FM22, you only need the most recent one anyway.

I haven't started a save with FM22 yet but just looking around the game in Polish leagues it seems to include some faces that look more recent than the facepack. I guess there isn't a way of keeping more recent faces already in the game? Cheers

Yeah, sure.

As above we have managed to compress all the images in the pack this year. It is possible that this has resulted in some loss of quality, so it's now possible to compare the compressed version with the original.

e.g. if you look at the Active Troy Deeney Cut  you'll have a new option to “Compare Compression”

This will take you to a page where you can compare the two images by sliding an icon in the centre of the image left or right.

Sometimes the icon will appear in the top left instead of the centre and won't work. If this happens simply refresh the page and it should be fine.

I don't plan on spending any more time improving this feature as I don't expect it to be used very often, but if you do have any feedback or ideas please let me know 🙂

This will only work on active images in the pack that say “In Megapack” in blue.

I can't find who requested it, but it's in the backlog.

Now when you view the Cut Out Submission Queue you can filter by “Game Item”, which will filter in the following ways:

• If you search for a person it will find submissions for just that person
• If you search for a club it fill will find submissions for any person contracted to that team
• If you search for a competition it fill will find submissions for any person contracted to a team in that competition

Can I install the new cut out faces megapack? Heard some rumours it has viruses included.

I heard rumours that United were going to give us a hard time yesterday, but that's more likely than this file having viruses.

How do I request a pack?

We have a submission forum here. If the image is smaller or of a lower quality than what is currently in the megapack, then it might well not be considered as an improvement. Whether the image is recent or not is not the most important criterion. If you're not sure that the image(s) you're requesting are good enough, look at the player's timeline to see what the current cut is and when it was produced.

You can also have a look at this thread to find hints and tips of how to find the best possible sources for your request 👍

Update pack 22.01 is now available for download, containing 5,555 new or improved cut-outs.

It takes the total megapack image count to 334,447 and adds a multitude of players new to FM22, including several wonderkids.
