German media saying Chelsea are offering De Bruyne + cash for Andre Schurrle apparently.

What's with Chelsea's obsession with Schurrle?

I'm sure he's good and all, but he would be very far down on my list of German's I would want to sign.

Edit: Ok, not THAT far down, but still wouldn't be first choice.

I can't see Dortmund or Munich willing to sell Gotze, Reus or Kroos.

I just hope they don't go for Draxler, Chelsea would probably ruin him.

Out of the first three, only Reus could be useful because we need a striker and he can play there but he isn't the top of striker that you need in the PL so we won't get him (probably). Not sure where Draxler plays but for some reason I remember that he is also an attacking mid?

Schurrle can play striker, which is what we need but is her as good as we need?

Schurrle's similar to Reus. He can play as a striker but he tends to play on the left-wing cutting inside.

Then he is definitely not what we need! The trio of Hazard - Mata - Oscar works well and if one of them is out he could easily be replaced by one of these: De Bruyne (Next season), Marin (Not been too good), Moses (Been really good) and soon maybe even Piazon who could also cover for ST!

We only really need a striker, hopefully Torres will leave next season and we should have Ba and Lukaku which in theory could be enough but Ba hasn't really been consistent but I have faith and Lukaku is still young and hopefully he stays clear of injury (touch wood)! Get a striker who can score on consistent basis and we have what could possibly become the best attack in the league!

Falcao to Chelsea seems pretty likely. Either way, seems unlikely that you're going to be without a proper main striker next season.

There's no chance we'll pay 17m for Andy Carroll.

I'd say £12m is a fair price. Liverpool's bargaining position is severely weakened by the fact their intent to sell is known by all, and when you factor in his injuries this season, he might not go for any more than that. He could still prove to be a very good Premier League striker if he can stay fit and finds himself at the right club, so I reckon he's worth a punt for the right price.

That seems a more reasonable price.

I hope we get him cheaper than that if we are interested. He would be second fiddle to Cisse and given how we play now in the 4-2-3-1 the majority of the time he probably wouldn't be a starter for us. He needs a system built around him being the target man, West Ham are a pretty good fit for him really.

He is. It's easy to forget how good he was at Newcastle, and really has just suffered from a huge price tag being held over his head, a manager who showed no faith in him and a few injuries. He's only 24 and if he can stay fit he's certainly capable of scoring 15-20 goals a season. Definitely worth a punt in my eyes.

He had 6 good months in the Premier League at Newcastle, lets not get carried away with how good he was just because Liverpool spunked silly money on him.

If he stays fit and if you build a team around him he might do alright, but for me that's not worth £12m.

True, but I think he showed in that brief period what a good player he can be. He had a great season in the Championship before that and has shown glimpses of his potential since he left Newcastle - I think he just needs a club to take a chance on him and a prolonged period of first team football. £35m was obviously a ridiculous amount of money to spend on him but I think that he's shown enough potential to be worthy of a £12m price tag.

I really can't see him coming back to Newcastle. Especially with Liverpool being committed to ask for silly money for him. Reckon even at a more reasonable price of £8m-£12m - Newcastle would fancy taking a punt on someone from the continent instead.

Carroll only really had a good 12 months at Newcastle, the calendar year of 2010, where he stepped up from squad player and scored loads of goals, and was then sold.

Also the idea that a team has to be 'built' around Carroll is a bit of a myth, Newcastle was never built around Carroll.

Cisse has been pretty gash this season. I'd definitely have Carroll ahead of him.

Cisse was played out of position to accommodate Demba Ba until January.

Since Ba's left he's been back upfront and scoring regularly.

Remy looks good? Dunno how much he'd cost though, or whether a bigger club may go for him.

And although Neville's getting on, Big Sam's pretty good with getting the best out of players coming towards the end of their career. Hierro, Djorkaeff, Salgado etc.

Loic Remy is better than all of your current strikers easily, and he's probably got a release clause in his contract a la Demba Ba.
