What a time for that news to break (if true), right before their two CL semi's this week.

Guardiola will be inheriting one hell of a team in the summer. (Again, if it's true!)

Judging by the language that Bild are using (as in its a done deal) and their pretty well known ties to Bayern it looks very likely.

Perfect moment to announce that, Bayern. Perfect!
Bayern should better be keeping an eye on their in-trouble president than trying to make a young player a hate target for his own fans in his own stadium before the biggest game of his career...
The common fansites are already filled with hate , labelling him a "traitor" and so on.
Pretty sure he will crumble on wednesday for he is not known for his good nerves. Klopp shouldnt let him play imo.
Thank you, Bayern. Thank you for ruining our CL final dream. I truly hate you.

Anyway IF thats true, then welcome Edin Dzeko to the Westfalenstadion

Martinez, Scweinsteiger, Kroos, Ribery,Muller, Gotze (as a false 9)?

Gomez and Robben to leave. Not sure where it would lead Mandzukic though. He's been brilliant this season.

Fingers crossed Heynckes to Newcastle in the summer and he brings Mandzukic with him.

Yeah , Gomez and Robben got no future at Bayern anymore, so off with them.
Pretty sure now Bayern will make a move for Hummels as well soon

Well, those were nice 3 past seasons. We will remember them in 20 years time because from now on its mediocrity again.

Martinez, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Gotze, Muller, Mandzukic would be my guess with a very fluid 3 behind Mandzukic

I know Gotze plays as a false 9 for Germany, but it's surely a huge gamble on him becoming massively more prolific to play him like that at club level atm.

Heynckes always fancies Spain anyway. he knows the spanish language perfectly, has got a residence there and wouldnt have to adapt having worked there for quite some time. england would be a bit far fetched tbh. he doesnt need a "challenge" anymore in his age and he doesnt need any money anymore either. so if he ever goes into a job again, it will be in germany (some club in the Niederrhein area where he originates from) or spain.

Wow. Didn't see this coming at all.

£32m.

Christ Bayern are going to be even better next season, imagine if Lewandowski joins too.

German football would be such a better place without Bayern Munich.

They are a cancer.

then again, you could say the same about city in english football.
in terms of buying players from same division clubs to make them weaker because they got all the money they dont differ too much.
or what is it why you label them "cancer"?

It's kinda overstated though, all clubs do it.

Would United or City become a cancer if they bought Bale?

It just is a fact of football, always has been.

Bayern have done nothing wrong; I'm disappointed in Götze though.

For all that City are supposedly 'bad for football' we've never gone right out and bought our nearest rival's best player. Bayern do that on a regular basis. They consistently undermine the overall quality of German football in a bid to remain the dominant force. Neither City or Chelsea - or United at the height of their spending - have done that in the same way in England.

On the upside, at least Dortmund can now afford Edin Dzeko.

They dont undermine the overall quality of German football at all. Almost every german player they bought already was or went on to become a national team player.
Exeptions like Rau, Sternkopf, Baumjohann or Schlaudraff just confirm the rule. Those were just not good enough , neither for Bayern, nor for the NT. Just look where they ended up.
They weaken their rivals, thats obvious. But not the NT.

Not to the same extent, though, I mean once or twice, yeah shit happens but Bayern actively seek to weaken their rivals whilst strengthening themselves. I realise that's an entirely logical business plan but it isn't good for domestic football in Germany. It means that a club that is already way ahead of every other club in Germany in financial terms is able to consistently weaken any other challengers. Unless Bayern collapse in truly spectacular fashion, it's just going to result in more domestic campaigns like this year's where there is no real competition for the title because nobody can come close to matching Bayern's resources. Legal or not, that isn't good for the Bundesliga.

That was poorly-phrased on my part, I didn't mean the national-team, I meant German domestic football - i.e. the Bundesliga.

De Bruyne and Aubameyang are in the mix now as well.

I would class Dortmund as the biggest 'cancer' in German football. - Bayern have produced Lahm, Kroos, Schweinsteiger, Alaba, Badstuber which is a reasonable chunk of their first team squad. Plus Contento, Emre Can and Hojbjerg. The players Bayern have purchased have been brought in have often been quite expensive. Dortmund can at least do something with the £32m

Dortmund signed most of their squad from lesser German sides - Subotic, Sven Bender, Leitner, Gundogan, Reus, Scheiber, Piszczek. (And they signed Hummels aswell) And I doubt they paid well for most of them.

Any chance of Draxler going to Dortmund? Or Shurrle or Herrmann?

The difference here is, Dortmund didnt weaken potential rivals (Mainz? 1860? Stuttgart? Hertha? You gotta be kidding) in contrast to Bayern (Klose, Ismael, Pizarro (Werder at that time), Ballack (Leverkusen at that time), Baumjohann (Schalke at that time) etc.)
Draxler?? LOL
Schürrle is going to Chelski.
Herrmann is most likely.
Christian Eriksen is in the mix now as well.

Legal or not, that isn't good for the Bundesliga.

What about City signing Milner, Nasri, Adebayor, Kolo Toure, Barry, Clichy, Tevez?

United signing Young, Valencia, Carrick, Rooney, RVP (probably the best example of the lot), Ferdinand?

Clubs buy players that improve them, they're attracted to players that play in the league for obvious reasons, it's not an inherent tactic to weaken every other club to ensure a hegemony in the league, it's just buying good players who will improve their team.

Bayern have done nothing wrong, Dortmund put a release class in Götze's contract, Bayern met it and Götze wanted to leave. Are they supposed to turn down the chance to sign arguably the most talented German of the generation and potentially one of the worlds best because of a perceived deliberate monopoly of Bundesliga players? It's a nonsense.

Besides, talent like Götze staying in the Bundesliga is better for the Bundesliga, even if its concentrated in Bravaria, than him leaving the country to play for a foreign team (a la Ozil, Khedira et al.) but I imagine had it of been us, you, Madrid or Barca that had met his release clause we would have seen far less outrage at those clubs actions.
