Manager profile pic after latest update

So after the new data update I can't seem to get my own picture in the game when starting a new save. I know there's other players having the same issue. I was wondering if there was some whiz kid who knows of another way to load your pic into the game?

SI know about this error, whether they do anything about it is another thing.

Just a thought and haven't tried this myself yet. When you generate yourself in-game and select a team, after the initial load up, go to yourself and make sure personal id's are showing for skinning. Make a note of the 7 or whatever digit number. 

Select an image of yourself, close up  heads shot and save it as a .png file and give it the file personal id, ie: 14358684.png (as an example).

Place it in the players heads area of your file route. Use something like fm.XML to make the config file. 

Refresh the skin in-game and see if your head pic turns up. I may try it for myself in a few mins and will let you know if it works. Short-term fix as every new save may well generate a new unique id number for you as manager.

Ahhh annoyingly that didn't work, so save yourself the bother. I think they will release a fix for this (same as last year). Annoying I know but I don't think there is a work-around.

Yeah no worries at all. They always release a minor update after a major one, I would imagine it's a easy fix from there end. Let's hope they release an update next week or that.

I don't understand why something that's worked in the previous updates no longer works in this update. There's a saying if it ain't broken don't fix it.

Annoying that need to wait for the next update which will be in the middle of March for this to be fixed. I hope they release a minor update within the next few days.

I know the second winter update last year which included the Russian and Chinese transfers was released on 15th March. So we might be looking at something similar this year. I really do hope they do release a minor update next week.

well they said they will look into it,but there's about 5 persons that stated the issue in the bug forum at SIgames.

So either we get an minor update next week or middle Marts I think.

I have the same problem ! Hopefully this will be fixed as soon as possible...

If the generated managers and players didn't look so terrible it wouldn't be an issue. But the lack of real pictures really detracts from the immersion. I hope they fix this odd bug soon.

i agree a cartoon face as manager is very poor

i uploaded an image to their forum, they took it down as I showed rabcps adboards in the image 😂

the game is a big database that relies on 3rd part mods that are better than SI’s own staff

i have bought the game since the original domark game, that was the only one without real names, but the game was so different we lived with it.

the licensing will only get worse in years to come I’m afraid as there is no competition, which is a big surprise

we need another game to keep SI on their toes

SI have become complacent, lazy and arrogant. The line I've seen taken by Miles has often been “Don't like it, build your own game” The lack of decent competition in the genre has harmed it no end.

As you say, we only really buy the database. Almost everything else that goes into the game; kit, face, logo, tweaks and fixes are all fanmade and the game is unplayable, immersion wise, nowadays without it. Even Zeeland's newgan pack has become essential as the regens seem to get worse with each iteration. The fan made stuff really does blow the half assed attempts by SI out of the water.

i think miles is a lazy bum, the game hasnt improved at all the last few years which always makes me think why i buy it in the first place.

i dont like miles and i think hes the root to the problem. if there was a competitor in this field who would remotely challenge FM, id probably be playing that. FM is soulless, its the same thing every year.. theres no drama, no suspense, no new stories or unexpected events.. its just so politically corrected lol.. dunno just my thoughts.

It's been raised already in the same forum a few times before, and SI have stated they're working on resolving it.

I think it might be end of the month before we see an update. I think Miles posted something on Twitter on the 2nd March about a delay, then again on the 10th this must take into account what's happening at Chelsea. I believe there's a link on Steam in which you can view the progress of the update

dont think there is any update on when there will be a patch, it could be much later than usual

Try this fix from Xande_nojosa this was on SI Forum 

Guys, first I'm sorry for my bad English. But I found a way to put the photo in the manager.

1 - When creating a manager, in the part of putting the information, just skip to the team choice.

2 - When the teams appear, go to preferences and put the photo of your manager.

3 - After it has loaded, go back on the upper left button to put information about the manager. The name will likely be blank and other random information.

4 - Finally, put what you want and proceed to save the game.

I just created Erik ten Hag, at the wrong age, but it was a test.

It worked for me, I had to create an account here to share this information and I hope it helps you guys.

@McG84 I had published a message because it didn't work for me despite ten attempts and then finally it ended up working, I had to delete my manager profile and recreate a new one for it to work! Thanks very much

Following on from what Xande_nojosa wrote.

I play with Flut skin, I was unable to add a new manager and I deleted my profile. So what I did was reverted back to the normal skin and that allowed me to create a new profile after that it's a case of following the steps as Xande_Nojosa has put down. Once you pick your team and save then you can use whatever skin you used previously.

You need to start a new save and create a new profile. I followed the steps that xande_nojosa had provided and it works. If anyone knows how to add a picture without starting a new save and profile then please let us know.
