I would like to change the number of caps and goals of a player on the national team. Could you tell me which file from the updated .fmf files in the downloaded folder should I edit using the pre-game editor?
Thank you.
NTFM
@Footygamer all the loans are ending in may 2022 when i load up a new save
Footygamer
Anyone else have that same problem? I can't get to a computer today.
But I can assure you nothing has changed code wise in a week
The update modifies all dates by 1 year, so loans are supposed to be ending in 2022 👍
NTFM
last month all the loans were ending in 2023 for me so im confused
We implemented it on the 25th of July. If you want a version without that change, you'd have to download one from before that date: https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update/releases/13

Not criticizing your decision or trying to talk shit about the very hard work you guys do for us for free, but this change makes the update almost unplayable for those who play in Brazil, that's one of the biggest communities in FM, since our season starts Jan '22 and most of the loans are ending even before the season starts, and our window just closed, so the 25th of July update is missing a lot of the big recent transfers in Brazil.
It would be awesome for us if we could have an option with the way it was before 25th of July, even if it's not daily updated, but with the latest transfers that happened before the window was closed.
No you're making a fair point, it's just that it takes a lot of time to create all these sorts of alternative versions. Maybe @Footygamer can have a look at it, otherwise we'll be sure to improve it next year.
Footygamer
How does the normal game work for Brazil? Don't short term loans get terminated?
Sorry, it's been a while since I played Brazil.
@Footygamer For the loans: It's pretty often that it's not 100% actually. In bigger competitions like the Premier league even young players are on huge wages, and if they get loaned to smaller clubs they will never be able to fully pay them.
Just an example here, this is a club playing European football, but the loan player literally earns half their wage budget. So if you put 100% they will really get in trouble.
gustavomrb
The problem with the change is that loans on brazilian clubs are ending even before the season starts or at most 6 months into the season. I'll give you an example:
Yuri Alberto (Zenit) to Corinthians (or loan from Russian/Ukrainian club to Brazil) - The loan is set to end at 06/23 in real life, while in the update it's ending at 06/22, only 6 months into the season.
Luan (Corinthians) to Santos - The loan is set to end at 01/23 in real life, while in the update it's ending at 01/22, even before the start of the season.
And i believe this problem will happen not only in Brazil, but in every country that starts its season in 22.
Footygamer
@gustavomrb And how does FM handle that? Like if you start with Brazil in FM23 will you start in January 2023 with Yuri Alberto on loan until June 2023 or will it do something else?
I was under the impression it would be the same.
gustavomrb
In FM23 he will be on loan until Jun 23, on par with real life, but that's how it's supposed to be, because the season start for Brazil in FM23 will be Jan ‘23. You made the change thinking of the new european season, that just started, but here in Brazil we're still mid-season, 6 months “late” from Europe.
Footygamer
Sorry i'm not quite following.
I'll try and lay it out as clearly as possible.
FM22 Brazil: Starts January 2022
Our Data Update: Yuri Alberto is on loan until June 2022 - He is on loan for 6 months
FM23 Brazil: Will start January 2023
FM23 Data: Yuri Alberto will be on loan until June 2023 - He is on loan for 6 months
You: There's a problem with Yuri Alberto, he is only on loan for 6 months
I don't see the problem?
Are you saying you want him to be on loan for 18 months?
Incase it's not clear, with our Data Update we try and update the game as if FM23 had been released. If you think the update should be organised in another way it's not quite clear what it is you're asking for.
Are you using the start date file or the future update or something other than just the default transfer update?
@Footygamer Can you make a button here that lets you delete the date with 1 click? Because now you have to click on it 3 times and press delete 3 times
gustavomrb
"Incase it's not clear, with our Data Update we try and update the game as if FM23 had been released." That's exactly what the change was, but In Brazil we're still in "FM22 window”, not in FM23, unlike Europe, that already started a new season.
But I understand your point and it's about design. I'm just stating that the majority of the brazilian community will stop using the update every year from the day you make this change until the release of the next FM.
Footygamer
But you've said the data update is “almost unplayable” but it's exactly how FM23 will be when it's released in 7 or so weeks. Is FM almost unplayable in Brazil when it's first released?
I feel like there's still some idiosyncrasy of the Brazilian community that I'm still missing and you're not communicating, either that or it's just your niche personal preference.
Either way I do want to bring out multiple data updates which will include without the years changed I just haven't had time.

I wanted to do a save as fiorentina but the new signings, Jovic and Dodo are unable to be registered due to the Non-EU player registration rules. Is there any way around this?
Is it because they are already on their maximum? Can you make a screenshot of it? Registration rules can be edited, but I don't know if that would be a good thing to do.
TheMinsterman
It may be tied to the joined dates of the previous Non-EU players from last two windows, they'd need to be removed or backdated in that case.
To all, please avoid using https://www.footballdatabase.eu/en/ as a source, they seem to add some transfers that aren't fully confirmed yet.
Biggeeder
Yes they are at their maximum non-EU slots for that season, but obviously Jovic and Dodo are for the season to come.
Yeah that makes sense. @TheMinsterman You talk about backdating, would it be possible for to change the join date for all players with 1/7/2021 to 1/7/2020? Then it should work right?
TheMinsterman
Yes, as long as the game doesn’t believe they just joined (which is from the part of the contract data) they should therefore already be registered and not interfere with the new ones.
@Footygamer Can you have a look at this when you have the time?
@Biggeeder If you want to start a new save now, you can also just change it for those Fiorentina players in the pre-game editor yourself. Do you know how that works?
Biggeeder
I dont know but I'd love to learn.
Footygamer
This is in now.
Loan wages have also been removed and will be removed in the next update that runs tonight.
Footygamer
We should try to avoid editing things like join dates in the extra files. I can't fully tell what's needed in this case though as i'm not really familiar with these rules.
TheMinsterman
If we can do it on the site I’d recommend doing it that way.
Essentially whichever non-eu players joined the club in January or last summer would need their joined club date backdating by one year so that in theory the game doesn’t think they joined in the first in game summer so you can register the new non-eu signings.
Open steam and make sure that ‘tools' is enabled here. You should then have ‘Football Manager 2022 Editor' somewhere in the list.
With that you can basically edit anything you want. This guy has a pretty helpful playlist that explains how everything works:
