If Moyes is not, who else?

Why not a 51-year-old former West Ham and Southampton manager that is currently 999/1 on Betfair? Take him. We don't mind.

In all seriousness, I'd be surprised if Moyes didn't move tbh. But stranger things - hell I thought this "next MUFC manager" debate wouldn't be needed for another year or two at least.

The Times: "David Moyes will be named as the new manager of Manchester United in the next 24 hours. The Barclays Premier League champions have agreed to appoint the Everton manager as Sir Alex Ferguson’s replacement at Old Trafford."

Kagawa probably won't like Moyes very much.

Gonna be weird for every football fan without Ferguson at United - so can't even imagine how weird it'll be for United fans. When I was born he was already in his 7th year at OT, and 7 years in itself is a long stint for a manager at one club nowadays. Remarkable manager.

Seems like everything's pointing towards Moyes.

Does requestion permission to speak with managers the same as players or can you just go ahead without the club knowing? Because the managerial decision would of been made before fergie retired and Everton stated that have let Moyes speak with United or something along those lines.

Moyes' contract is up at the end of the season so they can probably do what they like in this instance.

Sky Sports News do my head in. They ran with the whole 'Moyes has left the training ground story', before then debunking any rumours he was heading to Manchester by saying he was going down to London to watch the Chelsea game as Everton play them on the final day. Despite this, they've continued to speculate about what Moyes leaving the training ground means despite the fact they already know.

Odds of 1,000/1 on Howard Webb being named the next United manager.

True, but it's still massive news.

I've never known another Manchester United manager just like most on here, that's strange in modern football and it's shocking how quickly it all happened.

I'm actually starting to warm to the idea of Moyes.

I think Fergie will stay pretty involved in a DoF sort of role, so it's not going to be a complete break from Fergie but much less intensive for him.

I still have the obvious reservations that he won't be given the time by the fans, so it will take a good start to give him a fighting chance and I'm disappointed that its going to pave the way for Mourinho to Chelsea and probably spell the end of Ronaldo ever coming back but I guess those are the harsh realities of life.

If Moyes managed 3rd next year and maybe wins a trophy then I think that's an achievement and a good start, I don't think we'll get instant success

Really? One of my reservations about Moyes was that I was looking forward to a couple of exciting signings, and now I can't see much happening at all.

My biggest concern too.

Think we'll get Fellaini now and, errm, no one.

Edit:
stat against Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and United away

Played 50
Won 0
Draw 18
Lost 32

And back to depression I guess.

Might genuinely cry if you lot get Mourinho.

Imagine if he did and signed Lampard on a free.
