If you are playing an FM23 save in FM24, then this fix needs to be also installed in the below folders:
If you have any issues, first read the FAQ.
This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, do NOT apply in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2024 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed, such as Premier League displaying instead of Premier Division. It will also fix the fact that the German National team doesn't call up real players. These fixes are all fully save-game compatible.
The following are not included in the beta version of this file. There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for Brazilian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian (including Napoli) and French clubs, as well as Manchester Utd, to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Brazilian clubs' text colours are also changed through an editor data file. Another editor data file creates the Ajax non-playing staff missing from the database due to licensing restrictions. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.
Follow the below instructions to install this version of this file
STEP 1.

Alternatively you can get to the Library folder by simply selecting Go from the top bar and holding "alt" key - The Library folder suddenly appears on the drop down menu
For Mac Lion users, the Library folder will be hidden. Use this link to find out how to show it.
For those struggling to find the Steam and Steam Apps folder etc using Mac with the new OS High Sierra, this link below shows how you can unhide your Library folder which will then let you find the other folders.

This should be what your editor data folder looks like now. There may initially be a config.xml file in this folder and it can be safely overwritten; it is generated by FM every time the game starts.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to English Premier Division in your saved game, and it should be renamed to Premier League. If you are in the middle of a save-game when you install this download, German national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not immediately.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.
The final version of this download for the default database can be downloaded from here.

Well yes, but last year when there was a new patch the real name fix stopped working and you had to re-apply the updated one and it was all fine. Wondering if that's the case with going from FM23 to FM24
bigpole
When new patch comes out, you always need to reapply the fix. It always has been this way.
Please read the opening post, because everything is explained there.
This may very well be the case if I'd already started the save on FM23 before applying the real name fix, but I didn't. Unless of course, porting the save from FM23 to FM24 counts as an already started save, which is not mentioned in the original post that you seem to be referencing. I must add that I'd be much easier for you and me to just explain this and not simply direct me to the original article.

Great work, thank you.
Anyway, in the version 2.0 and 2.1 there is some mistake in the colours fix of some brazilian team of 3rd division, like Paysandu (that actually has red colour for letters and white for background, instead of white and light blue) and other teams also. The brazilian fix in the version 1.1, instead, had all the team with correct colours, I'm still using that file from 1.1 for brasilian teams. Anyway, thank you, ciao 😉.
Obviously I've done all that, I'm not daft I know how to read 😂😂😂 I made my post because I'd done all this and Portugese names and Napoli are still incorrect. That's what I said at the start.
mons
@Jamaicaman90, for any future changes you may wish to make 😉
The more info you provide, the better, because it'll help us get to the root of the problem. This is the first you're mentioning the bit in bold 😉
You need to apply the workaround in the first post.
bigpole
I think Portuguese and napoli name are in inc files, so you need to reapply this version once again.

@mons i love your real name! thank you
south korea d3 k3league name error

Not sure how that sneaked in, will fix it for the next release.
In the meantime, open the Competitions and other Fixes.lnc file with Notepad, and edit that line in the Korea section 🍻

I noticed in my save that Superettan (Sweden) have “D2” as it´s 3 letter name in the editor data file. This should be changed to “S”.

For some reason, this year, the fix doesn't change Parthenope. In fact, I'm unable to even do so with the Editor.
mons
Changed it to SE 👍
There's a screenshot in the main post which demonstrates this is not the case. Without knowing more about what you've installed and where, I can't really tell where you're going wrong.
Greg Brooking
Hi, thanks for your reply. I've followed the install instructions to a T and the Premier League and, I think, all other changes are correct. Unfortunately, Napoli is still wrong. I even changed Napoli in the editor to make it, well, “Napoli,” and the game still has them as Parthenope. I have installed SIOSI faces, kits, and logos.
I changed Parthenope in Editor and click save as and hit enter, but it doesn't save it. I opened it back up and we're back to Parthenope.
mons
You don't have an editor data file loaded and the name isn't saved at all in the first screenshot, so it's no wonder it isn't working. Can I have screenshots of your lnc folder and your editor data folder?
I also see you've started a save game already. For club name changes to be effected in an existing save game, you have to do the workaround in the first post.
Greg Brooking
Thanks for your reply and assistance.

Can I see the full path of each of the 2 folders?
Been pointed out already a few days ago, and will be fixed in the next update 👍
Can you show the editor data folder too (including the full path)? And did you install the fix after having started a career?

Hello! I've been using this name fix since the beta, and it works well. However, yesterday I decided to downgrade my FM24 to version 24.0 and when I started a new save, while the award, competition, and Brazilian names still worked well but the Ajax staffs and the names of Italian and Spanish clubs didn't change. Why is that? If the fix is to use v1.0 since I'm using v2.0 of this name fix, could you provide the link to download previous versions of this name fix? Thank you in advance.
mons
Do you have the editor data files in place?
RPPMUFC1878
Yeah, I followed all the instructions, and as I said before, it worked perfectly before. The issue only occurs when I downgrade my FM24 using these depot and manifest IDs on the Steam console and create a new save. I'm trying to use the previous version of this name fix to see if it can resolve the issue. However, since there is no link to download the older version of the name fix, like how Sortitoutsi provides for facepack and logopack, it would be highly appreciated if you could provide me with one.
mons
I've never heard of this method, and I'm not sure what it'll achieve tbh.
Irrespective of that, using v2.1 of this fix will nonetheless work with previous versions of FM24 no problem. In fact, some of the editor data files haven't been changed since v1.
Can I have screenshots of the folders in the main post as they are on your system? Showing clearly the full path.
RPPMUFC1878
I know this from the other Sortitoutsi thread (https://sortitoutsi.net/content/62758/downgrade-fm23-to-patch-2310), and it works.
Yeah, that's why I'm confused as well. But when you downgrade FM version, fmf files that were created by the latest version won't work, like tactic and save files. Maybe that has something to do with why the name fix doesn't work.
mons
Frankly, I don't think that's my problem or has anything to do with this download tbh 😕
That's not the default folder for editor data files. Have you changed the user data folder?

@mons , does the new update affect the patch, will the patch be update too, or just reapply it? Thanks for your amazing work
