Monaco are apparently also closing a deal for Nicolas Isimat-Mirin from Valenciennes.

Yes, because Russian billionaires usually shell out lots of money for something just to give it away a year later.

It's because of his third party ownership.

Correction, they're getting a lot of class players, but that doesn't make a team. QPR for example.

I might be wrong, and they win the league next year, but I hope they don't.

Oh and Suarez can fuck off.

You're working under the assumption Monaco haven't bought all of his rights.

They are the only club that want him, that can buy them all. If it wasn't for that, he'd be going straight to Real.

(Don't know what has been going on with me this summer. I've been arguing with people that said Ferguson wasn't the greatest manager of all time, and now I'm criticising a Liverpool player?)

It's got to be one of the biggest summers in football, ever.

This 'Falcao will go to Madrid next year' story is exactly the same thing as the 'Agüero will go to Madrid within 3 years' that was flying around when he joined City, and he's just signed a new contract.

If Suarez goes to Madrid and does well they don't really need Falcao next season.

But Man City were challenging for the top honours, do you think Monaco will be?

I think they'll almost certainly be competing with PSG next year and then will be a decent force in Europe the season after, yes.

If that's enough to interest players is impossible to say.

Jesus Navas to City looks to be getting done as well, good signing and exactly what they need.

I really didn't think I could hate Luis Suarez more, or feel any sympathy for Liverpool, but both have happened today. I really cannot stand the fact he's consistently making himself out to be the victim. Don't want criticism from the press? Then don't dive all of the time, consistently make dirty tackles, racially abuse other players and bite them. If he wasn't such a despicable player then the press wouldn't keep going after him, and the back pages would be all about his talent rather than all of the things he complain about. Liverpool have put so much on the line in order to keep him sweet and he's repaid them by publicly announcing his desire to leave. It's pathetic.

I'm almost certain the victim stuff he's pulling came from Dalglish's handling of the Evra situation.

I'm not so sure he's actually playing a card so to speak as just being so thick as to believe what he was told back then, it's not the first time he's blamed the media for everything.

Perhaps. Part of me thinks blaming the media is just a way of hiding the fact he wants to leave Liverpool because he's too good for them - which he is, in terms of talent alone - and rather than burn all bridges with the fans by saying he wants to leave for footballing reasons, he's instead tried to push much of the blame on the media. The sad fact is there will be a lot of Liverpool fans who'll vent their frustration at the press and still consider Suarez as the victim in this whole saga.

Really?

Cesar was brilliant for QPR at times, he'd still be a good signing for a season or two. He's quite obviously a world class keeper, far better than Szczesny is at the moment, it's just about getting him back to top form.

Julio Cesar was arguably the best keeper in the world just 3 years ago, admittedly he's not as good as he was at his peak but he is still a top class keeper with tonnes of experience, something the Pole is lacking.

Oh and apparently we're offering David Villa the highest salary in the squad. I hope Levy knows what he's doing...

^ I don't really think Arsenal need a new keeper if they want to challenge for the title. Sczhzhz was good enough to keep their arsehole safe.

Tbf the only 'dross' before him was Almunia and Fabianski.

He's got potential, but definitely had let the lack of competition get to his head.

EDIT: Fabianski

Apparently we've been linked with Skrtel.

I wouldn't say not but I'm not sure if he'd be that good a long-term replacement for Coloccini. Its kinda based on the fact he had a fairly poor year for the 'Pool though.
