Frequently Asked Questions
If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.
If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.
If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, applying the oldest first and continuing to apply update packs in the chronological order in which they were released.
Contrary to previous versions of the game, there is no need to change any settings in the preferences in FM26.
If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.
These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. It might be for FM24, but the steps are exactly the same.
Otherwise, follow the steps in this comment and post the results so that we can assist you.
As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍
It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.
Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

Apologies if this has been asked but does this facepack still work for FM24?
mons
Yes, it does.

A new thread didn't need to be created since this thread already exists. Watch the video on how to install this fix, read the FAQs and if it still doesn't work, provide the info outlined in the first post 👍

Followed the instruction video. Created a ‘graphics’ folder inside ‘Football Manager 26’ folder, and moved in ‘iconfaces’ and ‘faces’ folders from the extraction. Restarted the game and all of the images were there. Thanks!!!!

As seen on the attached photos, Amanda and Lisa have their photos in the game, but their faces are not seen on the team page for cut outs. It´s not only for IK Uppsala, but a big majority of players and staff in Elitettan. Haven´t had a look at other players and clubs more than in Elitettan in Sweden.

I suspect these are images which are licensed by SI and come as part of the game, which means that they are not actually part of the megapack…
Boudewijn
I do think that´s the case. Will the SI photos be uploaded on this page or should I check the game before requests?
mons
From FM22 onwards, SI changed the process to extract images from the game, and it's a bit of a ball-ache now, to be honest. More info here.
If someone is willing to do the honours, I'd gladly see which need to be added into the megapack 👍

Good evening, is anyone able to add pictures to the FM Data Update players - I can add pictures to players that are in the original game database but not add pictures to any added players? The FM Wonderkids player pics aren't working either.
I haven't added screenshots as I have followed every footstep I have always used for the last 10 plus years.
Thanks
detari74
I found this on Steam Forum but don't understand where I would put the additional bit
Cannot add picture to custom players
I went into the editor to create some Italian legends for my database. I went into my graphics to add pictures but no matter what I try I cannot get the pictures to load. For example, player ID is 2002042476. I created a png file, labeled 2002042476, created the config file and added, <record from="2002042476" to="graphics/pictures/person/2002042476/portrait"/>. No face appears. I cannot for the life of me figure this out and I have played FM for 10 years. Any sense as to what I am doing wrong? Everyone else's faces work except for my six custom players.
They were added to the editor so I don't think this is a regen problem but I will double check just to make sure. At my wits end...

Found it. Had to add r- to each picture and make sure the generated pictures in preferences was toggled on.

The facepack causes my game to freeze for a long while when loading up the game, i have narrowed it down to this by renaming my graphics folder and then launching, which resolved the issue. Mac user btw, does anyone have this issue?

There's icon faces in the update pack but none in the megapack? What are the icon faces in the latest update pack?

Hello, I downloaded the complete FM26 cutout facepack, and after turning it into a folder with all the images, there was no config file, so I was wondering if I could just get the config file separately without needing to download the complete pack again (im on mac)
Titlos85
[FM26] Hi! I downloaded the entire pack (2026.00 + 2026.01) and the FM26 New Player Megapack. Do I need to put both in? If so, should I keep them in two separate folders? Maybe you've already written about it, but I can't find anything.
mons
In line with guidance on the official SI forums, At present, FM26 cannot handle multiple files with the same name. For example, if you have two files with the name "kit.png", it will not load both. and Player Faces: These work fine. You do not need the icon files anymore, and they can cause issues with the note above. Delete them.
As a result, the iconfaces were no longer available for download in the main pack because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from the update pack files, in which they were included by mistake👍
You can download the most recent update pack, and use it from there 👍 However, if the file you downloaded did not have a config file, I fear you didn't download the full file, or didn't install it correctly.
Install them in separate folders 👍

Hopefully not by mistake 😲 I'm playing FM24 and will continue to so for a foreseeable time until FM26 is pathed up to a playable game. So removing the iconfaces from updates would be a small disaster for me and anyone else playing FM24 and older 🙂
mons
The thing is that they weren't included in the main megapack download, and not only are they not needed in FM26, but they actively stop the main cuts from showing, seemingly.
While I agree that they should still be available for download, maybe not having them as part of the main download is the better option for the time being 🙂
