First, Bale is gone, that's a fact.

But for fans of hypotheses out there, they would be fine if he did stay, at least for one season. They're an absolute lock for at least fourth this season, the team they have and the way they play just screams title challenger. It would take a shit manager to fuck it up and AVB has proved he is not a shit manager.

If they didn't get fourth they would have to make some costcutting movements, but it wouldn't be anything similar to Leeds. Which is a damn shame, because I do love a good capitulation.

Spurs have done superbly this summer. I'd have been delighted with any of Paulinho, Capoue, Chadli, Soldado and Lamela this summer. Their success in the transfer market just highlights our shortcomings.
