hey guys im new here on the boards and i know this is a controversial first post but ive been a huge fan of FM since i was 10 years old when my brother gave me his old CM 98/99, i remember playing as the great Juve team and signing Andri Sigporson the icelandic legend and buying taribo west on the cheap in his old age. But in the past few years ive been disappointed with what i perceive as bias in FM. Im a die hard Man united fan and i always play my first game with them on a new game so maybe that makes me biased but it always seems to me like the young players at united are terribly under rated, davide petrucci, chris smalling, paul pogba all players of enormous potential in real life and given next to no chance in previous fm games. i just checked the stats of nick powell for the game and maybe its premature as i havent played much of the game yet but he looks like hes not even worth training just like the others, i mean why would Alex Ferguson splash out money on the guy if he didnt think he had potential. im interested to see what you guys think.

I think Powell's attributes are much more improved compared to FM12.

That said, most of United's youngsters have awful attributes when it comes to FM and have done for years.

Morrison, Pogba, Petrucci, Tunnicliffe, Blacket and a few others have awful stats (or had in Pogba's case) .

Take it up with Nick, hes the official researcher and is on Twitter

Powell's stats are set by the Crewe researcher. Not the United one, researchers make assumptions based off the last season

Its not just Man Utd this happens with I am a massive spurs fan and the same thing seems to happen with spurs reserve/youth players.

Players like Coulibaly, Mason, Gomelt and carroll all have poor attributes and these are good players. Especially Carroll who has about 10 Europa League games under his belt.

Muxima2013, I think you're exaggerating a bit. Pogba's attributes in FM12 weren't that bad and he certainly had decent careers in my save games. Smalling is a full international and has very decent defensive attributes indeed, so I'm not too sure why you're saying he's not good. Petrucci's first team exposure has been extremely limited; I'm not sure he's even had a single first-team appearance yet.

As for dello_dp's Spurs post, I don't think those four combined have made more than 4 league appearances between them.

I'm not saying the guys you two have mentioned have been given adequate attributes as I've no idea how good they are irl nor how good they are in the game atm and how potentially good they can become. But remember that FM, as with real-life, factors in age, first-team exposure, injuries, personality etc in how much a player develops and improves.

I've thought similar things of a few of the highly-rated youngsters at City. I assume it's more about the researchers being conservative/pessimistic about their chances than anything else.

I managed City in FM12 and thought that Micah Richards was highly underrated. He barely got any time for me and was asking for a transfer within 2 seasons, while in reality he is arguably the best English RB.

I don't think there's any anti-United bias. In my careers in FM11 and FM12, United was always very dominant in the EPL, never more than a few points away from the title.

C Ronaldo's composure 10? Flair 18? Acceleration 16?

Underrated a bit.

All players playing in Premier League are Overrated!!
Cabaye stronger than Hernanes, Papiss Cisse'? It's a monster..more than C.Ronaldo acceleration..
All the player joined the Premier their CA and PA became higher than last season..
Savic moved from Partizan to City and his CA and PA were 14 0-160, now in Fiorentina are 122CA 150PA. Same history for Nastasic. Before in Italy he was -8PA (means maximun 150PA) and now in City he is a -9 (means PA starting from 150).
Cisse' last year joined LAzion from Greece were he scored lots of goals...and was with CA less than this year...

Im not complaining, but i think it s not correct. All the player (or lots of) in Premier are overrated. Can happen some are underratted as well...but basicly lots player are overrated

Hey guy's and gal's i've not got this version of FM yet but i was wondering about the potential ratings of players and after seeing that someone has already started a thread about it i'd thought i'd ask.

Basically i've noticed (and surely i can't be the only one) that in recent years (since at least FM09) that Arsenal have always had really high stats on the young players in their reserves compared to other teams with similar, if not better youth setups, and i'm just wondering if again they have a collection of overrated kids again.

PS: you can't say that Arsenal kids are all amazing a go on to be Premiership quality because they don't, half of the Premier Leauge is made up of former Man Utd youngsters - Ryan Shawcross, Darron Gibson, Danny Welbeck, Kieron Richardson, Phil Bardsley, Danny Simpson, Fraizer Campbell, Darren Fletcher, Wes Brwon, John O'Shea, Phil Neville, Tom Cleverley, Jonny Evans, plus some noteble others in the Championship and elsewhere, Including Champions League, World Cup adn Euro Cup winner Gerard Pique.

This is not a post stating that Man Utd players should be better rated than Arsenal, just to show some examples of discrepencies with Arsenals Youth compared to the rest of the league who have brought great players through as well.

You could always open up the FM Editor and change the potential abilities of players you think need adjusting. I personally need to up the PA of Seamus Coleman, the guy (in my opinion) is much better than the game gives him credit for, which is why I thought it was a bargain getting him for £3.5mill.

Yeah i could but it isn't really that big a deal i just have felt for a number of releases that either Arsenal Youth players a too highly rated or the rest of the Premier League is underrated as it seems on almost all of the latest releases that the only Youth players worth getting are from Arsenal.

Only a bertie would think that, there's a reason Mancini prefers Zabaleta and Hodgson prefers Walker/Johnson.

exactly Richards = Overrated 100%.. not good enough for England. Walker and johnson head and shoulders above him.

as for the comment about the man utd youngsters i think youll find most of them arent from Man utd. a certain Pique for example. From Barca as a kid and then went back home like FABregas.

Yeah Pique was from Barcelona but he joined Man Utd at either 15 or 16, you can't say that at that age he didn't learn anything from being at Utd,
