FC A.K. - The Playoffs 2059
And so here we go! The playoffs were here, we had finished nine places above where the board and media had tipped us to finish. Up in third was absolutely superb for us, now we looked to try and put the icing on the cake by finishing top of the three teamed mini league and winning promotion to the top tier, but it wouldn't be easy of course...
Well our four game form wasn't brilliant, but picking up draws against Chippa United in both outings I certainly don't think we can complain about, both times coming back from behind, we gave Black Leopards a close run in over the two games as well...
We travelled to Black Leopards for the first of two games against them, we lost out here one nil due to a first half goal and we just never recovered.
Welcoming Premier tier side Chippa United, I was delighted we grabbed a point. We trailed at the break but eventually levelled twelve minutes from time as Maseko netted to secure what could be a massive point.
Staying at home we welcomed Black Leopards and recorded our first win of the mini league stage. A two one victory against Black Leopards definitely helped our case. Phakhathi netted a spot kick ten minutes into the game and we began to think it was our day. An own goal sixteen minutes from time sent us two nil up before we conceded a late consolation goal.
Finally we travelled to Chippa United and grabbed another late draw against them. We trailed just after the restart before Maseko once again dealt the blow to the Premier side as we grabbed a point again.
But how did that leave the group looking...
Close, but no cigar! It'll be another season in the National First Division for my FC A.K. team as we finished second in the Playoff Mini League, Chippa United survive the fear of relegation and finished top, unbeaten in the group as they beat Black Leopards on both occasions with them whilst we grabbed a point from them each time. We finished three points short.

FC A.K. - Pre Season Round Up 2059
The summer here in South Africa was a warm one and whilst I picked up one hell of a tan, I went on to make a busy pre season to try and build on my first successful season here at FC A.K. Here is a quick round up on the summer on whats happened on and off the pitch.
You'll recognise most of the summer signings names, the majority of them played for us last season on loan, with all their contracts expiring this summer, I approached the majority of them and got them on free transfers, they were superb players for us last season and with us staying in the same division, it was worth bringing them in full time.
Heres the squad, its a big one this summer and I may still look to ship a couple players out if possible and reduce our wage budget as we are one or two tousand over our wage budget. *If you wish to see any player just ask and I'll provide a screenshot for you.
Not a bad summer on the pitch, a busy one for sure, but with so many players coming in and plenty of rotation I expected some slight down results. Luckily it hasn't been all that made and I'm hoping our form will pick right up come the start of the league season.
I'm very surprised at the pre season predictions, the board want us to fight bravely against relegation whilst the media are tipping us to finish fifteenth out of sixteen! Both newly promoted teams, Stars of Africa and Ga-Rankuwa United are even predicted to finish above us, this could be a tough season, time to try and defy odds again...

FC A.K. - August + September 2059
Here we go then, the new season was here and its time to try and prove the critics wrong a second season running! Last season we were predicted to finish twelfth yet finished up in third and then runners up in the playoffs. This season we are predicted to finish fifteenth some how! Is this realistic or not, we shall see...
I hope one of you readers put a tenner on us at 50/1 pre season! What a start to the competitive season we have made, the opening five games have barely challenged us as we have gone on to win the opening four of five games, drawing the other one as we remain unbeaten to date.
A trip to Jomo Cosmos was where our season opened and it opened with ease as we recorded a five nil win! Come the break we lead three nil with goals from Khambule, Manyama and Maseko. Second half Khambule had a second before Boseeka nettelate on.
Another trip, this time to Black Leopards, last seasons fellow playoff finishers, we won three one again. Maseko struck after three minutes with Phakathi making it two nil after thirty five minutes. Second half we conceded one before Maseko put any doubt beyond our mind with a second of the game.
As we welcomed Stars of Africa we put in another superb performance to claim a four nil win. Khambule had a brace in eleven minutes as Tsodzo also had a brace. We had gone two nil up in the opening two minutes here, I felt the score was going to be a lot more.
Our first set back this season was a trip to Thanda Royal Zulu where we drew two a piece despite taking the lead twice. Tsodzo sent us ahead after fifteen minutes only for the host to pin us back on the half hour mark. Khambule netted a spot kick before the break but we conceded again, settling for a point come full time.
Finally we ended the opening month by welcoming African Warriors where we battled to a three one win. Khambule was brilliant here, netting two spot kicks and then a goal in injury time to secure the win. He has netted eight goals in the opening five games.
50/1 for the title hey? Well we are going to rip the bookies apart if the league season continues the way its started. Four wins and a draw as we sit top of the table but level on points with second place side FS Stars who came down last season iirc.

FC A.K. - October 2059
From the start we had made last month and going unbeaten in our opening five league games, it seemed both the board and media had wrongly predicted us for this season and that we could really go on and challenge for the title for a second season running. But then again, it could of just been a lucky start to the second season for the club.
Just the three games throughout October and fantastically we managed to stay unbeaten once again, one more clean sheet picked up and another ten goals score. Three more wins under our belts and the form just seems to keep coming to date.
A trip to Golden Arrows kickstarted October and we recorded and late victory here. Mitshali netted after five minutes to get us off the mark. It was level at the break but we snatched it fifteen minutes from time as Maseko netted.
Our only home game this month saw us welcome FC Cape Town where we recorded a clean sheet in this three nil win. Phakathi netted after eleven minutes to see us one up at the break. Mitshali netted four minutes after the break with Khambule netting his only goal this month late on.
A trip to Witbank Spurs ended the month where we played out an eight goal thriller. We netted five to win five three with all five of our goals coming before the break. Tsodzo struck once with Mitshali netted a sixteen minute hatrick and Boseeka netting our fifth. Shame our defence disappeared a little in the game.
We are beginning to run away with it early on much to everyones surprise, including mine! We sit top and three points clear of second placed side Cape Town already. We know there is a lot of football still to be played this season though, its nice to be top for now though!

FC A.K. - November 2059
An unbeaten start as we head into November, we couldn't stop the run going now if we really want to finish in the top spot. Four more games awaited us in the penultimate month of the calender year and whilst form was surprising everyone, we had to make sure we weren't getting too ahead of ourselves early on.
Finally defeated in the league this season, a very homely month for us, with three of the four games at home and despite a strong start to the month with back to back four nil wins, however unfortunately it soon turned down hill as we lost the next two games two one. But we were bound to fall to a defeat sooner or later.
We welcomed Ga-Rankuwa United where we battled to a four nil victory. Kgoadi netted the only goal of the first half. We then saw a brace from Tsodzo and then a goal from Mtshali helped secure the easy win.
Another four nil win came as we welcomed Highlands Park. Back to back clean sheets again. Tsodzo netted a twenty two minute hatrick in the first half for us as his form seemed to be coming back. Ngidi netted late on.
We then travelled to Cape Town All Stars who beat us two one. We trailed two nil most of the game until Phakathi netted a spot kick eighteen minutes from time.
And to end the month we welcomed Maluti FET and lost two one once again. Maseko gave us a nineteenth minute lead which we went on to blow.
We remain top of the pile after twelve league games have been played and with eighteen left, I really fancy our chances this year, as long as we don't blow it on the back of those two defeats to end the month. Black Leopards and Cape Town All Stars both sit three points behind us in second and third place so its going to be close thats for sure.

FC A.K. - November 2059
Into the winter month we went, December here in South Africa was still rather warm though. We looked to finish the calender year on a high with two more league games to end the year and the Preliminary round of the Cup as we look to match our cup run from last year.
Our poor ending to November followed us here into December as we lost again and then drew to end the league action for this calender year. However we ended with a win as we started the cup run off here.
A trip to Royal Eagles saw us fail to beat them for a third time since I arrived here in South Africa, Maseko netted our only goal in the second half as we fell to a three one defeat.
We then welcomed Vasco CT who we drew two a piece with. We twice came back from behind with Tsodzo netting both of our goals.
And we ended the 2059 calender year with a four one win over Stars of Africa as we began our Nedbank Cup run here in the Preliminary round. Our goals came from Phatathi, Maseko, Somi and Tsodzo, to end the year on a high note.
Its been a while since we've been knocked off the top spot, but we have now been and are trailing down in third place, our great start has been blown by our league form over the last two months. Black Leopards competing for a promotion again, sitting top and a point clear of second place FS Start whilst we sit a further point behind again.

FC A.K. - January 2060
And so the 2060 calender year is here and we went into the New Year in poor form, struggling to win in the league despite the way we started this league season. Now we had to try and fix that going into the New Year and replicate our early form, especially i we wish to go on and earn promotion this season.
We've recovered brilliantly to perform a near perfect month here in January and beating the two teams who went into the Calender year above us, FS Stars and Black Leopards, has seen us take a big leap towards securing promotion this season.
We welcomed Jomo Cosmos to open the calender year and it was Steven Sono who netted our first goal of 2060, his strike fourteen minutes from time saving us dropping points.
A trip to FS Stars saw us come back from one down to win two one and jump them into second place. Maseko levelled for us three minutes before the break whilst Ntuli struck in the sixty fourth minute to win all three points.
We then stuffed Black Leopards at home, taking a four one win as we led four nil at the break. Tsodzo and Khambule struck in the opening nine minutes whilst Mitshali and Maseko added goals before the break. We conceded one in the second half but held on strong.
A trip to struggling Stars of Africa annoyingly saw us play out a nil nil draw, our only dropped points this month.
We ended the month with a three nil home win against Thanda Royal Zulu as once again all our goals came before the break. Khambule with a brace whilst Mitshali also found the back of the net.
Back on top of the pile and back in contention to hold the top spot! We have opened up a more than comfortable four point gap now over FS Stars as Black Leopards have a poor start to the New Year, moving to third and level on points with FS Stars. We have just eleven games left this season, can we hold on..

FC A.K. - February 2060
A good return to form came as we flew into the New Year, the only issue was we had to try and continue that now which wouldn't be easy, the finish line was in sight however we knew there was a lot of games still o play and anything could happen. We also looked to continue our cup run which was on already.
A slow start to the month picked up, it dipped away again come the end but all in all it wasn't a terrible month, we just need to continue pressing up. The cup run is on as we head into the second round once again as well.
A trip to African Warriors saw us lose for the first time this calender year, a very poor showing saw us lose out three one, our goal came from Mtshali but it wasn't a pleasing showing.
We bounced back to that good form when we welcomed Golden Arrows and stuffed them three nil, all three goals coming in the second period of the game. Maseko netting first off before Khambule and Maseko netted later on to secure the points.
A narrow victory over non league side African Wanderers in the Nedbank Cup First Round, helped us advance. Our goals came from Kgoadi, Masek who netted twice and Boseeka netting the winner a minute into injury time as we nicked a four three victory.
A nil nil draw ended the month poorly with FC Cape Town.
Top of the pile but out of nowhere Jomo Cosmos climb to second and are now really competing for the top spot as they pull level on points with us and four points clear of third placed side FS Stars. It'll be tight this season, we have eight games to go!

FC A.K. - March 2060
We're nearing the end of the season but since the New Year we have been flying, however so have Jomo Cosmos. They are fighting for the top spot with us now and going into the final eight league games it was super close between the two of us. We also wanted to extend our cup run, looking to reach the Quarter Final for a second year running.
Just one slip up this month and that came at the start of the month, however we came through with three clean sheets, a superb defensive record for the month. Three league games, two wins and a draw as well as a win in the Nedbank Cup as we battled through to the Quarter Final for the Second season running.
Our only home game of March saw us welcome Witbank Spurs where we slipped up for the only time this month. We trailed two nil at the break and despite a brace from Claudio Julio de Sousa Perreira Vaz, such a long name, we couldn't seal the three points.
Back on the road we travelled to Ga-Rankuwa United where we claimed all three points as we ran to a three nil win. Phatahi netted a spot kick eighteen minutes in whilst Maseko and Ngidi also struck before the break as we strolled to victory.
A second visit with Witbank Spurs this month, this time a trip to them in the Nedbank Cup Second Round saw us advance to the Quarter Final as Khambule netted in injury time of the first half.
And to end the month, a third trip on the road in a row as we faced Highlands Park who we beat one nil. Maseko netted after twenty seven minutes, settling the score.
Down to just five games left this season now and Jomo Cosmos perfect form over the last month has seen them now overtake us and rocket to the top of the pile and sitting two points clear. We are four points clear of third place FS Stars whilst nine points clear of Black Leopards who currently sit in fourth space and outside the playoffs.

FC A.K. - April 2060
Here we go, the penultimate month of the season and the fight for the top spot was well and truly on with Jomo Cosmos really fighting back this season and going into the month and we had the fight on our hands to try and claw it back again. With a further three league games this month and the Cup Quarter Final, we were definitely in with a shout.
A strong start to the month soon fizzled away in this short four game month, we played three league games, keeping up the pressure on Jomo Cosmos by staying unbeaten again with two wins and a draw and we narrowly exited the Nedbank Cup in the Quarter Final for the second half running as we lost out two one against Kaizer Chiefs.
We welcomed Cape Town All Stars and beat them two nil with both goals coming in the second half, Khambule and Maseko both netting to take us to the points.
A strange trip to Maluti FET saw us win two nil, but both goals came in injury time and very late. Ngidi netted what seemed to be the winner two minutes into injury time whilst Phakathi then netted a spot kick a minute later, securing the two goal win.
A trip to Premiership side Kaizer Chiefs and we somehow managed to only lose out two one. Annoyingly we were two nil down after just seventeen minutes. We came back with a spot kick from Phakathi two minutes into the second half, unfortunately we couldn't go on to grab anything else.
Finally a trip to Royal Eagles and for the fourth game out of four, we've failed to beat them with a one all draw here. Maseko netted in the thirty second minute to give us the lead, however a second half equaliser saw us settling for a single point.
Twenty eight league games played and just two remain in this seasons fight for the top spot as Jomo Cosmos remain in control, they need to just win their last two and they have the title and we'll be set for the playoffs for a second season running. The three of us have secured a minimum of that this season, we now just require finding out who finishes top.

FC A.K. - May 2060
The final part month of the season was here and with just two league games remaining this season, it was time to find out where the league title, was it to be Jomo Cosmos title or ours, or even FS Stars who still had an outside chance of sealing the title on the last two days. The three of us had secured playoff spots and now just battled for that top spot.
This is how our season would be finished off and we'd take four points from our final two games, which were tough games. But would this prove enough to be the league champions, we trailed Jomo Cosmos by a point going into these last two games.
A trip to Vasco CT ended nil nil, neither side did enough to seal the win.
Finally we finished the league season at home, welcoming FS Stars and winning three two. We netted after four minutes through Maseko however come the break it was level at one a piece. Maseko and Mogale netted in the second half, sending us three one up before we conceded again.
No not quite! Despite a brilliant season for us, we finish second and that sees us head into the playoffs for a second season running. Jomo Cosmos had a sensational season and went on to win the league title by a comfortable three point gap, finishing on more points than the league winners last season did. Us and FS Stars now head for the four game playoffs!
The playoff mini league is back! For us we face it for a second season running, only side to be in it for the last two seasons. Maritzburg United face the fear of relegation as they come into this group along with us and third placed finishers FS Stars.

FC A.K. - Playoffs 2060
So here we were for a second season running, four games away from promotion to the top tier, last season we finished in this group second, just missing out on the top spot and promotion to the promised land, I didn't want it to happen for a second season running, the team were motivated for the challenge and now we had to perform on the pitch.
Well, our form in the mini league definitely started slow and our final playoff promotion hope seemed to take an early dent, however we soon got back on track to draw our second game and then go on to win our final two games, both at home to really put in a fight for the mini league top spot.
A trip to Maritzburg United saw us play poorly against the relegation threatened side and lose three one, wantaway player Ngidi netted our goal.
A one all draw with FS Stars hasn't helped things, Tsodzo netted after fifty eight minutes, taking us into the lead but conceding in the final ten minutes saw us have to settle for a point.
Welcoming Maritzburg United we went on to beat them, coming back from one nil down at the break as we went on to win two one. Tsodzo netted a fine, late brace, his first fifteen minutes from time before netting the winner two minutes into injury time, our hopes were still alive.
And finally we welcomed FS Stars and beat them three two. Again we trailed at the break, one nil down, Mtshali brought us level before Khambule made it two one with just over half an hour remaining. We conceded again but a spot kick and a second goal for Khambule sent us on to finish the season on back to back wins.
But would that be enough for promotion...
DAMMIT!, we've missed out on promotion via the mini league playoff system for a second season running. We done alright, finishing second in the group for a second season running but two points off Maritzburg United who survive their relegation scare. FS Stars have a poor time of it, finishing on a single point.
