https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/MYAsFYUzxZbyfcFBWsTC0MsUor1zil6PMHThr5td.png

Hartlepool have brought their number of signings in this close season up to thirteen with the signings of Matthew Barnes-Homer, Jon Guthrie and Raphael Branco. Striker Barnes-Homer joins the club from Conference side Aldershot, whilst centre backs Jon Guthrie and Raphael Branco have joined from League One sides Crewe and Swindon respectively.

Barnes-Homer, 30, managed twelve goals last season but was unable to prevent Aldershot from being relegated from the Conference National. Barnes-Homer was offered a new deal at the club but instead has moved up to Hartlepool. Jon Guthrie made twenty nine appearances last season for Crewe Alexandra whilst Raphael Branco made only six appearances for Swindon last season. Guthrie rejected a new deal at Crewe whilst Branco was released by Swindon.

Hartlepool Allow Captain Magnay To Leave The Club

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/cN2dQhrXi5ovwF10ANQMhSakCTA3qqNswE3rZhOD.png

Hartlepool have allowed Club Captain Carl Magnay to leave the club on a free transfer to League One side Yeovil Town. Carl Magnay joined the club last Summer and was made Captain of the club however Hartlepool have allowed the former Chelsea defender to leave the club in what has already been a very busy transfer window for Adam Boyd's side.

Manager Adam Boyd could not hide his disappointment at Magnay leaving the club however stated that he had to allow Magnay the opportunity at League One football: "It's disappointing that Carl (Magnay) has left the club but once Yeovil were interested Carl stated he wanted to leave. He did great for us last season and he was our captain so we will miss him. However, I need my players to be commited, especially my captain so I made the decision to let him leave the club. Magnay made thirty one appearances last season for Hartlepool. In other transfer news, midfielder Lewis Hawkins has joined Conference side Barrow on loan for the upcoming season from Hartlepool.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/pTQI9B1GlfoXsAapa9JuDSTCP9j0SjqPPIUqE55i.png

Hartlepool have allowed three players to leave the club on loan for the upcoming season. Defender Billy Simpson has joined Conference North side AFC Fylde while Rhys Oates has joined Conference side Barrow.

Kudus Oyenuga, 22, made thirty nine appearances last season, scoring ten goals for Adam Boyd's side however a reshuffle this transfer window has seen the striker leave the club. Billy Simpson joined Hartlepool in January from Bishop's Stortford and made five appearances for the club. The centre recently signed a new deal at the club. Finally, striker Rhys Oates managed four goals last season, including a hat-trick against Plymouth Argyle and he has been allowed to join Barrow on loan. Shrewsbury Sign Atangana From Hartlepool

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/0yuWxQguWqXGj61pNGLr5NEQ9XKaSDPqaCobzQHj.png

League One side Shrewsbury Town have completed the signing of Nigel Atangana from League Two side Hartlepool for a fee of £70k. Centre midfielder Atangana joined Hartlepool last Summer from Portsmouth for a fee of £50k and made thirty one appearances last season, scoring once.

Nigel Atangana, 26, becomes the sixth player to leave Adam Boyd's side already this season in a extremely busy transfer period for the League Two side. Atangana thanked Hartlepool manager Adam Boyd for allowing him to make the step up to League One: " I would like to thank everybody at Hartlepool and especially the manager for a great season last season. I wasn't expecting to leave the club but when Shrewsbury showed their interest I was never going to turn them down. I can't wait to start playing in a better league and with Hartlepool all the best in the future".

Hartlepool Sign Nile Ranger On Free Transfer From Blackpool

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/tk04z4fhAvSf8UrJMk0ssLyZoiUMSJrCmk055FAX.png

Troubled striker Nile Ranger has signed for League Two side Hartlepool on a free transfer from League One side Blackpool. Ranger only made four appearances last season for Blackpool and was fined on numerous occasions for missing training. Ranger, 25, has had disciplinary problems at all of his previous clubs.

Striker Nile Ranger becomes Hartlepool's fourteenth signing in an already eventful transfer window for Adam Boyd's Hartlepool side. Adam Boyd stated that he understands the risk attached to Ranger but believes that Ranger can be a hit at the club if he can sort out his attitude: "When a player of Nile Ranger's quality becomes available there was no way I wasn't going to move for him. It's his last chance really as he's been in trouble at every club he's been at so it's obviously a risk but one I feel will be worth it. He was playing in the Premier League a few years back and I'm really happy to have brought him to the club. We need to get behind the lad and leave the past in the past."

Hartlepool Fans Rage At Ranger Signing

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/5vxF4sGcQkkKZvzKBUpCA57WQjsEqLE8FXO9Phkx.png

Peter Smith, the chairman of the Hartlepool Supporters Trust has expressed his disappointment with the club's signing of former Blackpool striker Nile Ranger. Ranger has signed a two-year deal at the club after being released from League One side Blackpool.

"Last season was such a great season for us where we came so close to promotion but all that positive energy has left the club after the signing of Nile Ranger. He's not a player that we want at the club, we need our players to be role models and Nile Ranger is certainly not that. At every club he was been at he's been a nightmare. Adam Boyd has done a great job at the club but we are really not happy with this decision. We have given him a two-year deal which is stupid and I hope the club don't regret this move." Smith said. Hartlepool have refused to comment on the situation.

Hartlepool have completed their fifteenth and sixteenth signing of the close season with the signing of former Portsmouth midfielder Danny Hollands and Aldershot midfielder Jake Gallagher. Danny Hollands, 30, made eighteen appearances for Portsmouth last season but was released at the end of last season. Jake Gallagher, 23, has joined the club for a fee of £10k from Conference South side Aldershot after their relegation from the Conference.

Danny Hollands, 30, produced a Man Of The Match performance when Hartlepool played Portsmouth last season and stated his delight at joining the club: "Last season Hartlepool were brilliant and they definitely surprised a lot of people. I'm really happy to have joined the club and hopefully this season we can push on and get promotion. I know the gaffer (Adam Boyd) has made a lot of changes over the Summer but I am sure we will all gel in quickly". Jake Gallagher, a tough tackling midfielder has joined the club as a direct replacement for Nigel Atangana who was recently left the club to join League One side Shrewsbury.

Fenwick, Dennis and Gallagher Ruled Out Of Season Opener

http://c.files.bbci.co.uk/91A1/production/_84218273_gettyimages-454240234.jpg

Hartlepool manager Adam Boyd has announced that new signings Kristian Dennis and Jake Gallagher have been ruled out for the season's opener against Accrington Stanley as well as last season's top goalscorer Scott Fenwick.

Summer signing Gallagher who joined the club from Aldershot has been ruled out for any time up to six weeks after badly twisting his ankle in training yesterday. Scott Fenwick, who was Hartlepool's top goalscorer last season has also damaged his ankle and has been ruled out for three weeks. Fenwick missed the back end of last season due to a dislocated shoulder and will be extremely disappointed with another injury set back. Finally, striker Kristian Dennis who joined the club from Conference North side Stockport County has damaged his heel and is expected to be out for a week.

Barnes-Homer Hits Debut Goal To Secure Hartlepool Win

Hartlepool Summer signing Matthew Barnes-Homer scored his first ever Football League goal on his debut to ensure his side beat Accrington Stanley. Hartlepool have made a whole host of signings over the Summer, including Barnes-Homer from the Non-League who scored a great poacher's effort on his debut.

Barnes-Homer, 30, has had to wait a long time to get his chance in the Football League and despite bagging twelve goals in the Conference last season for Aldershot, it was not enough to keep them in the league. Barnes-Homer was expected to stay with The Shots but Hartlepool manager took a punt on the journeyman striker and on this performance, it was definitely worth it. The only goal of the game came when Rakish Bingham header the ball down to Barnes-Homer who fantastically smashed the ball into the roof of the net. Hartlepool are in the Capital One Cup in their next match as they host League One side Sheffield United.

Penalty Heartache For Hartlepool As Sheffield United Progress

League Two side Hartlepool crashed out of the Capital One Cup after they lost to League One side Sheffield United on penalties. Hartlepool beat Premier League side Sunderland in the competition last season but have now failed to progress at the first time of asking.

Hartlepool were the better side in the first half and went in ahead thanks to Rakish Bingham's first goal of the season. The right winger who has started this season in great form tapped in after Matthew Barnes-Homer's effort had hit the post. Hartlepool thought they had managed a brilliant victory however Chris Basham headed in in injury time to take the game to extra time. Extra time found no winner and unfortunately for Hartlepool Matthew Barnes-Homer's penalty was saved to send Sheffield United through. Hartlepool travel to Northampton next in the league.

I hope I haven't messed the chemistry up by bringing so many players in! Amond is an interesting one, he's a player in real life who is doing well so thought I'd bring him in. His composure is '5' which is poor but hopefully he can do well for me. Finished top scorer in the Conference last season. Gnanduillet was a replacement for Jake Hyde who we had on loan last season and will be a good player to bring off the bench. Devitt is another one who has started off this season on the bench but he's definitely a player I want to fit into the starting line up.

And thanks for the comment again Dan !

Just read through this story and have to say you've done a great job. I'm not playing FM this year due to lack of time to really get into it so will be enjoying others stories a lot more this season.

Risky signing with Ranger but if he doesn't cause issues then you've got a good player on your hands, especially for League 2.

I may have missed it but did you not try and get Hyde back this season after his successful loan spell last season?

Oh dear, you signed the self-proclaimed "power" ranger. The guy is a class A twat and that's considering the ones we have in charge of our club.

However, he should get you some goals in League 2 on FM where he can't nearly get up to the same shit he does in real life. I do like your strike force, hope Barnes-Homer gets you plenty! Just can see a couple of them leaving before January such is the amount of forwards at your disposal!

KUTGW.

Hartlepool manager Adam Boyd's bogey run against Northampton continued today as his side lost by three goals to one. Rakish Bingham had put Hartlepool ahead before Nicky Adams scored a brace for Northampton before Joe Iaciofano secured the win for the home side.

Rakish Bingham put the visitors ahead with a fine strike from outside the area after some good work from Brad Walker. Former Leicester midfielder Nicky Adams then grabbed a quick double for the hosts to put Northampton ahead. Adams' first strike deflected in off Harry Worley before his second goal was a fine header at the back post after he lost his man. As Hartlepool pushed for a winner Northampton hit them on the break and Joe Icaiofano sealed the win. Hartlepool host Luton in their next match.

Luton condemned Hartlepool to back-to-back defeats after James Bailey's late strike won the game for the visitors. Hartlepool had gone ahead when Luton goalkeeper Lee Nicholls scored an own goal before Josh McQuoid got an equaliser before Bailey's late winner.

Miles Hippolyte caused the opener for Hartlepool when his effort was palmed onto the post by Luton goalkeeper Lee Nicholls however the ball rebounded back off the head of the goalkeeper and into the net. Former Bournemouth striker Josh McQuoid then grabbed a quick equaliser when he poked home before James Bailey powered home from twenty five yards to grab the win for Luton. Hartlepool travel to Mansfield in their next league game.

Hartlepool Return For Record Appearance Holder Humphreys

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/vsLF6N2KmSn1NOrHlbMCot65EZdpBhdJZ0HiC1Oo.png

Hartlepool's record appearance holder Ritchie Humphreys has returned to the club as a coach for the side's Under 18 side. Humphreys had made 488 appearances for Hartlepool in his playing career and has most previously been at Chesterfield before his retirement in the Summer.

Humphreys, 38, was captain for the club in his playing days and currently holds his Continental A License. The former captain could not hide his delight at his return to the club: "I'm over the moon to be back here because it's a club very close to my heart. I obviously spent twelve seasons here and I played with Boydy (Adam Boyd) here as well so I know him well. I'm looking forward to working with the young lads and hopefully get involved with some first team coaching in the future".

Holman becomes Hartlepool's seventh striker on the books alongside Matthew Barnes-Homer, Padriag Amond, Kristian Dennis, Scott Fenwick, Nile Ranger and Armand Gnanduillet. "I'm happy to join a talented bunch of lads and it will be a challenge to get into the side. We have a lot of strikers here but I'm up for the challenge and believe I can be a success here." Hartlepool have now lost their last three matches after Mansfield dominated in a convincing three nil win for the hosts. Adam Chapman and Craig Westcarr had put Mansfield ahead in the first ten minutes before Matty Blair scored a great individual effort to secure the win.

Adam Chapman put Mansfield ahead with a long range free kick before Chapman was the architect for Mansfield second goal when his cross was headed home by Craig Westcarr. Hartlepool rarely threatened and were second best throughout the match. Matty Blair secured the win for the home side when he took on three players and calmly fired the ball past Trevor Carson. Hartlepool host Notts County in their next league match as they will try to stop their bad form.

Hartlepool's Kristian Dennis scored his first goals for the club as he came off the bench to secure the win against a strong Notts County side. Padriag Amond had put the home side ahead before Jake SInclair and Curtis Thompson scored for the away side. Kristian Dennis then came off the bench to bag a double with his first goals since his arrival from Stockport County.

Padriag Amond was top goalscorer in the Conference last season for Grimsby and got his first goal for his new club just after the half hour mark. Amond fired home after the returning Scott Fenwick played the striker through. Jake Sinclair then headed in an equaliser for the away side before Curtis Thompson flicked in to put the visitors ahead. Kristian Dennis replaced Scott Fenwick at half time and grabbed his first goal for the club when he fired home at the back post. Only one minute later, Kristian Dennis headed in to grab the win for the home side. Hartlepool travel to Tranmere next in the league.

Aston Villa Youngster Hepburn-Murphy Joins Hartlepool On Loan

Aston Villa striker Rushian Hepburn-Murphy has joined League Two side Hartlepool on loan for three months. Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, 18, has yet to make an appearance for Aston Villa's senior side but is held in high regard by the coaching staff at Villa Park.

Hepburn-Murphy now becomes the side eighth striker and manager Adam Boyd has not ruled out some strikers leaving the squad before the transfer window ends in a few days time. "Obviously we have quite a lot of strikers at the club now so a few may have to leave on loan but there is no movement on that yet." Last season's top goalscorer Scott Fenwick made his first appearance for the club since March in the weekend's win against Notts County and was very happy to return to action: "Last season getting injured was devastating and I'm so happy to be back in the first team picture."

Hartlepool's Kristian Dennis struck the winner deep into injury time to secure a great win against Tranmere Rovers. Rushian Hepburn-Murphy had put Hartlepool ahead with a debut strike before Dean Rittenberg equalised for the home side.

Kristian Dennis, who only managed four goals for Conference side Macclesfield last season has now scored three in two matches with his late strike. Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, who only joined the club last week was on the scoresheet after he slotted home after some good work from Brad Walker. Dean Rittenberg then headed in from a corner to equalise for the home side before Dennis headed in following a free kick from Jake Carroll. Hartlepool face AFC Wimbledon next in the league.

Hartlepool secured their third successive win after goals from Rakish Bingham and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy were enough for them to beat AFC Wimbledon.

Rakish Bingham found the net early on with his third goal of the season after fired in from a tight angle. Rushian Hepburn-Murphy then grabbed his second goal for the club in only his second match after he headed in just after the break from a great cross from Michael Duckworth. AFC Wimbledon rarely threatened as Hartlepool were comfortable for their win. Hartlepool travel to Wycombe next in their next league match.

Hartlepool players Jamie Devitt and Armand Gnanduillet have both expressed their disappointment at their lack of playing time this season, however both have stated that they are hoping to change Adam Boyd's mind with their performances in training. Devitt has only made three substitute appearances this season whereas Gnanduillet has only managed one start.

Jamie Devitt was a key player last season for Morecambe however has found himself on the fringes of Hartlepool's side this season. "I'm obviously unhappy with not playing enough but it's up to me to try and change the gaffer's mind" said the Irishman. Gnanduillet has managed one start this season and has made five appearances off the bench but it rumoured to have had a meeting with manager Adam Boyd regarding his lack of playing time.
