Gendo, We're Coming For You - A Dan & Shedender BSC Succession Save

Another disappointing afternoon as the side failed to record a home success over Gateshead at the Proact. Jon Taylor gave us the lead on eleven minutes but the Heed levelled just six minutes later and despite us being the better side throughout, we just could not find that elusive and much needed winner. Down to twelfth.

It could be the end of the road at Chesterfield, really can't see me keeping my job after this unacceptable defeat at Wycombe.


We're officially on 'life support', I won't get the required points total in those five games so we'll be unemployed by at least the end of February. I can apologise to @Dan in advance for getting us sacked a second time!

Huge win against struggling Leeds in a game that saw Douglas Morrison end his over 16 hour goal drought.

An own goal has given us back-to-back league wins with this single goal win away to Coventry.

How we ended up losing this three nil, I'll never understand. Deserved so much more.

Well, we can't be sacked (for now) as I achieved the minimum expectation from the board which was 9 points from the next 5 games after this perhaps undeserved 2-1 success away to Rochdale in which Douglas Morrison, who I had a few weeks ago heavily criticised, scored twice on our travels.

Dull.

Hartlepool won it due to a late own goal in a game were nothing happened. The first half highlights alone were about 10 f*cking seconds!

F*ck me, another defeat due to another late goal as relegation threatened Carlisle win 1-0 and the board have had enough of this rubbish. If/when we lose our next game, away to MK Dons then I'll be getting us sacked for the second and rightly so - you cannot expect the board to be delighted at losing to two crap sides.

Somehow I've avoided the threat of getting sacked . . . again after this hard fought victory at stadium:mk. Douglas Morrison and Leigh Kitchen had us two goals up and it should've been more convincing but Reece Grego-Cox made it a very nervy last five minutes plus stoppage time.

An excellent second half performance saw us come from behind to beat play-off rivals Barnsley 3-1.

I've been a little inconsistent during my three months in charge that a spot in the play-off's isn't looking a possibility although could happen as I'm sure @Dan will get over that line and into the top six. I've had some enjoyable wins during my trio of months (3-2 home win vs. Leeds) being on and some frustrating moments (3-0 vs. Blackburn when we deserved so much more) and being threatened with the sack about three times ffs.

But yeah, we're currently eighth with seven games remaining.

Poor showing against Playoff chasing Wigan. We deserved nothing and got nothing.

100 games in charge of Chesterfield now, I'm thinking there probably isn''t that many more though, especially if we fail to meet their expecations of the playoffs this year.


The players lived up to the occassion with a superb four one victory here. We were two up at the break as Mulvany and Morrson both netted. Sanders and Donnelly with second half goals.

Back to back 4-1 victories as we beat twenty second placed side Ipswich comfortably. Mulvany this time striking twice along with Morrison and Chamberlain on target for us. We face twenty first place Luton next, another big game.

Looked like we were going to lose after Morrissons early goal was ruled out. However the ninetieth minute winner and his second of the game climbed us up the seventh place. We're a point outside the playoffs and only two points off third, its a close run in with three to go.

This was a massive three points over league leaders Cambridge. Ryan Donnelly netting nineteen minutes from time saw us win our fourth game on the bounce and move up to fifth.

Our last two games are as follows:

Bolton (A) - 24th
Oldham (H) - 10th

We're almost there, not quite, but almost. We beat Bolton one nil thanks to a twenty fifth minute Rogers strike, securing a fifth win in a row. We need to win our final game against ninth place Oldham to secure the playoff spot. If we win and the teams occupying 2nd' 3rd, 4th and 5th all slip up, we can still finish second...

Well, we knew a win would secure the playoff spot, then we put this display on. Battered by Oldham. We lost four one, one result goes against us and we miss out on playoffs.


We held on just. Its not been a pretty seasons for us, losing the joint most games in the top eleven this season and the worst goal difference in the top twelve. But we're there. In the playoffs for a second year running, this time facing Barnsley over two legs.

We needed a big showing at home and that is what we've done, a three one win. Unfortunately the own goal late on cost us a little bit. But goals from Mulvany Sanders and Morrissons secured the win.

Three one up first leg, we just had to make sure we didn't lose by two goals. We were one down in fourteen minutes and I feared it'd be another failed playoff for us. However Morrison and Sanders sent us two one up. The host equalised twelve minutes from time but we were in the Final.

We will face Rochdale in the Final our head to heads with them since our stay at Chesterfield look like this:

Which means we'll probably get beat.

Form was in our favor, head to head results were in our favor as we went into our second playoff final in two years. Last year we lost our against Portsmouth...on penalties, this year we looked to right those wrongs...


F*CK! Again we fall at the final hurdle. Despite the five wins in our final six league games to climb us into the playoffs. Despite head to head results favoring us. We lost, we failed in promotion again. Ryan Miller scored two second half goals in nine minutes to sink us, despite dominating.

So after our playoff disappointment, for a second year running, I've brought in a couple new faces for our third attempt to get out of League One.



Two good signings for the club. hopefully a step forward in this years title hunt.

And to end my stint....


I've extended our stay here in Chesterfield for another year. Our contract was set to expire in two days time and with not much else out there appealing.

As much as I've enjoyed our spell at Chesterfield, the idea for this challenge is to try and conquer the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, winning every domestic trophy possible and when I saw a certain job was available, one I'm not fussed on in real life, I thought we needed to move on as we could attempt to win more trophies - if we get the right cup draws.

So, who is the club? . . .


@Dan and I are heading to sunny wet Northern Ireland for our next managerial stint as Cliftonville, runners-up last season to bitter rivals Crusaders have approached us after 'Dean Ashton' impressed in an interview. The board have given us a transfer budget of nearly £2m which is insane for an Irish Premiership club.

Decided to 'splash the cash' on signing #1 as winger Mark Ferguson arrived from English Championship side Birmingham.

He cost peanuts and he's on peanuts is this young shot stopper. Doubt he'll even play a game for us.


Another signing that isn't even one star, but he's arrived on a season loan from English Premier League side Manchester City so he must have something about him. He'll be first choice for the first three or four games this season to see what he can do. Was pretty desperate for a striker.


Teenager cost us £62k from Queens Park Rangers. He's a central midfielder.

£36k from Premier League side Newcastle United - could be first choice at left back.

On-loan Dale Dickson scored twice on his Reds debut as we recorded a convincing (and expected, according to the media) 3-0 win against Ballinamallard at Solitude. Ian McFarland was also on target and it could've been more. Promising start.

Poor game. Draw a fair result.
