Let me introduce you to my 2nd career on FM19. I'll still be continuing with my 1. FC Köln career but fancied a second save alongside it. The aim is simple; to win everything the game has to offer. It's a task that more than likely won't be completed but I'll sure as hell give it a good go. There will be no set route that I will follow, but I'll just go where the wind takes me.
- I am using the original database with no additional leagues (why would I make my job any harder.)
- I will set my manager to Sunday League Experience and No Coaching Qualifications to make it more realistic.
This post will now be my career history post and below I'll be posting my achievements so far.

Introducing Tongey
Tongey: Also known as Mark Tonge is a 25-year-old first-time manager from the North West of England. Born in 1992 in Manchester he followed only two teams growing up. The mighty Manchester United, and the lowly Northwich Victoria.
Despite having Zero Playing Experience and No Coaching Qualfications he has set out on his quest for the first job in football management. For some reason Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have taken a dislike to him despite probably not even knowing who he is.
He has decided that the continent of South America is the best place to start his managerial hunt and landed there a few days ago. The following job was available and he has applied for the role immediately.

I'd been in South America travelling around for a few months and no jobs were coming up. The season was well underway and I knew that I had to just stick around at it and some jobs would eventually find me. That being said, in May, after 4 months of waiting around, drinking myself silly and exploring the local cities a team approached me and asked me to interview. That team was:
I attended the interview in my only shirt and trouser combination I had in my suitcase. It was semi-clean and I had no access to an iron so I went for the creased look. I must have looked a right mess. After answering all the same questions you get in every interview, agreeing to their requests and proving to them that I can do the job, I left in high spirits and went in search of a pint of my favourite local beer: Dorado, and waited patiently for an answer.
A few days passed, and my phone buzzed, it was Deportes Copiapo's chairman on the phone. He offered me the job right there and then, and with that, I had my suitcase packed and was on the way to my swanky 2* hotel that they had put me up in for the foreseeable future. The job commences...
Club Overview
Deportes Copiapo are a team that play their football in the Chilean First Division B. Having only been founded in 1999, they have a short history and only the one trophy. They won the Chilean Third Division A back in 2002. Other than that, no trophies have been won and the trophy room is mine to fill.
An average ticket price to the ground is £5 and a season ticket is £78 itself. On average the club has about 350 season ticket holders which are pretty decent for the level they play at.
The team play their home games at the Bicentenario Municipal Luis Valenzuela Hermosilla. (Try saying that 10 times whilst drunk). The stadium packs in a whole 8000 fans at capacity so we will get nowhere near that.

The Season so Far...
Fixtures
As you can see, there are a lot of red dots on the fixtures for the first half of the season. That needs to change and change quickly if we want to make this a success. I don't expect to win anything this season but just to get a footing in the league, so we can build on it for next season. You can also see that we have been knocked out of the Chilean Cup which is disappointing as I love a good cup run.
League Table
Things aren't looking good in the league. We sit 2nd bottom of the league on 13 points after 13 games. It is pretty close at the bottom and hopefully a few good results early on will see us rocket up the league.
The Squad
We have a massive squad, and one that I need to trim down. I hate huge squads so cuts will be coming quickly. I'll need to see where the strengths are, and where we are weak. Time for the upheavel to begin...

I've been managing in Chile now for half a season and the season has come to a close. What went on I hear you ask? Well it's time to explain what happened at the first club 'Tongey' managed in his career. It's a good story so settle in.
MANAGER UPDATE
As you're aware, at the start of the save I had 'Zero Coaching Qualifcations' and that is definitely something that I looked to rectify from the off in Chile. I asked the board if I could go on a coaching course claiming that it would help the club in the long run if I could enhance my skills, and of course, they soaked that all up and granted me permission!
First one in the bag, and immediately I asked if I could go on my second coaching course to improve my skills even further. They agreed and I'm currently studying for my National B License which will hopefully help me further down the line in my career and the hunt for trophies.
END OF SEASON UPDATE
Now I can't lie to you, we weren't in a good position when I took over. We were 2nd bottom and headed for relegation from the Chilean First Division B which would more than likely end with me receiving the dread P45. I was determined not to let this happen at my first job as I don't think it would look good on my CV. Anyway, we had 17 games to turn our luck around and survive the drop. If we did this then I can start building for next season, bring in my own players and really build my own team. This season is all about survival.
It doesn't look too good in terms of the number of green dots on the fixture list in my 17 games in charge. The number of red dots greatly outnumbers the green ones and there are also far too many yellow dots on there too for my liking. During these 17 games, we managed to get 5 wins, 3 draws and 9 losses. Ultimately it all came down to a final day match against San Marcos De Arica who occupied 15th position at the time, whilst we occupied 14th. Whoever won would stay up. So what happened?
Somehow, we had done it. A massive 4-1 victory on the final day meant that we keep our place in the Chilean First Division B for at least another season. I'm really happy to have kept us up, and I can now build on this for next season. Time for me to shine and put my own stamp on the club.

Last time around it was the end of season update, and you saw us escape the drop on a dramatic final day where we managed a huge win to keep us in the league, and more importantly myself in a job. I've had the whole offseason now to get rid of the dead wood and bring in some players that will help me stamp my own mark on the league.
MANAGER UPDATE
I'm still studying for my National B License and once that is completed I will be asking the board permission to start the National A License, which I'm sure they will accept as I think they can already see the benefits.
In terms of my contract, the board decided that I was good enough for another offer. They offered me a lovely 1 year extension where I will earn a massive £500 a week. I'm happy that board felt that they wanted to do that, as it shows a commitment to me and I can carry on trying to build the club up and onwards into the big leagues.
TRANSFERS // IN
Ronald Gonzàlez // ST // San Luis de Qullota // £9k
Ronald played for us on loan last season and did alright. He's got a decent eye for goal and I couldn't turn down the fact that he was on the transfer list. He will be used in a rotation system up top and hopefully will score a fair amount of goals for me.
Pablo Sanhueza // CB // Magallanes // Free
Pablo is a commanding centre back that should slot straight into the squad. He has great heading ability and is fairly strong so hopefully, he can be a good presence at the back.
Joaquin Moya // CM // Barnechea // Free
Joaqin is a tricky little midfield player who plays best a Mezzala. He's an instant upgrade on the past in the middle so will be in my starting midfield partnership.
Gonzalo Reyes // ST // Santiago Morning // Free
Gonzalo comes from a strong Santiago Morning squad last season. He's a quick, strong presence up top and should score goals for fun if played correctly. Hopefully, he's my star buy of the season.
Daniel Castillo // GK // Universidad de Concepion // Free
Daniel will come straight in to compete for the number one job with our Boris. He's got good stats for a keeper and I don't mind either keeper starting on day one.
PRE SEASON RESULTS
For our preseason, we had a total of 6 friendlies organised. 5 of these were included in a tour of our home country Chile. Things went really well for us as we won the first 5 friendlies in a row scoring a total of 18 goals in the process. We conceded 5, 1 in every game so no clean sheet for us but the wins are the important things. We managed to grab a draw in the last friendly which is ok in my eyes. A good performance against a decent team.
I feel like we are ready for the new season now, and I feel confident in my squads ability. Who knows? That could be famous last words.

A Quick Update
So, the situation so far this season is this; so far we have played 11 games in the league campaign, and so far we have played 11 games without a win. Yes, that's right! WITHOUT A WIN! We've played 11 games, 6 of which have ended in draws, and 5 of which have ended in losses. That's not good enough for me, and I'm not impressed with my management or the players' ability to win games. Here are the fixtures we've played so far and what's happened in them anyway...
The league table doesn't look good for us either, we sit 2nd bottom. The only positive is that it's still relatively close. Our form just has to pick up and we may get a run of wins going and we can rocket up that league. More likely though, is that we will continue our woeful form and sit at the bottom of the league for the foreseeable future.
Of course, the board aren't happy, and I got that dreaded email calling me in for a meeting to discuss confidence in the manager. I pleaded my case saying that it is my first job in management, and they agreed to keep me on if our form improves. The challenge is in...

THE 5 GAMES...
Can you imagine what happened in these 5 games. I had been set a target of 10 points from these 5 games.
We started off with a huge 3-1 loss against a team below us. That was the game I was banking on winning, to be honest, and we lost it. Not a good start to the challenge.
We got our 1st point of the 10 required as we drew with Deportes Iquique 1-1.
We surprisingly beat Deportes Puerto Montt who were sitting in 3rd position at the time. Our first win of the season!!
We made it 2 wins on the bounce as we trounced Coquimbo Unido 4-0 to make it 7 points collected so far. One game to go and we had to win it!
We lost the game. What a game though. It had it all! 6-3 was the final score...and that was that...
MANAGER NEWS
I did manage to squeeze one last thing out of the club before they sacked me though...I asked them to send me on a coaching course and they accepted. They will fund the course, and I'm now not employed by them...Thanks, and seeya!

I'd been unemployed for a total of 41 days when a little team in Uruguay gave me the chance to become their first team manager. I jumped at the chance and was on the next plane to this wonderful country!
Club Overview
Juventud de La Piedres are a professional Uruguayan team playing in the Uruguayan Second Division. They have significantly more history than my previous club having been founded in 1935. They've only won the two trophies in that time, the first being Uruguayan Second Division and the second being the Uruguayan Second Division B. Not exactly a trophy cabinet brimming to the rafters though, so that's my aim. Get them some trophies!
The average ticket price for a game is £5 so really cheap, let's hope I can give them good value for this. The club has no fierce rivals and no other rivals, which seems strange to me.
The team play their home games at the Estadio Municipal Parque Artigas which holds a capacity of 3,500 which is all seated!

The Season so Far...
Fixtures
As you can see, it's been a fairly decent season for the club. I'm not too sure why the previous manager got sacked. I've come into the club with 2 games to go on the season so not much time to get anything done this season. The season started fairly well for them with a good few wins on the board early doors. I suppose the form went downhill at the end and they haven't won in the last 3 games.
League Table
The club currently sit in 6th position, with 2 games to go in the league campaign! 6 points on offer, and only a 5 point gap to the playoff! It can still be done but looks very unlikely.
The Squad
We have some really good quality in the team, and I'm not too disappointed with what I've got at my disposal. Obviously, I'll look to strengthen after the season finishes.
Frederico Vinas is the pick of the boys up front, and hopefully, he will be my main goalscorer.
Maximilliano Lemos is probably the best player at the club. The centre midfielder will have the hopes of the fans pinned on him.

I've only gone and got myself another coaching qualification. This means I currently have a National A License. I have asked the board at my new club to send me on the next course but they refused because of the financial situation at the club. We are in serious debt and I don't see that changing so that's quite frustrating.

What a player this lad looks. He's an instant starter at LB. I'm hoping to train him as a wing-back as well, but I'm ecstatic to get him on board.

He's a fairly late addition to the squad but he's a good competition for the main Strikers role. I'm hoping him and Vinas can score a shed load of goals between them.

I really didn't want to let him go, and fought for him to stay but he had his heart set on it and was winding the dressing room up. The baord stepped in and sold him.
PRE SEASON RESULTS
A decent pre season behind us now. 7 games played, 2 losses and 5 wins. That's good enough for me. The players should be full of fitness and should be ready to start the season in a couple of days time. We scored a total of 12 goals in these friendlies and let only 5 in which is always a good sign!

@HawkAussie, you'd like to think so wouldn't you. For a start, I think the names in the Uruguayan league are easier to pronounce which makes things easier for me haha.
@bigmattb28, I think getting sacked was a blessing in disguise to be honest with you. This club are a better fit for me and have the backing to do a bit better than I could have done in Chile.
