European away woes are something of a Portuguese speciality. We're shite away from home in Europe and what Porto did was nothing short of a cataclysm.

Hard draw, the next six games consist of;
- Both semi final legs
- 2nd leg of the Portuguese cup semi final
- Portuguese league cup final
- Two league games

Gonna be all about keeping the squad fresh and rotated, league games and Portuguese semi go on the back burner.

Kuijt banned for the Chelski games because he's on loan from them, this is some Courtois shit this.

Hardest part of this two legged affair has been overcome. My next two games are the League Cup final and the return leg.

Tremendous season for Borges, FM should bring in an All Star team feature. I'd love to see Mirandela's greatest all line up together. Carlos Santos feeding the ball through to Borges, just imagine.

Lost the League Cup final 4-3 on pens, wasn't a priority but its still annoying to lose out on penalties. Played a semi rotated team but we still should have had enough to win. The CL shall be my salvation.

Put it like this, its HT in the Chelski return game and Wasilewski, my CB, thinks he's Ronaldinho.

The League Cup is small fry compared to what we are aiming for, we're due another CL victory and surely this is the year for it. No matter what happens from now till the end of the season I've been pleasantly surprised by this squad. Had my doubts at the start of the season but certain key players have really dragged the team through some tough spots.

Man Utd await us in the Semis, we fell to them this time last year. Revenge.

Already looking towards next season, may sell a few first teamers just to save myself on high paid renewals. The likes of Mogi and Chokito have under performed and they are two massive financial assets, if I sell them I'll be looking for about 40m for Mogi and 28m for Chokito.

Plus, I don't like Chokito.

Offered the pair of them out for 40m just to test the waters, City have come in with £37.5m for Mogi and Barca have bid £33.5m for Chokito. Both bids accepted. Hopefully they accept the contracts and save me on some hassle, looking forward to promoting two new strikers next season already.

Real Madrid have spent 135m on players from me and Man City have splashed out 150m, not including the potential Mogi sale.

While looking through the transfer records I forgot two of my belters;
- I didn't spent a single penny until the 2057/2058 when I signed a CB from Africa for 16k
- Didn't spend over 50k on a player until the 2068/2069 season when I signed a lad for £1m

I always miss those days, money makes things too easy in FM, within ten years of buying my first £1m I'd won the Champions League.

Do you have any replacements for them?

Out on loan, probably gonna give Gligic his long awaited Mirandela debut next season and the other slot will go to one of a few players.

Currently just going round snapping up the best 15 and 16 year olds from across Europe, willing to spend upwards of 10m for the best teenagers. If they flop, they flop, but if one or two make it they will be getting sold for 40m+ each. Well worth the risk when we are this stable financially.

Brilliant to see more money coming in, Borges once again rinsing the goals in such few apperances!

The problem has never been the home form, its being away that hurts us. We dare screw this up.

What valuation have you set for Borges? Must be high if it was £28 million for a player you did not like

60m value, realistically if I do choose to cash in I think I'll be getting 45/47m for him. The game seems reluctant to break the 50m mark for any player, Borges could test that mettle.

Put it like this, Man Utd turned it round and beat me 5-0 at theirs.

FM14 looms. Few weeks, need to sort some work and then sort some leagues out to play in.

Are you tempted to do the exactly the same as this on FM14?

Dunno really, the main aim for FM14 is to get the right leagues in place so I can do as I please. For example I want the Dutch leagues down a couple of tiers, so if I do want to takeover a smaller team and build them up then the option is there for me.

Right now the only leagues that I will definitely load are the Dutch, USA (down to NASL leagues) and the Mongolian league.

What about Spain? I believe they can go right back to Segunda Division B?

Spain is in my thoughts, don't want too many big European leagues though as I don't want to get sucked into just managing in the big nations.

Had a look on Steam and there is a Dutch DB that goes to the third tier, but I want to go down further. Gonna fanny on in the editor in the next few weeks and see what I can cook up.

Have you checked the Editors forum over on the SI website? Some pretty deep leagues in some of those areas.

The Dutch lower leagues would be fun , trying to emulate Ajax' blueprint perhaps using young players from the academy. Or Belgium. Cos Belgium is super cool.
