Starting thread as this was taking over another one
Read this https://sortitoutsi.net/content/57138/how-to-access-advanced-rules
if you are interested in having a go at it
Issues you need to address are-
1. stopping clubs qualifying for other UEFA comps whilst being in the ESL
I address this in link
2.You need to do this in continental rules only
NB You do not use a nation to set the competition rules … it is a Continental Competition so it is set to Europe(even if it is not an official UEFA comp, that makes no difference)

Just to follow up on this- if the clubs were to join a super league but be kicked out of their respective Football Associations, removed from their domestic divisions, and banned from UEFA and FIFA competitions, then setting up the ESL as a nation is an alternative to making it a continental competition. By doing this, you can move those teams completely out of their national football associations, and out of UEFA, and potentially make players forefit their national team eligibility by becoming an ESL ‘citizen’, allowing them to play in the ESL but barring them from internationals.
Anyway, all hypothetical now!
I still dont believe there's any way to edit which teams qualify for the Champions League/ Europa league ect. without rebuilding the competitions from scratch (which means you lose the colours and 'qualified for' annotations in the domestic top divisions). The method you describe in the other thread allows you to edit the Champions League itself but not the teams that qualify or it (For example, if I wanted to make 8 English teams qualify and no Spanish teams- that would not be possible). This means that if you create the Super League as an additional European competition, you'll have to rebuild the continental club structure from scratch to set which clubs qualify for it.
If I'm wrong about that though, and there is a way of editing which teams from which nations qualify for UEFA Competitions, I would love to know!

Hi good day! There is a possible way to make only the founding Clubs of the European Super League participate in your competition. But the competition is continental, and not domestic, without being able to participate in UEFA tournaments.
L55DS
Yes have looked at this before but unfortunately this system means the leagues no longer show the green and blue bands indicating European qualification for finishing in certain places, which is pretty frustrating. If this problem was fixed, it would be great!

Have raised this issue here.

@Carlito85
Would be good if people could add a few comments showing the strength of feeling about this issue.

Replied to the thread mate.
Unfortunately the colour bands are linked to the domestic league's qualification rules instead of the continental file. This means if you want each league to show the accurate amount of qualification places you'd have to edit the nation rules for each country in Europe so that they match up with the continental file you're using. That's why I left the qualification places blank in my UEFA project because I have so many different variants.
Also explained the “Show Continental Cup Seedings” option. That is definitely bugged as it doesn't show up this year for continental competitions but it does for international ones.
@kingrobbo Am I right in thinking you were working on the Super League? If so is everything up and running for it?

Still tweaking when I get time mate
