crash when loading a save with a personnal database

Hi Everyone !

I think that I’m posting this in the good part of the forum, if it’s not the case please tell me

I’m facing a weird issue and I’m looking for feedbacks from people who do their own database.

My problem is the following: I made my own personal database (as I do for every version of FM, I make some modifications in clubs, players, create some medias, some rewards… and basic French rules to play in N3). This year, I have a problem that I don’t understand: when I reach 65k changes, the game is crashing when I load the game. I explain myself: nothing happen in the editor when I’m testing the rules, so I Can create the new game and save the game without any problem. It only appears when I load the created game, it crashes every time (only a pop up with “the game can’t be loaded” appears

I asked Sega for help, but the only answer is : “we only take a look at problems happening on the vanilla version. Create a game without your database”. Nice answer…

I spent a lot of hours on this database and I’m very disappointed with this situation.

Did anyone faced the same issue? Is there a known solution?

For information, I tried to uninstall and re install the game, to put out the graphics folder… but everytime the same result. When i delete some changes to have 63/64k changes, it works very well 😢

this can happen you may have a corrupt file etc

lovely response from SI [I have reported 4 bugs 3 remain unanswered and are months old , but I have found north of 40 bugs most of which I have reported previously so see no point in doing so again ]

I feel for you as I have been there and after 100s of hours of editing too

only thing I would try is removing cache -

C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME HERE\AppData\Local\Sports Interactive

the FM21 folder looks like this[copy +back it up and save to desktop and you can return it to the folder later if needed ]

you can remove cache+temporary folders or delete the whole FM21 Folder- you will lose your game set up etc 

then launch the save again if it doesnt open then its buggered mate

As you can guess, I spent more than 100s hours, so it breaks my heart (to be very polite…)

I tried your advice, this was a good idea but unfortunately it doesn't work. This bug is linked with somethingelse (on the editor? on one parameter?…) and only SI or Sega can answer to this question… I will wait for an other comment or feedback and if nothing, the only thing I can do is to limitate my changes to 64500… for the first time since I'm playing FM, I won't have my full personnal database 😢

@kingrobbo : Hi again. I was thinking that I could ask you for a favour. In order to determine if the problem comes from my computer or a corrupted file in my FM20, could you create a new game with my fmf file? If it works for you, it means that I'm the only problem…

If you agree, you will find attached:

• 2 FMF file (one with modifications ont the club/palyers and the other with new media sources etc…): BDD 1 test + z BDD …
• one another fmf file with the initial game setup (leagues I retain, number of players…) “départ optimisé”

If you can't no problem, I will insist with SI

I am not running FM 20 anymore sorry its removed from my C drive the image I posted earlier shows previous ‘local’ use in AppData folder of SI products too
