Disappearing game

Can anyone offer an explanation, please? I've just completed my first season of FM2022 and am about to start the new season. I've done some tidying of folders on my laptop, but definitely not deleted anything  to do with FM. In fact, I've just uploaded a face pack. 

I've now gone to play the game again, but the desktop logo had disappeared and, entering via Steam, it takes me right back to start the first season all over again, although it shows that I've played 101 hours! I cannot find the saved game anywhere. Any ideas, please? Or will I have to start all over again?

Did you save the game on the cloud, and you're looking on your system, perhaps? Or vice-versa?
