1. Download this program
2. Install it
3. Run it
(This was the simple part)
4. Now you should see small window with an Edit box, some buttons, check-boxes and radio buttons
5. First you have to choose working directory. You can get it in several ways:
- Use Browse button
- Type it or paste from clipboard
- Drag the directory on fmXML window (my preferred)
6. Next - choose Action from these 2 options:
- Make config.xml file
Use this if you have made faces/logos/kits for some players/clubs/competitions
- Translate file names to IDs
Use this if you have downloaded a face pack which contains files, named as player real name, not ID,
but you want to copy them in another folder (to avoid duplicates or whatever another reason).
This works with face/logo packs, but not with kits
(may be implemented later)
7. Object - choose one
- faces - for player/coach faces
- kits - for club/nation kits
- nation logos - for national FA logos
- competition logos - for competition logos
- club logos - for (surprise) club logos
8. Options
- All filenames are IDs
If filenames of these graphics already are resource ID numbers (which you can find in FM
2005 using option to show unique IDs), you can tick this checkbox.
Use this only if filenames ARE IDs. If they are not, you will end up with config.xml files with IDs as 0,
and they will not work in the game.
If you do not tick this checkbox, new dialog will pop up, asking you for resource ID for each
file. Find appropriate ID and insert it. For kits there are more options.
- Process dragged folders
This lets you speed up some things. If ticked, you can drag multiple folders on fmXML window to
process them as a batch. N!B! you can not change graphics type in batch mode. So ensure that all
files in these folders are from the same type.
9. GO button starts the job (in batch mode it starts automatically).
11. Edit XML
It is a simple config.xml file viewer/editor. It is very simple, but can be useful. There is an issue that you can
use TAB key normally. To get a TAB symbol, use Ctrl+TAB.
12. When the work is done, click Close. There is no surprise that it just quits program 🙂
And remember, when the work is done, share it with others.

I am completely lost can you help?
Thanks in advance

I've had this problem before, just Google "MFC70.DLL download" and you should find a few sites where you can download this from. All you have to do is unzip the file and put it in C:\Windows\System32.
This should fix the problem.

"The program can't start because MSVCR70.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
I've tried it tonnes of times, any ideas please??
blackmetalboon
Just follow the advice from the above post, but search for "MSVCR70.dll" instead. As these programs were written a few years ago, probably for Windows XP/Vista you will find several ".dll" files are missing on newer versions of Windows.
Hope this helps.

No problem.
I'm using Windows Vista and the process was pretty straight forward for me, what version of Windows are you using & what else did you have to do? I only ask so that if anyone else has the same problem we have a solution!

You need at least one FM game (they all come with FM Editor, where you can get the UIDs from easily)

Am I still missing something here? I've not edited the ID's of each picture yet, but shouldn't the pictures (cutouts) already come with the right ID if I've downloaded them all from the download section? I downloaded through mirrors.

Yes it is HARD! not only it does not work but any solutions given by Google sucked on my PC. SO is there any PROPER solution for this error? FMguru also is not working on my rig (Win 7Prof 64bit - legit)

First of all, I don't know what you're looking to achieve by posting that rant here. Although this is an SI-affiliate site, we don't decide what graphics go into the boxed version of the game as we're just a fansite. Not much we can do there
Secondly, if you can't get facepacks to work, I respectfully submit that this is nothing to do with SI, but with your lack of understanding of the mostly basic installation instructions thereof. Thousands of people have managed to install them and hardly any of them come here effing and blinding at SI. If you're having issues, then use the respective facepack forum to ask for assistance with a modicum of manners.
Thirdly, if you think FIFA Manager is so awesome, how come you're here on this FM fan-site?
Fourthly, the reason that SI cannot provide us with licensed graphics for some leagues is that other companies (e.g. EA and Konami) hold EXCLUSIVE long-term rights to them, and it is therefore impossible to include them. This is where the FM community comes in, and provides you and everyone else with downloadable graphical content to enhance your game. Moreover, if you read the game's licensing information, it's made clear which graphical content is included and which not so I'm not sure why you think you've paid for something which is not included in the price
Fifthly (if such a word exists), grow up and stop being such an entitled cry-baby.
