I watched Inglourious Basterds again a couple of nights ago and on second viewing that is an even better film. Modern classic as far as I'm concerned.

So over the weekend I've watched, A Fistful Of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

I'm now exhausted.

I reeeeeeally want to see the Fistful of Dollars trilogy, how good are the films? Bearing in mind I'm not a massive western fan but I do love me some Clint Eastwood.

On that note I watched In the Line of Fire recently and although I struggled to get over the fact there was a 60-something year old Eastwood getting it on with some 30-ish (maybe?) year old woman I quite enjoyed it.

Well, given the spaghetti western style used, they aren't like your traditional western film. They are all good films though and a solid trilogy, even if they could have been condensed into shorter lengths. Worth a watch if you're into the style, otherwise you might find them boring for the most part. Also you'll need to ignore the poorly dubbed over voices and it pays to watch with subtitles on. So if you're fussy over that sort of thing, probably best to not even bother.

Also just watched Dirty Harry, such a classic.

For A Few Dollars More is brilliant.

Best Spaghetti Western though is without a doubt Once Upon A Time In The West.

Do yourself a favour and avoid the first two sequels. They're absolute shit.

Sudden Impact and The Dead Pool aren't great films by any means, but they are at least decent.

As cool as bowties and a fez. That way you can see the film without interruption

Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Typical rom com storyline, how it differed from rom coms though was that it was quite funny. Mila Kunis is fit as fuck. I could even put up with Russell Brand. Bit too much of Jason Segel's cock though.

But plenty of Mila Kunis, although this is more Mila Kunis:

I went to see that in the cinema, and it was about midday on a friday. I must have been the youngest there by about 40 years. Had to use my coat to cover my crotch during that scene.

One of my favourite movies, I'd say it's very good, just depends on what you like.

Give it a watch, I don't think you'll think it's dreadful or anything like that.

Watched Around The World In 80 Days for the first time in years. Easily one of those films you'd show to someone if they asked for a film that summed up the best of cinema.

The KKK scene was hilarious. Loved the film, Tarantino's second best imo.

That is was.

One thing though.

I'm I the only one who thought the whole bit leading up to Dr Schulz shooting Candie was a bit pointless. Why shoot the guy when he could have just shaken his hand, come back later and got his revenge rather than killing him when he was in an impossible position?

Apart from that, I thought it was excellent. Length was fine because it was well paced, never thought that it was dragging on.

In short:

Because Schultz is a proud moron, who refuses to let Candie best him. Even if it is only just for a moment.

Indeed, but he was happy to leave before he asked for the handshake but, nevertheless, still bested by Candie

Compare it to the Hazard thing. It was dumb and he should've known better, but Candie WAS being a little shit, and I can't really blame him for shooting him.

Oslo, August 31st. Absolutely great. Simply a beautifully made film just like Reprise before it, Joachim Trier is a truly talented director.

Mickey Rourke's got to be one of the most underrated actors. The man was (and still sometimes is) a fucking genius.
(Just saw Angel Heart.. very good film, brilliant performance)
