@Rowan, will you be looking for picture sources if you intend to do more?

Others might, I don't have the time to spend cutting out atm, but I'm sure if you wanted to post some links it may help others.

Whilst looking for sources, which I did successfully, I got a but carried away...
They were pre-cut images so I take no credit there, I just cropped and resized them.

Just curious as to how you made the frankenregens? I'm interested in making a few of my own.

It reasonably easy, the best way is to use faces from a team pack as they will usually have simular lighting/colouring and makes it blend them together.

Just use one face as you base image, then cut out eyes, noses, hair etc.. from other players and paste them on top of it (usually best to add them as another layer so that you can move them around easier).

To help blend the parts together I use a blur tool on the edges of each item I have cut out.

Finally just save it as a .png file.

Hi, I used the faces collected here to make and automatic replacement of the regen faces pack here:

What program are you using to edit the config file? Notepad and Wordpad should do it without any problems.

Just used Notepad to change the CHANGE ME and that worked fine.

I've replaced the UID with the CHANGE ME and saved it as a .txt file

I have the original .PNG regen image, and now a file (which I assume is the saved config file) that I named with the UID, which says it is a PNG image, however it's unviewable in my regen folder due to 'photo viewer not supporting the file format.'

Is this normal, should the config be a PNG image?

When I go back into FM and untick 'show UID' and reload the skin the image is not showing up.

In your Regen folder you should have the Regen Image (re-named to the players UID) and a config file (this should be called config, this is where you may have gone wrong).

If you have changed the two "CHANGE ME" sections in the line to the players UID and then saved as a .txt file, the config file should be ok.

I'm not sure why the image is "not viewable", do you mean the image or the text file?

If it is the image and you have a program that will save images as .png files (Photoshop, GIMP, Paint.net) try loading the image and then save it again as a .png.

Got it! Finally haha

The final problem was that I was changing the name when saving the config file to the UID, instead of leaving it as 'config.'

Special thanks go to Rowan and Blackmetalboon for all their help!

I'm having some trouble again after my first youth intake.

I'm only able to have 1 regen pic at a time, so I know I must be doing something wrong.

I've tried making a config file for each which didn't work because I had to rename them (otherwise they'd overwrite) and it seems FM is unable to handle renaming

And I've tried like Mons says in the OP to use 1 config file and copy paste the CHANGE ME line and add the other UID.

(It says to use either FM.xml or FM Guru however both the links are to nothing)

The easiest way of doing this is;

1. Place all the regen faces you are going to use into a single folder.

2. Rename each one with the relevant UID found within the game.

3. Place the config template into this folder and open it with Notepad (There should be only one config file in this folder).

4. For every regen face you will need to copy and paste the line <record from="CHANGE ME" to="graphics/pictures/person/CHANGE ME/portrait"/>. So if you have 7 faces you wish to use you will need to have this line 7 times in the config file.

5. Replace the "CHANGE ME" section of each line with the UID of the player. Each line should have a different UID as each line will be for a different player.

EXAMPLE;
<record from="1394631307" to="graphics/pictures/person/1394631307/portrait"/>
<record from="1394631314" to="graphics/pictures/person/1394631314/portrait"/>
<record from="1394631389" to="graphics/pictures/person/1394631389/portrait"/>
<record from="1394631923" to="graphics/pictures/person/1394631923/portrait"/>
<record from="1394631955" to="graphics/pictures/person/1394631955/portrait"/>
<record from="1394632022" to="graphics/pictures/person/1394632022/portrait"/>
<record from="1394632129" to="graphics/pictures/person/1394632129/portrait"/>

Save the changes made to the config file.

6. Go back to your game preferences>Display & Sound and click confirm. They should now be visable in game.

You can keep adding new regen images to this folder, but for every image you will need to add an additional line into the config file and go back to your game preferences>Display & Sound and click confirm for them to show.

Hope this helps.

It's working ok for me, but I do know that other people have had problems with Gamefront, so I've uploaded to another site.

Hope this helps Mediafire Link - Config Template

Is it possible to create a version of this where you don't have to edit the config file, and instead regen faces are replaced automatically, and are divided by races / regions ?

I have a pack that works that way, but it has way less faces than this one.
