I can see what your mum saw in him. That hair, those shades, incredible.

He makes a joke but it's kinda like when you insult somebody and say that it was a joke after, which is really stupid to say. He probably didn't mean to insult Ronaldo but still there was no reason for him to say that.

Hardly an insult to say he's like a soldier on the field whilst Messi is like a goody-two-shoes. Ronaldo has come out on FB and Twitter and basically said how this shows how biased FIFA are against him and that he'll never win anything with Blatter there.

He also said Ronaldo has more expenses on his hairdresser, which is a joke but really no need to say it to the public especially in what is supposed to be a neutral position. He's certainly not paid to be the president of FIFA to say that he prefers Messi as well.

Fuck off, prick though Blatter undoubtedly is, he's allowed to express an opinion. This is just Ronaldo being whiney.

Shut up you mong, he's allowed to express an opinion but obviously when it comes to a question like that and you're the president of FIFA, you definitely should be more cautious in giving an answer. If it involved one of your City players in that whole feud I'm sure you'll be unhappy.

He didn't say he prefers Messi at all

Whoops, he said exactly that. I meant that he didn't say he thinks Messi is better, he just prefers him as a person, judging by his preceding comments. I'm guessing he just means he likes his 'character' better

He wasn't speaking as Sepp Blatter FIFA President, though. He's allowed to express a preference. If it was an official FIFA event or he was actually representing FIFA it might be different but he wasn't, he was at a private event voicing a personal opinion. Anybody who has an issue with that can sit down and shut up.

Unhappy that he's said one of them spends more on his hair than the other? I couldn't give a shit. It's such a monumentally trivial thing to get annoyed about. If he'd said that he thinks Ronaldo is a preening, petulant, prima-donna who should act his age instead of bitching and complaining like a 12 year-old, then he'd have reason to be annoyed. As it is, he doesn't and he just comes off as being exceptionally thin-skinned and more than a little petulant.

United fan, prefer Ronaldo to Messi, yet Ronaldo's being a whiney bitch over a jokey comment.

Jesus he's taking the piss now.

Surely he or FIFA can't allow another nation to host it along with Qatar after other countries went through the bidding process, paid whatever it was they had to pay and lost. Qatar won the rights to host it in 2022, not Iran or the UAE.

They're gonna get a legal challenge from Australia (possibly the Olympics as well) as soon as they move it to winter. They'll lose as as well.

Out of all them countries, Austrailia are the only ones who had a realistic chance besides Qatar, but they already have a decent football base so Qatar was a better option

You need to factor in domestic season ticket holders as well. If it moves to the Winter then a lot could be thrown out of the window like work commitments and such due to the shift in fixtures,

The nominees for goal of the year;

Ibra for me out of that lot. shame Pogba's strike against Napoli the other day would have missed the cut-off date as that was a real beauty.
