Yeah you are right, I tried to use an eraser to take out some of the red and was too aggressive with it especially around the top hair.

I don't think it's possible to remove snow on photopea or gimp in a method similar to clone stamp within Photoshop. As you can see, using the eraser does not produce results which retain hair detail sufficiently well, so this is something which should only really be done in Photoshop imo...
