There is no need to leave such a large gap between the bottom of the chin and the bottom of the canvas. 2-3 pixels are sufficient. In order to also keep a bit of collar in the cut, there is a technique in the guide to cutting thread on how to do so. Essentially you lasso a bit of collar and nudge it upwards
