Jamie Pollock-esque.

Hmmm - I'd say Barry's is almost but not quite as good. It would be if he'd just wellied it into the top corner.

Much as Bale is overhyped he is still a good player, and even better when given the room to do his thing. Like today. Coloccini was dreadful and both full backs seemed to struggle a wee bit.

Not that it helped our aim of a share of the spoils that we found a defender with almost every attack and with such accuracy.

Is the lights operator at Fulham that pissed off at their recent form?

As an aside, am I right in thinking that's the second time this season Man U have had to go off due to floodlight failure?

Having spent most the season wondering why Jonas is still starting credit where it's due - that was a good header. Hopefully his season can pick up now.

Well, if QPR stay up, he can always recycle the shirt for the summer

If that was a Redknapp deal then he would have cost the same but Newcastle would have only got £30M

Nah he would've given us £40M

Peter Odemwingie is such an arse. Bet he'll be crying into his newly bought Hoops shirt and everything...

I only watched the last 15 minutes - was kinda gutted I couldn't actually go - but I only remembered maybe two clear cut chances and the rest being either aimless punts, or Benteke knockdowns no Villa player got near.

Haidara is basically a back-up LB, although whether he gets any game time is another matter. We could still use another striker but beggars can't really be choosers, especially in such a poor market for buyers.

Sissoko-Cabaye-Anita currently looks like a stronger midfield given that Tiote has been poor this season so far, but who knows - maybe this increased competition will double as a kick up the arse for him.

The worst was the guy I saw with a garland of onions round his neck

It feels so weird that in 10 days we've gone from the self-destruction of Reading and full on crisis to an almost unprecedented transfer spree (well, in Ashley terms) and now looking like we could be about to (touchwood) pull clear of the danger zone. Excellent stuff

Tony Fernandes claiming he'll step down as chairman if QPR get relegated, and Redknapp says that if QPR buy well in this transfer window, they'll be able to avoid relegation.

Well, the likes of Shaun Derry and 'Arry are not doing any good for their team by hitting out at their "overpaid" players and creating separation between them and the players who've stayed at the club longer. The overpaid players may not be performing up to expectations, but it surely does no fucking good criticizing them through the public? I'd be quite happy to see them relegated, even though Park is there, shame on him.

Also it has been confirmed that QPR reached a deal for Yun Suk-young, the LB who impressed for Korea Rep. during the Olympics and he attended the QPR vs MK Dons match. Fuck me, he now knows what he's getting into

As much as they did well to get themselves a point tonight, this sort of thing is only bad news and unhelpful for their attempts to avoid the trapdoor. Apparently the likes of Derry and Redknapp had a stand-off with the "overpaid" options after the Dons clash, which certainly points to a terrible harmony that could take 'em down.

Bet QPR will sign more players in the rest of the week and still go down.

For the second leg at Stamford Bridge, Monaco were guarding a 3-1 advantage. “After 10 minutes Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink cut my ankle,” recalls Evra. “It was really open, you could see the bone. The doctor signalled for a substitution. I just grabbed his hands and said, ‘If I come out [off], I kill you’. He made me a big bandage and the blood was pouring out, I still have the scar. I finished the first half and he said, ‘Pat, you need to come out because it can break’.

“I said, ‘This is a semi-final, I don’t care, I play with one leg. I don’t care’.”

Evra rolls up a trouser leg, removing his sock to display the broad, ragged scar at the top of his stronger foot. After inflicting the first of several Champions League heartbreaks on Abramovich, the left-back had the flesh pulled back together with nine stitches, then again refused to plead injury. “It was very painful but I played with a meat. I was putting a chicken as protection,” he explains matter of factly.

A chicken? Is the playful Frenchman taking advantage of his questioner? “Seriously, I swear it’s true. When the doctor saw that technique he said, ‘What are you doing?’ I remember I was going to the butcher and saying, ‘I want one piece, but small’. I know some people can say, ‘Yeah, people don’t have food, but Pat he puts meat in the boots’, but it helped me a lot. I couldn’t feel the ball too much but it protected me a lot. I played one month with the meat in my boots.”

The month included Monaco’s defeat in the Champions League final to a Porto team managed by Jose Mourinho. “The most funny thing is, after the game, the meat was cooked. Not ready to eat, but a little bit cooked.”

It's a novel way to play through the pain barrier, plus I suppose it helps prepare the chicken to standards KFC can be happy with

Evra's amazing how many players have played a Champions League Semi Final with a lump of chicken in a wound?

Yeah, exactly.

Also, I'm certain the ITV commentator just mistook Sczesney for Kuzsuack.

What?

And yes - I was watching that and he said Kuzsckak made the save when it was the Arsenal keeper making one.

Talking of ITV, it says a lot they had a genuinely interesting cup tie in the form of Norwich-Luton which ultimately provided the day's - possibly the decade's - biggest shock, and instead they showed a mediocre all Premiership clash that Sky & ESPN have both already passed on twice this season. Not as bad as ESPN picking Man U-Fulham when they're showing it again next weekend in the Premiership, mind...

Haha. Was good timing, but I was thinking more along the lines of Mesbah, Constant etc. If Balotelli did go to Milan I don't know whether he'd actually knuckle down or not, could easily go either way. He'll end up there eventually though at some point.

I thought the Milan clubs are more famous for baffling swap deals - Milan got Seedorf and Pirlo, while Inter got some relatively fair poor alternatives - than sinking vats of cash into no hopers. But yes that does seem to be one of their habits, and a strange one at that.

Hate the Milan clubs' transfer policy. Never particularly liked Juventus but they've built a very strong team and are always trying to improve, on the other hand Inter and Milan just take the money, run, and go and buy some no-hoper.

I think they're able to field 10 French outfielders now - just a goalkeeper missing, yep.

Yup - all we need is the 2nd/3rd choice French national keeper and then we complete the set.

I still can't help but feel like we need an extra CB and/or additional striker. But at this stage there's the risk of a QPR where too many additions would destabilise the squad. Suppose it depends on what Coloccini does... do we legitimately have a case that San Lorenzo are attempting to tap him up?

Three games for Hazard is fair enough. Any more is insane.

Saying that, there's limits. Any police investigations are AOT, and some of the coverage - not least one newspaper column where the ballboy was described as "everything wrong with modern Britain" - is almost beyond insanity.
