this is great work, but does it have much affect on actual game play? do more transfers happen? do newgens appear more in different nations with 2nd nationalities?

yes, but since to use the new stadiums you need to start a new game, you can easily use the save game file found in the download. 

 

yes but i have my own files that i use so I'd lie to start a new game with them and this one added.

Hi

Sorry, me again…

Only 2400 has an edt folder within it for me. 2300, 2330 and 2340 have only a dbc and inc folder; for these ones do I just delete these two and replace with the new dbc and inc folders only?

 

So 

3 out 3 in for 2400 - dbc, edt and lnc

&

2 out 2 in for 2300, 2330 and 2340 - dbc and inc

 

Is that right?

 

Each folder also has a folder within it with the same number, underscore fm eg. '2400_fm’ which are the ones to leave I think?

 

Sorry for being so precious but I am host to an online game and the grief I will get if I mess this up…

you can copy all 3 to the 2300,2330 & 2340 folders, it will still work. best to have FM closed while doing this or if you have it open you'll need to close it and open again to see the changes

Folks - you can also enjoy the SS style default kits in the Editor.

To do this you need to edit an XML file called called special folders.xml which you will find in ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2021 Editor (take a back up first just to be on the safe side).

Open special folders.xml in a text editor:

Amend the file path (only) in the line highlighted above to match the file path to your SS style kits.

For example:

And if you also amend the line underneath (as I have done) and you can also see your custom logos (e.g. Metallic logos) when in the editor.

Save the file and then load up your editor. It's that simple.

If your editor won't load then I'd recommend undoing the changes you've made. To be honest, it really is not worth the effort just to see the SS style kits in the editor. Seemed cool at the time, but now it's pretty much “meh”. The editor is not the game itself, and (unless you are addicted to tinkering) you will only use it once in a blue moon so it really isn't worth the effort.

 

I had to reformat my laptop a few months ago and haven't bothered making these changes on my current installation. Still use the SS style default kits in-game though (along with the SS kits packs, metallic logos, facepacks etc.) just don't bother with making them show in the editor.

 

On your separate note, I think that would work OK - I can't see why it wouldn't but I haven't tried anything like that myself. Just make sure you take a backup of the .fmf file before you start messing with it because if you don't and things go tits up you might well end up having to reinstall your game. I'm a great one for not following my own advice there - to my cost!

 

cheers mate, I managed to get it working. i moved the kits and logos in graphics\pictures\…..  i'll make sure for FM22 all my files follow that path first. i'ts useful for me as i like to do alot of tinkering and it's useful to see the kits and logos in the editor.

 

I've got your default kits working so won't bother messing with the fmf. so won't bother trying for now. i'll wait for FM22 to start messing with things

Yes I do. I have my User Data folder in a custom location (D:\Football Manager User Data) but everything inside that is structured as per the default location (C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021) so path for me is:

 

D:\Football Manager User Data\graphics\pictures\ etc.

 

must've done something wrong, my editor wouldn't load. do i need to follow any special path.

 

on a separate note, i know it's more complicated but could i use the resource extractor and replace the default kits with your ones then repackage the file.

Do you have all your graphics in the pictures sub folder, So graphics\pictures\kits,logos,faces etc?
