PRE SEASON

So i've been drawn in the Taca De Liga (1st Phase) in a group with:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/T9uMdCRbsjjYKtXTNzWxrvzJtRfLCAi9cRf71jmz.png

I'm pretty confident I can come out of this group and progress in the cup, hopefully will gain a bit of money as well to help boost the coffers.

https://sortitoutsi.b-cdn.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ZXA80BWdVjRgYrjSGyhSRDBZZEYESTduIIA2evdr.png

My friendlies were a big success having gone through unscathed and unbeaten. A new tactic for the lads to get used to with a 5-2-1-1 formation favouring an attacking style which seems to be working.

I HAVE A JOB.

After my many interviews, having to travel across Europe to meet with many potential future employers I decided upon my future. My first step into management is on the beautiful Island of Madeira with 'Uniao de Madeira'

UNIAO DE MADEIRA
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/B09zqvmeqkWYOToSZ8skSixH5cQcBWkA2H1dPQnT.png

Uniao de Madeira play their football in the Liga 2 Cabovisao which is equivalent to the Portuguese 2nd division. The club has no nickname but plays their football at the Estadio Municipal do Machico which holds around 3,300 people at it's capacity. It has good training facilities with basic youth facilities, which is something I will aim to improve over the coming seasons.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/jWEmHCeMKwEOsxHKsyFHJOpNoY5b3YKZ2NkcsQRI.png

The board expects me to come somewhere in the middle of the pack but I'm expecting my team to challenge for promotion. Let's hope for a successful start to the season so I can set up the bases for a title challenge.

CARVING A PATH THROUGH EUROPE!

So I've decided to follow in DanW19s footsteps and I have now embarked on my own journey across Europe to see if I can compete for honours and become a football legend after starting out from the bottom being unemployed and unexperienced as a football manager.

So here are my details.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/G6zOu9IjUmoUVmYtdP7h8B2vsRgbjQTe68ZvwAma.png

A lowly unemployed manager from the inner depths of Manchester, with only the experience of sunday league football, who likes to play the 4-5-1 formation with a hint of attacking football in there.

Only the small number of 66 clubs needed a manager at the start of my game, ranging from the mighty Juventus in the Serie A to the lowly Port Talbot in the Welsh Premier League. I of course have applied to all 66 jobs.

Let's see where this will take me.

Lower league management is a favourite of mine, I love finding gems at the bottom and seeing how they develop into great footballers at these low levels.

Good luck with this. They really are proud of the fact they are the oldest club. I went to watch them last season as my team was in their league. Keep an eye out for them in the sister league: The Northern part.

OCTOBER

A month that didn't really go so well for me with mostly losses in the league, but a good progression in the Johnstone Paint Trophy. Also managed to re loan the sensational Joe Curtis for another 3 months and hope he can keep his form going.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/tV2lVWylhSXucYhDlLnXg0s8PkmFP77tT8DFqiVM.png

Plymouth Argyle: (H) 3-1: - A great victory here to start the month off, with the beast at the back as I've nicknamed him Baldwin popping up with another goal, and it wouldn't be a game without Curtis scoring again. Impressed with the lads here.

Hartlepool United: (H) 2-3: - A difficult game for us, and they just about edged it. Disappointed to have lost this one but we shall learn from this and hopefully won't lose to them again in the reverse fixture. Nichols scored with a brace, so thats a positive.

Scunthorpe United: (A) 2-1: - Another loss makes it two in the row, which is not what we needed. Didn't really get into the game but managed to get a goal through the other centre back Danny Coles.

Oxford United: (A) 2-0: - A third straight loss for the Grecians, and we never really looked like scoring or getting anything from this game. Very disappointing to say the least.

Burton Albion: (H) 5-1: - Back to winning ways on the return to St James Park. 5 goals is just what we needed, but a shame we couldn't keep a clean sheet. A classy hat trick from Tom Parkin was much well received here.

This left the table looking like this at the end of the month with us in 4th place.
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/i6Gr95BxT0YyRyw7Vf3g4ZRxtFbNPymXqtq92VAP.png

Johnstone Paint Trophy Southern

Torquay United: (A) 0-0p: - A tricky tie against a decent team in our division. Managed to sneak it on penalties after we should have scored plenty in the actual 90 minutes but just couldn't find the net. Onwards into the next round where Coventry await us.

SEPTEMBER

Another great month as I carry on my good form in the league and enter the Johnstone Paint Trophy South. My new loanee players are coming into a bit of form with Joe Curtis especially showing a lot of promise. Another excellent player out of the Southampton youth system.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/aIhh2mxVb55RLa4rkLCgci3slTDdERr1IUnJJko7.png

League:

Dagenham & Redbridge: (A): 0-2 - A great win to start the month with messers Baldwin and Curtis popping up with the goals once again. We look a real threat off set pieces with Baldwin scoring most of them.

Northampton Town: (A): 1-2 - Another win, but scraped through this one and luckily got an 89th minute winner from youngster John O'Flynn. Glad to have gained the 3 points here though.

Newport County: (H): 1-0 - An absolute screamer once again from the youngster Joe Curtis from about 40 yards. Deserved to be the goal that won us the game, and one that would certainly have impressed the home crowd.

Fleetwood Town: (A) 1-2 - A match that I thought would be a hard ask for us as they are usually a strong team, but we managed to win the game with relative ease. My two strikers Parkin and Nichols popping up with the goals for the Grecians.

These fixtures have left us joint top after 8 games of the season. Very impressed with my start and especially the impact of the loanees I have brought in. Hopefully we can kick on now and keep the momentum up and move away from Cheltenham in second place.

Table

Johnstone Paint Trophy Southern

Bristol Rovers: (H): 2-0 - A good win against a team we have already beaten once this season. Another great performance from the lads and Joe Curtis and Tom Nichols scored for us.

This season has led to the following awards happening involving Exeter City: Joe Curtis seemed to be all over the place

League Two Player of the Month

League Two Goal of the Month

Just finished August and I'm really happy with the start I have had. A relatively short run in the Capital One Cup but I really wasn't expected to win against Aston Villa and I put in a good fight against a strong team.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/7n6O0UGFziy5Eou3iZoXqJHlM2lUYPhlvG4byomD.png

League:

Bristol Rovers: (H) : 4-1 - A great start against what is a strong team in this league. Glad to have scored a lot of goals which will give the team confidence in their next few games. Shame to have conceded but we dominated throughout. A few goals for my left back Craig Woodman was a great little bag for him.

Mansfield: (A) : 0-3 - Another great result in the league, kept our first clean sheet of the season and another goal for Parkin who I'm hoping will get the majority of my goals this season. Baldwin keeps popping up with his share from corners.

AFC Wimbledon: (H): 0-0 - A bore draw here, could have gone either way to be honest, just no one took their chances, but a point is fine with me at this stage of the season.

Morecambe: (A): 0-3 - Great result against a mid table kind of team, who could surprise anyone on their day. Tom Parkin popped up again with two goals and the youngster Joe Curtis has settled down and scored a screamer for me to top off the the performance.

Capital One Cup:

MK Dons: (A) 1-4 - A great victory here against a team one league above us, once again proving we have the fire power up top. I swapped a few of the reserve and subs into the team to give them a bit of football.

Aston Villa: (A) 2-0 - I didn't expect to win this game, and we put a good performance in, shame we couldn't grab a goal but I am happy with that against a strong Premier League team.

EXETER CITY HIRE TONGE AS MANAGER

I thought I'd give Exeter City a go, and try and take them all the way up to the Premier League in as few a seasons as possible, and then aim to get them into Europe and just build them up bit by bit.

I'll be posting every couple of months (game time) with updates, and hopefully you will enjoy this.

Here are my first seasons winter transfers after managing to get Southampton as my parent club.
I got these two youngsters on loan to provide competition for first team places.

Joe Curtis:

Hey there,

I may be new to actually posting on this forum, but I've been a member for a while now and a huge fan of FM. I'm also a huge user of YouTube and have decided that it's time to start a series on their documenting a FM Career.

First of all I need a few suggestions.

1) A name for the series, and maybe even a channel name.
2) A team to manage for my first career save.

- I'm thinking either a lower league team and aim to get them into the premier league and then into Europe.
- A lower Premier League team and get them winning the Champions League within 3/4 Seasons
- A random European team and aim to become a legend in that country.
