[18]How to bypass verification

The linked thread above also includes my instructions on how to bypass verifying a file[The template cant be verified due to the way it was made]

so how  can we use a file when it wont verify in the editor[sometimes the silly errors the editor throws up has no bearing on the file actually working in game correctly]

NB You have to save the file using EXPORT, the file has to be XML and not fmf

once the file is saved using export and given a title to ID it close the editor

go to you editor data folder find the file and open it -

you by pass the verification by getting the file ‘’game ready ‘’ by using notepad +++ or just notepad

open the xml file-

remove that line below 

It will now look like this

Then save the file in notepad and close that App it can now be used in game

NB you have to do this again if you make any changes to the file in the editor.

IIRC there was a limit on the number of files you can load, cant remember the exact amount

but you need to post on the thread where you downloaded the file from to see if there is a fix etc

Also I added minor individual TV deals to the top 6- 1m a season so the other teams get the below amount- the top 6 nothing due to having own tv deals

so looking for other users to try this and then we can tweak the taxing etc to reign the elite in quickly and get a much better game IMO

some setting I am using for FFP+ Squad selection

non  EU 3 players -are limited to the ‘top 6’clubs

match day rules

8 homegrown for all teams

2 non EU again just for' top 6'

over 1 year check period

board can only invest £10m [negating the rich sugar daddy owners]

also no losses allowed -£10m

I have still imposed wage caps and squad restrictions but they are hit +miss

if you manage a squad [ I just took over a club on squad submission date] it wont let you exceed the wage cap

it stops you from submitting until you are under the amount

however I am seeing this from 1 or 2  AI teams, and there is  no punishment that I can see when they do this?

NB also seeing the AI elite clubs offloading several of their top players to counter the lack of 'huge income' and meet the wage cap

next test is to run  corporation taxes in all top nations only tried England/France at this stage, PSG taking an absolute kicking 

think this is a tad high for a team who isnt raking it in so some tweaking is needed would be good to get some other users testing this to see what the results are and then put  the best option in place

my goal is fairness and a level playing field so it isnt the same boring teams over and over at the top, its getting there but it could be better

Here is what I set in the editor

NB as with all editing 0 is the top division and so on[eg EPL is 0, Championship is 1 etc etc]

now there are already  corporation taxes set up initially in the DB- [there are 4 for England so I removed them  and replaced the entries as image 2]

this tax   would be country by country for the 'super tax'

I have removed the dirty dozen from UEFA comps and have them in a poorly funded ESL[if I just banned them from UEFA comps they had a weeks rest to prepare for the domestic games- this way they are playing more games for less money and domestic form suffers too👍]

 also increased the finances of UEFA comps so after a couple of years with the above measures the 'elites' are reigned back in along with a wage cap for domestic leagues it means the domination is almost over for the 'big 6'

in a 5 year sim so far Liverpool have won 1 title but by a point from Wolves -EPL has been won by Everton, Leicester,Leeds so it seems to be working

Swansea were in EPL replacing the relegated 6

As the title says I always try to set up a DB where ‘the elites’ are not dominant and winning everything all the time

usually it is FFP[but this doesnt really work as the game generates more money -new sponsorship deals/re finance debts to by pass any penalties]

Impose stringent squad rules eg no  non EU players etc and in a few seasons the elites have bought all the best domestic players

cut back the prize money it hits the lower clubs more long term

so as a test I have been  imposing a 'super rich tax'[ corporation tax]set at 70% for higher earners-lower earners are at 20%

so far the results are promising

Man Utd pay this at the end of the 20/21 season all their super sponsorship deals are smashed even when they announce new deals the following season it is swallowed up in tax 

now I am going to tweak this and see how capping high end plays out over a few years

[ran a quick sim with the top 6 relegated to second tier as punishment for ESL shenanigans and liverpool/city go up straight away but the other 4 are languishing in mid table] so the ‘super tax’ is working

You need to generate more income to avoid ffp so sponsorship is the way to go 

Either use pre game editor or fmrte to add more or increase value of the existing deals

That was down to the person picking the squad

personally I enjoyed the game far more then than now

seems to have the desired effect set corporation tax at 70% the massive profits even of new sponsorship deals are hammered 

I also put the ‘top 6’ in second division - due to this only Liverpool and Man City get back up in first 4 seasons others are really struggling spurs/arse mid table more likely to go down not up

it was 82 a second group stage when there was another set of 3 team groups

group was very strong Spain Germany England ..both 0-0 games and out of the WC unbeaten

squad was this and had 2 really good RBs and  the brilliant S.Coppell had started all other games on RW

yes I have edited FFP but the game is skewered towards the elite clubs and allows them to always get an ‘’upturn in revenue'' if they need it either more sponsorship or restructuring debt🤯

only way so far to get any desired impact is a salary cap[wont stop them having billions or signing players on high wages but it limits how many players they can have in the squad based on max wage] and stringent match day rules for certain teams

Yes that's what has happened in previous versions of the game so can't see why not for FM 21 too 👍

Rix was a good LM but no winger so its really odd seeing this as I have no memory of the game and England would nearly always play with at least 1 sometimes 2 out and out wingers and defo a RB at RB 

IIRC Mills played the odd game at RB for Ipswich but no way he would be playing there for England they had some really good options then..must be a competition/ finals and RB was out injured/suspended

so if I set lower amount/upper amount/ capped amount what would suggest 

looking to hammer the elite EPL teams so looks like you can set it to a division level not for the whole nation, which is good 0 is top division and so just want to tweak it that its kicking in for the top end profit wise [and this tax is net profit?]

I have no idea what the time frame is for? is this for a set anount of years this rule applies for
