Seems like you haven't downloaded the 24.3 official update then.

I assumed it would be automatically updated via steam. Interestingly the version number on the start screen says 24.4

EDIT: and on the reinstall the 2430 folder is present. Time to reinstall your fix.

OK, I'm doing a reinstall of Steam FM24 on my Macbook Air M3. After I installed this mod I suddenly could no longer load a save game from my Windows Laptop, which I was able to do with no problem until I added the name fix. I'm not blaming it on the name fix at this point (I used it in my Windows/PC game and I consider it a must have.)

Just moved to a new Macbook Air 15" M3 and immediately installed FM24 from Steam as well as moved my tactics, set pieces, etc. over. Runs well, but as I go to apply this must-have mod, I managed to find the 2400 folder under the db folder, deleted the files as instructed, but there is no 2430 folder.

Is the Mac version from Steam not updated to 2430? On the start screen, it shows it as V24.4

You really need to pay a bit more attention to what you're reading buddy 😉

From the first post:

If you have already started a save-game and wish to change German, Spanish, Italian and French club names to the correct ones, there is a workaround. However, you will lose the club nicknames.

Open the City, Club and Stadium Names.lnc file with Notepad (on Windows) and TextEdit (on Mac). All the changes I've made in the editor data file are included in this file, however they are preceded by a hashtag (#) which makes the lnc file ignore any text following it.

You can remove the hashtags from in front of any of the "CLUB_LONG_NAME_CHANGE" and "CLUB_SHORT_NAME_CHANGE" codes which you wish to change, and this will ensure these changes are displayed in your save game.

For Notepad, all you need to do is: Select the edit menu, click the replace option, type #"CLUB in the first field and "CLUB in the second and click replace all. Then save and close. Shouldn't take more than 3 seconds if you do it right 🙂

Instead of

#"CLUB_LONG_NAME_CHANGE" 915 "FC Bayern München" ""
#"CLUB_SHORT_NAME_CHANGE" 915 "FC Bayern" ""

you should have

"CLUB_LONG_NAME_CHANGE" 915 "FC Bayern München" ""

Yes I am indeed short on reading skills (embarrassing as I am a Ph.D. scientist, but my wife reminds me that only means I know a LOT about a very narrow range of things, LOL!) I changed that in the inc file in the 2430 folder and it seems to have worked (thank you.) Do I need to go in and change it in all of those, e.g. the 2400, 2300, 2330, etc?

Thanks very much for hanging in there with me and getting through my dense head, LOL! Oh and thanks VERY much for what must be a LOT of hard work on something that is truly an Essential mod. Cheers.

As per the main post, there are different parts of the fix which work whether applied before or after a save game. That's precisely why I asked the question earlier 😕

There is a workaround in the very first post of this thread on how to get club name changes to show if the fix is applied after the save game is started.

I saw that, but when I try to open that file in Notepad (Windows 11) I get this (this is opening the Manchester United fmf file - I get similar when opening the Clubs fmf file:

It does not appear to be a text file in Windows 11 - looks the same in any notepad app or Word.

No need to keep the wrong folder, you can delete it. Are you sure that's the correct user data folder? The default folder isn't on OneDrive, but directly within the Documents folder.

Yes, that's where all of my mods and graphics etc. are. And I noticed there are fixes, for example the Premier League, Champions League, etc. It seems that the only problem I see is Man United is still Manchester UFC. Odd.

Edit: wait - I installed this during a save game. Do I need to start a new game for it to work? Though, as I mentioned, it does make the Premier League the Premier League, the Champions League has the correct name, etc.

You haven't installed it right because that's not the right path, check the opening post to see where it should go.

Oxford, just got promoted to the Champ league but my coaching staff is still pretty weak. My assistant coach has better ratings for judging current and potential abilities of players than my scout does.

When I scout a player, I get the opinion of my head scout. How can I get the opinion of my asst coach on this player?

I was trying out some wonderkids shortlists, and I found one that had the sls exstension: that imports with no problem. But I found a newer one with an fmf extension and that will not import.

Can FMT18 not import a shortlist in fmf format?

The size is 24,2 mb. Perhaps it was me who needed to upgrade, my version was quite old. Just in case, I upgraded my winrar to latest version and repacked the file, try now:

Interesting, thanks. The very latest version of WinRar does work with this. Oddly enough, the latest version of other compression programs that normally open everything will not open it. Also, the other apps will open all of the other files on Sortitoutsi.

I'm setting up my FM18/FMT18 with the graphics sets here, have already downloaded the metallic logos and face kits, and last thing is the SS Kits. I hit the download link and nothing happens except it takes me to a SS kit forum.

So I am here:

Missed the last couple of versions of FM (been playing since it was CM 01!) and picked up FM18/FMT18. I'm starting with FM18 to get back into the flow before getting back into the full FM18.

Question: What are the editor/add on files that are considered "must have" this year? I'm not sure which competitions are misnamed and where SI had licenses and doesn't have licenses this version. I primarily play England lower leagues up through Premier League.

FMT 2018: While in a match, when I go to the tactics screen, the default view for the players is " condition." I made a custom view which also show the current and potential abilities and saved it. However, when I go back to the match then back to tactics, it reverts to the "Condition" view (and the new view is not on the dropdown menu.) I have to go to "Custom" then "Import View" then select my preferred view.

How can I make my customized view the default view when going into the tactics screen during a match?

OK, something I have obviously screwed up. Installed the kits for all of the English leagues (Premiere through Blue Square.) Also installed the Metallic Logos.

FM 13, latest patch, Steam version.

Logos and Kits for all of the other leagues show up perfectly. But neither the logos nor the kits show up for the Premiere League. Double checked folders, etc. (I install these for every version of FM, so this isn't my first time.) Can't find anything wrong. Also installed the new kits_colour_changes files when this happened, but it did not correct the problem.

Expert help needed here, please! What would cause both the Metallic Logos as well as the new Kits to display for every league except the Premiere League? What's odd is that both the Metallic Logos and the Kits from here all are working for all other leagues - ONLY the Premiere League is using the stock default logos and kits. It's as if some type of config file for the Premiere League is wrong???

EDIT: I'm an idiot. Done this many times before, but forgot to install them in the DOCUMENTS/Sports Interactive folder rather than the Steam Sports Interactive folder. Duh. (Not sure why the other leagues worked though.)

And since I have installed a lot of things and not sure how to get back to the original install to start over - yeah, even forgot to do a backup of the folders - time to uninstall the game and reinstall and start over! Duh!

Hmmm. Downloaded, extracted, the numbers are right, but the Premiere League logos don't show up. All the other league logos (e.g. League 1, etc.) do show up. Any idea?

EDIT: Idiot time, installed in the game folder and not the Documents/Sports Interactive folder. Duh
