I think I have worked it out for those that are interested. 

I suspect (and hope) that UEFA have given this some thought and will release a variation of the sorting rules upon rolling out the new Champions League format as the current regulations are simply not suitable for a 'League Phase' comprising of teams that may or not play each other.

SI Games have no choice but to implement the current sorting rules as per Article 17 as any variations are not listed yet that I can see. The first sorting rule in the Champions League group stage (which seems to also apply to new format 'League Phase' on FM24) is of course head to head between teams on the same points and not goal difference and while this works seamlessly within a 4 team group structure, applying this to the the new format 'League Phase' is coming up with some rather unfair sorting!

So looking at my final 'League Phase' standing in the image, there are 6 teams who finished on 15 points. Chelsea played 2 teams from those 6, Stuttgart and Leverkusen, picking up a win and a draw. Leverkusen played Chelsea and Inter winning one and losing one. Stuttgart drew one. Porto and Athletic may have won more games in the 'League Phase' overall but played none of teams within this group of 6, so 0 points and Inter at the bottom after a hammering by Leverkusen.

Chelsea P2 W1 D1 - 4 points

Leverkusen P2 W1 L1 - 3 points 

Stuttgart P1 D1 - 1 point

FC Porto P0 - 0 points 

Atletico P0 - 0 points 

Inter P1 - 0 points (negative goal difference)

So as you can see sorting is currently being done between teams that have not played the same number of games; lets just hope that this is not how it will work in the actual real life competition and SI Games can just update the game once the varied rules are published.

Can someone please explain how my team Stuttgart have finished below Chelsea. According to the rules the first deciding factor is results between teams. I played Chelsea once in all comps this year in my last league phase game at Chelsea and drew 1-1. The only other time I have played them was a couple seasons prior where I lost to them in the CL league phase so I thought, is this rule taking into account all previous matches in Champions League history? But there is no reason I should be behind Leverkusen, never played them in CL and much better head to head in the Bundesliga and have better goal difference???

This has also happened to a friend of mine and between us we cannot work out why. Either we are not interpreting the rules correctly or this is an annoying glitch?

Sorry, me again…

Only 2400 has an edt folder within it for me. 2300, 2330 and 2340 have only a dbc and inc folder; for these ones do I just delete these two and replace with the new dbc and inc folders only?

 

So 

3 out 3 in for 2400 - dbc, edt and lnc

&

2 out 2 in for 2300, 2330 and 2340 - dbc and inc

 

Is that right?

 

Each folder also has a folder within it with the same number, underscore fm eg. '2400_fm’ which are the ones to leave I think?

 

Sorry for being so precious but I am host to an online game and the grief I will get if I mess this up…

The FM24 installation does not only have 2400 folders, but it also has the 2300, 2330 and 2340 folders. If you're carrying over a career for FM23, the FM24 licensing fix also needs to be installed in those 3 folders, not just the 2400 folder.

I am struggling to understand what additional fix files I need to add if bringing a 2023 save over to 2024. There does not appear to be anywhere new on that thread (I am aware that the issue is me, just confused, sorry)…

 

deleting the the dbc , edt and lnc folders from the 2300, 2330 & 2340 folders is what I thought you had to do every time anyway?

 

Was it only necessary to delete from 2400 on FM2023, is that what you mean? 

 

Many thanks to all those involved in putting this great patch together. As many have mentioned before essential download before starting a new game! 

 

PS. does an updated version of the fix get added the day before or on release usually?

Please can any of you smart people out there help me.

 

Have a network game with a mate in Bundesliga, just finishing up 2nd season. I am host and use the ‘Use Saturday & Wednesday Match Days’ option. This is working well and speeding things up for us; however, next year I will be in the Champions League, which has Tuesday/Wednesday match days in real life and he will likely be Europa League or the Europa Conference League which obviously has the Thursday match days. I am trying to avoid a situation next season where he is having to play Thursday and then Saturday. I do not know how this option will work next year, so question time please…

 

1. Can you untick this option mid save and if so, at what point will the scheduling be affected?
2. If I keep it on, what will happen with the scheduling next season please?

I presumed ''automatic rep'' gave me a reputation relative to the club I take over (Man Utd).

Regardless, I have a national rep; that can't be the reason, seriously every player drops to abysmal after a win?

I asked the captain re moral and he says; '' everyone is in good spirits''??

+ I have never been able to do a team meeting as always ''unsuitable'' in this save.

I not sure the morale pointers are actually reflecting what the actual moral is...no player has a PR telling me a reason...

Noticed this on a few other fan sites; since that little patch that installed from Steam the other day I am having real issues with team morale.

I also was never able (in my new save to introduce myself as manager; ''we can win the league'' and all that jazz...not since I was appointed; always ''not a suitable time''.

And the morale thing; winning games in pre season with good performances; ''delighted'', I say in team talks (all green responses), come out of match and 99 percent of only the first team are set to abysmal!!!

This has to be a bug, no?

Any thoughts; ladies/gents?

Noticed, on a few occasions players that have just signed at the start of the game e.g Altidore of Sunderland can be bought, club happy to accept an offer and player happy to move; this wouldn't happen though, no? Previous versions, the player/club would reject any such proposition, its against the rules anyway no?

Can anyone help?

thanks, i have now have real populated Germany, Japan and South Korea by deleting a few files that I read on another Forum.

I think China is only empty because there are not enough players on my database load up with 4 european leagues.

On a final note; can you see anything else in the screen shot that would indicate to you that another update file might not work that i have not noticed, for a similar reason.

Great pack; i have 1 problem though.

Everything else seems fine; i.e Champions Cup called Champions League, real media etc etc but the Germany team has never populated real players for some reason. coming to the end of the first season; Arsenal who are 5 points clear of me have never had Ozil, Podolski or Mertersacker called up - GERMANY team have always had fake players....

Any ideas, kinda killed my game as i thought it was sorted.
