I can't handle it. The game itself is superbly designed, feature filled etc. But it's slow, the match engine is horribly fucked and on a personal level I can derive no joy from playing the game any longer. I'm sure AFC will turn up to tell me how these problems are going to be fixed, but that's such shite and it always is. Thank god for the FM Beta this year, because it would have been a wasted purchase.

I can't get into a game as for me there is just too much to it now. Hopefully FMC will pull me in as i REALLY wanna enjoy the game again but not since a Hearts game on FM08 have i actually played the same career for any really length of time and that was around 9 seasons. I then left for Man Utd and got bored after half a season.

I wasnt going to get it this year after having management games from like Champ Man 98, but after seeing it for £20 I couldnt say no. Hopefully I can get into it though!

Tbh I felt this way about FM12 and played 11 til about February then bought 12.

I then went on to play one of my most enjoyable Careers with Rostock FC and Dortmund. Give it time.

The match engine is actually shocking. Goalkeepers tend to spill everything, and I had a shot which hit the post, the ball managed to become wedged in the post, which no-one apart from the striker could touch. Needs A LOT of fixes.

I'll give the beta a whirl tonight. Can't see myself buying the full game.

From what I've read full backs are constantly getting skinned too easily and resulting in crosses.

Overall I like it, but the main problem is the match engine.

Someone I know asked Miles on Twitter why so many goals were scored from crosses, his response was something along the lines of "Your players aren't good enough" but that's not right, we want to know that it will be sorted.

It doesn't matter how good your players are ffs, 90% of the goals ive conceded in one way or another come from a cross, though it is usually directly some may take a deflection of a player or hit the bar along the way etc. Though Franck doesn't seem to find it a problem...

Another thing i've noticed is the amount of long range shots that are flying in, against me of course.

I don't like it. Just played one match against my Everton Reserve squad and got beat 2-0 with both goals coming from George Green. The skin is horrible and I'm struggling to work my way around to find certain things.

I concede a huge number from set pieces/crosses. When a player gets in at the near/far post it results in a goal a lot of the time and that works both ways. There's also a huge number of disallowed goals. LB/RB's aren't effective and the 'keepers make stupid mistakes. I'm sure this will be tweaked though.

SO many issues in the new game needing to be fixed, ALL of them to do with the match engine.
Yet again the defending in the game (no matter how good your 'world class' defenders are) is painstakingly awful, goalkeepers handling is totally unrealistic, and in playing 10 games with Shakhtar, the crossbar has been hit 3 times in each match without fail.
Not to mention the amount of goals scored from long shots, inaccurate passing, and poor tackling.

I really hope SI fix these issues, otherwise I just can't see the point in even 'revamping' the match engine, if it's going to be worse than FM12.
After all, it's the match engine that determines your entire career enjoyment essentially.
