I've got a horrible feeling Romney is going to win.

It's a frightening thought. But I'm too busy being paralyzed by the fear of Obama winning.

Obama is a Muslim athiest is my personal favourite.

I like the 'Were the laughing stock of the world right now'. As id the US wasn't with Bush in charge and before that

Also I hate how Americans involve religion in everything. GOD IS GOING TO MAKE SURE ROMNEY WINS.

There are a few of those people everywhere, they're just more visible in the US because religion in general and evangelical Christianity in particular has a more prominent role in society there.

Well yeah I guess that was the point I was trying to make. Frustrates the shit out of me how so much of American society is dominated by religious beliefs due to its prominence.

I know Obama is with his faults, but he's truly the lesser of two evils. Romney.. he's just such a slimy arsehole who got rich (well, even richer) out of buying out companies and making them go broke. It would really say a lot about the values of some American voters if they chose him other a guy who worked as a community activist and became President despite coming from a less affluent background. Obama represents the American dream, whereas Romney represents your daddy paying for you to go to France as a missionary to avoid 'Nam.

Uncle Sam: while I detest Ludwig von Mises, Milton Friedman etc .. no wait, I detest the people that adore them and idolise them as gods, but still, I'm not economically right-wing, but I respect your ability to stick to your principles and vote Libertarian. The Republicans are so horrendously backwards on social issues that they need to either update or start to lose votes to the new electorate which emerges every four years.

Personally, I really hope Obama wins a second-term, simply to shut the Fox News/Tea Party bigots up. It'd be better for the US if the GOP became more classical liberal on most issues, while retaining an overall coat of sensible, paternalistic conservatism, similar to that of the British Conservatives. Currently, it does that those sort of people, but all the attention goes to the racist, homophobic, hypocritical hacks like Gingrich, Perry and Bachmann.

Anyway, who's up for the US Election All-Nighter? BBC coverage starts at 11:30 and goes through until 6am, so it's shorter than UK general election all-nighters that start at 10pm and (well in 2010) finish at 3:30pm.

wut?
Regardless, I think it's pretty silly for you to say you shouldn't vote for Romney over Obama because of his fortune or how he got rich or whatever. That kind of attitude is the second worst thing about American politics. it's why they voted for Bush. He was like the kind of guy you could have a beer with or whatever. It's dumb. It doesn't matter how someone got to the position they're in, it's what they're going to do when they're there.

On that note, I'd say the Democrats are still the winners. Though honestly it's hard to say how much by. They say a lot of encouraging things but seem unwilling to fight for them. The Republicans seem to just be saying the Democrats are bad and we'll do the opposite of what they do. Which they wouldn't they just want to win Ohio and Pennsylvania. That's the biggest problem with the Republicans, I don't think what they say balances up with that they do so I don't understand how someone could vote for them. The biggest problem with the Democrats is that they know what they want to do, but they won't do it for risk of alienating certain people. But Obama isn't going to have another term. If he gets in again, he should just fucking go for it.

He won't though. So I don't care who wins.

While not specifically staying up for the election, I'll probably have the TV on in the background as I have a lot of schoolwork that needs to be done before the deadline at 6 AM.

I would stay up, but I don't want to get back into a routine of sleeping at seven in the morning and waking up at three. Romney is going to storm it anyway.

So, just a head count. How many countries will stop supporting the US if Romney wins? If Obama wins?

Well it should be neither. The only place where their foreign policy beliefs differ is in the realm of rhetoric.

Obama and the DEA are going to come down with a massive sledgehammer on that.
