I'm determined to have the one going + the succession game and that's it. As staff members, we need to set an example.

I've already got plans to get a certain League Two team into the Premiership. It's in my careers section even though I haven't even bought the game.

I'm thinking about doing an A-League save. Maybe Perth Glory. Their coaching situation is always a mess.

Every year I say I'm going to do an MLS save, and I never do. The idea of starting with a mostly blank roster at New York City FC and some sweet, sweet petrodollars is tempting...

Will be interesting to see how you manage with that! For all I don't write much I think I'd struggle mentally to stick to one save, however knowing the rate that you play you may end up way, way into the future.

I'll probably have a Newcastle save, an English hero save, a network game and then probably pick up some of our challenges. No doubt I'll have a load of games in between where I make it to the middle of pre-season and get sick

Sounds good, fancy naming that League Two side! I'm the same, always fancy an MLS save but because I'm not up with the rules I just can't! May have to play around on the beta in ameria

Yeah I am criticised for the amount of saves I have but being staff this year around I best set an example I suppose! I'm sure I will have a couple saves on the go behind the scenes, probably take part in the monthly challenges on the site and then play a seperate fun game whilst only writing about the one career on this site. I do get a fair bit of time on the laptop so hopefully can fly through seasons again!

Look forward to the Newcastle and Hero saves!

Thinking about a couple of saves, one is looking at taking a Welsh Premier League side to Champions League glory and making the Welsh Prem one of the top leagues in the World.

or

Looking at taking Wisla Krakow to Champions League glory.

The Welsh save would be a brilliant one to bring here and give us to follow! Would take a lot of staying power at certain clubs to build them anywhere near a CL winning side before leaving and doing the same to another team to bring the league reputation up with it!

The clubs I typically find enjoyment with - Lokomotiv Moscow, Ajax, HSV, Bayer Leverkusen - didn't seem as enjoyable on FM14 for some reason. I ended up finding some new territory - PSV, Vitesse, and to a lesser extent, Swansea City. Never did get a game going with Swansea as they caught my eye not that long ago, after seeing them with the Prem in the first season when I was playing as Vitesse. I think it will be Sweansea that gets my attentions once the full game is released. I've been toying around in the beta and its awful tempting to get things rolling but would like some of the issues sorted out.

Yeah a few people have started careers already but I and a lot of others are awaiting until the full release to stop the bugs!

One thing to watch out for is with New York City and Orlando City not joining the league until 2015 if you start the save on the MLS start date that is January 2014 so you will just have a year of friendlies to start with

I enjoy seeing saves where the big teams are overhauled with English players!

Its hard to fight the temptation, I'm finding. Looking at the bugs and fixes SI has listed, hard to know if many of them would affect a game. But just feels safer to wait it out.

Why don't we start a update type thread so people who want to post about their career can without actually doing a story?

I presume like the one over on the SI forum? That is something I am probably going to do with my Welsh Save.

I'd imagine he means an 'on topic/off topic' thread that these forums used to have in the General Discussion section but the thread was scrapped (and doubt it would return anytime soon) because the careers section was suffering at the time.

Yeah, I used to like it as well and wouldn't mind it returning but would it 'damage' the careers section again though? That's the question that needs answered but it's defiantly worth 'bringing it back', just to see if the careers section would get 'damaged' again.

Wasn't it Skacel (when he was on the staff team) who decided that it was time to remove the thread from the site and have the 'on topic/off topic' thread no more? Well since he's no longer staff, is it time to perhaps bring it back, especially considering some members don't have the time to commit to a career?

I just thought theres probably other people like me, who don't like/or are just not great and writing proper stories, and a single thread where people can post small updates to keep people up to date would be good.

In my opinion the usual story makers will continue to make their stories and we will continue to read and enjoy them. But having an 'OT' thread gives many more other people (like myself) who are unable to really commit to just one save the chance to still share our games with everyone.

Problem with this sort of thread is that 1) it becomes a mess and 2) it becomes somewhere post anything related to FM as opposed to starting seperate discussions.

If there was such a thread it would have to be kept strictly about peoples current saves.

I'd rather see something custom and more organised.

Something more like a twitter feed, where people can share their current game with brief posts and screenshots as well as being able to reply to other peoples posts, but at the same time having the ability to follow specific people or keep a track of your own career within its own timeline.

This is the type of thing I was talking about. It allows people to share updates on the save they are playing without going into too much detail
