Rafael is a pretty solid defender, he could be a bit stronger but thats it. The only time we have problems down his flanks really when he's playing well is when he's gone forward, which is fine, because he's for my money the best right back going forward in the league. The more he plays the more he'll learn to sense when he should go forward and when he should defend, but he's only 22, that will come.

As for Smalling, that's your opinion, I disagree. I think he's already an excellent defender, certainly no worse than players that play regularly for either City or Chelsea (Lescott, Luiz, Cahill) and will only get better.

1) Zaba + Walker are better imo
2) Lescott doesn't play 'regularly'

Yeah, as I said, it's my opinion. Even if you don't personally think so he's in the debate, at least. And I know, but I haven't seen enough of Nastasic to really form an opinion, and Lescott's been first choice for a season odd.

FYI, Glen Johnson is the best right-back in the league right now.

He's been awesome all season.

I'm serious, he's easily been our second best player after Suarez. He just seems to have a bad reputation.

And you know what, I was lying, because he's been on the left for most of the season.

Johnson actually has been fantastic this season, anyone who says otherwise is idiotic. And to say he has been the best right back is always going to be debated but he's definitely been up there this year. He's been extremely solid defensively, something which people tend to ignore due to the misconception that he can't defend, and going forward he's been one of our biggest threats and is extremely unlucky not to have scored and only to have set up 1 goal so far this season

Also, I thought he was one of England's better players at the Euro's but people still seemed to be slating him which I couldn't understand.

Cause he scored an own goal innit. He was good at the euros and he has been good this season.

Rafael has been immense too, he's hardly put a foot wrong.

Think we should all agree Downing has been the best leftback this season.

I wouldn't be terribly against it, but the fact is that if he goes he won't be adequately replaced, If the money is right, let the man walk.

Would be happy to see Jenkinson replace him. It's not like we would be able to get someone better than Sagna (as he's one of the best). CJ25's is a decent young english player and gives a shit about Arsenal.

Shanghai Shenhua striker Didier Drogba is closing on a loan move to Juventus in January, according to ESPN sources.

Drogba, 34, who has been keeping fit by training with his old Chelsea team-mates, is unable to move before January 1 after his request to be made exempt from international transfer rules was rejected by FIFA.

However, the Ivorian is keen to maintain to maintain his fitness after the end of the Chinese season and, with the African Cup of Nations kicking off on January 19, could make an initial loan move to Serie A.

The Italian champions are believed to want him for longer and have offered Drogba a one-and-a-half-year contract until the end of the 2013-14 season, but the striker wants a deal until June 2015 if he is to leave China for good.

Juve are known to be on the lookout for a new striker and have been linked with moves for Luis Suarez and Edin Dzeko of late. However, they turned their attention to Drogba when they were alerted to problems resulting in Chairman Zhu Jun, a billionaire who owns 28.5% of the Shanghai club, threatening to stop paying the wages of Drogba and Nicolas Anelka unless he increased his stake to 70%.

CR7 started it all.

I'm fairly certain it was David Beckham with DB7. I know he used to sign his name with the number seven on autographs and he marketed it well so that the number seven was his thing. Until he moved to Real Madrid and started talking about 23 was the number he shared with Michael Jordan one of his "all time heroes". Snore.

I most enjoyed that moment because the cunt I went to school with had to bin all his DB7 shit he owned.
