Installation Instructions
1. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using Steam on Windows?
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. Although it is for an older version of FM, the steps are still the same. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.
This is what the MP folder should look like for the respective version of FM you're using:
Anything beyond the blue line is up to you and how you want to structure your folders.
The preferences should look like in the below screenshot:
To get them to look like this, navigate to your preferences on the welcome screen or by using the drop-down menu near the top right of the menu within your save game.
Choose the advanced tab (the blue square within the screenshot above) and select all from the drop-down menu on the right (the red square within the screenshot above).
Scroll down to the interface section near the middle of the list, where you are to make sure that:
• the “Use caching to decrease page loading times” box is unticked
• the “Reload skin when confirming changes in Preferences” box is ticked
After clicking confirm, it may take a few seconds or minutes for all the graphics to be loaded and you should now see all the graphics you have downloaded appear in your save game.
Once your skin is reloaded, you can re-tick the "Use Caching to Decrease Page Loading Time" button so that the splash screen at the start takes a lot less longer to load. However, the above process needs to be undertaken every time you add graphics to your game to ensure that the game "reads" them.
2. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using a Mac OS?
From FM20 onwards, there's been a substantial change to how Mac FM documents are stored. Previously the files would automatically go in the Documents folder here:
Users/YOUR Mac USERNAME/Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 202x
Now the files will instead appear in the following location:
Users/YOUR Mac USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 202x
By default this folder is hidden, so to access you need to do as follows:
Open Finder
Click ‘Go’ from the menubar
Press and hold down the ‘Option’ (Alt) key
This will bring up the ‘Library’, click to enter then go to ‘Application Support’ -> ‘Sports Interactive’ -> ‘Football Manager 202x -> graphics’ (create the last folder if necessary
Anything beyond this path line is up to you and how you want to structure your folders.

3. I don’t want to have the megapack in the default user data folder – can I place it elsewhere and how would I do so?
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.
The above step does not apply if you’re playing on Gamepass, in which case the user data location has to be the default one (i.e. Documents / Sports Interactive / Football Manager 202x)
It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
4. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using Gamepass?
If you're using Gamepass, then you have to use the default user data folder - point 4 above does not and can not apply to you.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.
Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.
These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.
Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The likelihood is that you've put the iconfaces in the faces folder, or used the wrong config file for each folder. As a result, the smaller images (in 25x18) are being upscaled to be displayed in the person's profile, hence the blurring. Re-install the update pack again, making sure you put the contents of each folder in the right place.
Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
To get them to show, you should individually download the cut-out faces that you want from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

Is that the way that your megapack folder is structured? If yes, then you need to move all the images from each folder into one main folder. For the 8.00 parts it should be straight-forward, but from 8.01 onward, you will be prompted to overwrite files - just say yes/ok.
Hope this helps

Works fine now!!thanks a lot for your help!!

Hi there. I've moved your post to this thread.
What program are you using to try and extract the file? I recommend Winrar.
Additionally, are you sure the whole file is being downloaded and not just part of it? I'm at work so can't confirm, but I believe the total file size should be just north of 7.5GB. Can you confirm this is the case?

I am using Winrar to extract the files but I think the problem maybe that Im not downloading the whole file.
mons
Have you cleared the cache or changed anything in the preferences? Did you modify the config at all or add some new graphics?
Then you'll have to make sure you download all the files...
EVILUTION8470
i use winrar always
mons
The chances are that either you somehow added the files not in the correct manner, or that there is something wrong with the files in the update pack.
To try and narrow down which of the above is the cause, can you tell me how you can tell that the files aren't working? For example, what is the situation with player faces which were being displayed previously? Do you get an empty space or the default "shadowed" face?
Also, how many images in total do you have in your megapack folder, and does it contain any sub-folders?
EVILUTION8470
Hi, i have 7.9 Gb of player faces.. before i added the latest file they all worked fine with the players faces, but now it is just a black blank. I have them as..documents, Sports interactive, Football Manager 2016, graphics, and then have faces, competitions, flags, kits, logos, trophies in their own files.
I downloaded the last file as i always do. Always wait to they dl fully. then extract with winrar to desktop, then add that file to the rest of the faces.. sometimes comes up which files you want to keep. Always keep the newer faces. No probs untill now.
Funny thing is and what i dont understand is every other file ect. logos, kits, badges are loading in.
mons
Which is why I'm suspecting it's an issue with the installation your end of the latest pack.
You refer to "sometimes comes up which files you want to keep" . If you're installing it right, the overwrite prompt should come up every time you install megapack update files; no exceptions.
Not sure I understand the "blank back" part, can you take a quick screenie and upload it? Also, in terms of megapack folder structure, you should have one folder and one folder only with ALL the images contained within - do you have an additional sub-folder perchance?
EVILUTION8470
I have my logos, kits, faces, badges, trophies in their own separate folders and then have these folders in a graphics folder. They all load in now except the faces, and this is the first time I have had a problem. These are how my faces now look. Tonight I also loaded 2015 back in to laptop and the same thing happens, I the thought ok I will download Man United pics again and try but same thing... I am puzzled as to how the other files work fine like the kits and logos.
mons
It is definitely an issue within the faces folder, hence why all the other graphics are appearing.
In terms of megapack folder structure, you should have one folder and one folder only with ALL the images contained within - do you have an additional sub-folder perchance? I know I asked this already but you didn't reply.
Can you also take a screenshot of the megapack folder structure? And how big is your config file?
EVILUTION8470
I have sent the pics requested. This is the way I have had my files for a few years now with out any problems. As you can see I have my folders inside of the graphics folder, not sure that is what you meant when talking about sub folders. the size of the con fig file is 11.7 Mb.. thanks
mons
I can see that you have images within this folder, which is fine.
a) How many images in total are in this folder?
b) Are there any additional folders within this above folder?
c) Can you find the image titled 5108390.png and tell me who he is?
d) Can you confirm that your preferences look like this?
EVILUTION8470
a) There is 171,534 images in this folder
b) There is no other folders inside this folder
C) Image 5108390.png is Wayne Rooney
d) My preferences is like yours ... Because of the number of files it used to take a couple of minutes or more to load the images but now it does not (Which tells me they are not loading)
mons
I have no idea at this point For them to have been working at one stage but now they don't, then there must have been some other file or files installed which are preventing the game from reading the files, but I can't tell from here.
I do have a suggestion, though, can you send me a PM?
EVILUTION8470
Sorry.PM?...do not understand

I wanted to download the FM 2015 Megapack for my game, and launched 7.00 torrent but it doesn't start. Is that because nobody's sharing it anymore, or i it my issue ?
Ty pals, and btw, i love the work you do for the FM family
mons
Hi there. Moved your thread to here
I suspect that there's not many people still seeding the 7.0 torrent. Still, there's no reason at all why you can't try to download the 8.0 one. The UIDs remain the same and the only difference is that you'll have a few extra images there which the game does not need. Essentially, there'll be no difference...
poubelleadresse
Hi,
Thank you for moving my thread. Didn't know that id were same, i'll download 8.00 then. Thank you for answer, and for your work
mons
No worries, you're welcome
Once you do so, I'd suggest that you download all the individual update packs, and apply them in order, so that you have everything as up-to-date as possible
poubelleadresse
Yup thank you sir, i'm a bit used to your facepacks, but had issues with my pc so had to reboot and lost all. But i'm backin business now, able to help RBL
Peter Musgaard Christensen
I'm trying to get the facepack working for FM 2008 (i'm having myself a retro game!). But no matter what i do, the faces won't show up. I have used the facepack for every FM-game, but now i'm having some trouble.
Funny enough, some of the players actually get the pictures from the facepack, so im kind of confused.
They are in this folder: C:\Users\Peter\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\graphics\faces and the box in FM that you have to untick is unticked.
I hope you can help.
mons
Hi there.
Up to FM08, the game could only display up to 50,000 lines. Anything past that point would be ignored. With this file containing over 170,000 images, that's over 120,000 images laying dormant.
Happily, there is a workaround. It's a bit unwieldy, but it does work. Create four folders (or however many you want, really) and divide the images into them. You will need to create a config file for each folder though; the config file is what makes the game "read" the images. You can find simple instructions on how to do so here.
It's a bit tricky when it comes to adding update packs in this case, but we'll worry about that later.
Hope this helps
Peter Musgaard Christensen
Thanks! I will try that later! The foldes will just need to have less than 50.000 files? Can i just name the folders "faces 1", "faces 2" and so on?
I have also moved my logo-pack (Metallic Logos Megapack) to the graphics folder. I bet i also have to make some new maps for these files or what? There is "only" 43.688 files in each folder, but i still have some trouble with some of the pictures, especially the german teams.
mons
You can name them Bob, Tony and Philip if you want to, it won't make a difference just as long as they're within the graphics folder
I'm not 100% sure about the Metallic logopack but I would think it follows the same convention of 50k or less images for FM08.
Peter Musgaard Christensen
Thank you so much for your help!! It worked!!
I created 9 folders and therefore 9 new config-files - one folder for the pictures starting with the number 1, one folder for the pictures starting with the number 2 and so on.
That way, i think it's easier for me to update the facepack.
I havent wen't further with the logo-pack.
mons
That's actually a brilliant and logical solution and it hadn't even crossed my mind; I'll make sure to keep it in mind for when (if?) anybody else has the same issue.
Hope you manage to solve the logo pack issue on the same lines perhaps, although I'm aware there's 4 or 5 folders for each category, so it may be a bit more complicated.
