There will likely be packs, hopefully Beast and others are willing to remake theirs, I'll be doing VNN and VNS again, it's all just going to take a bit of time with the new template, the resource archiver will likely help a lot as well once the game is released
Does that mean you're not planning to update current FM17 3D kits for FM18 bolid ?? That would be pity,if that's the case.
You got to see this year as transitional, when not many leagues will be done, but a lot of work will be done "under the hood". Kits (and packs) will progress at a slow pace simply because there are no templates and huge pile of done kits from which we can grab "repeatable elements". Obviously in this situation we can expect most of kit makers will do leagues which don't have kits at all, rather than remaking original kits (which are not that bad this year I noticed).
There's also a psychological blow for kit makers who can hardly find motivation to redo same packs which they already made.
In order to make many packs we have to start early, as soon as clubs start announcing their next season's kits in april / may - as we did. But this "reset" happened this year, we're now in November with 0 kits made. So it's kind of a lost year and it's realistic to expect that recreating same packs we did for FM17 will again take months, and by then clubs will start to announce new kits and we'll all turn to new season.
It's a kick in the teeth for now but once the switch is made kits should look a lot better people are going to have to work out the new template which will take time, and working to a larger size is a challenge as some of the images of sponsors etc. are no longer big enough, which is a bigger problem the further down leagues you go as people will have to make sponsor logos from scratch
Just so you know, 512x512 still works, in case you have some hard case of sponsor logo unavailability
The shirt area in that case is even smaller than on FM17 layout :-P

My thoughts exactly. Take this year as a write off and any kits made will only really be practice for next year. We’ve lost 100s of hours work (if you’re looking at it from an FM18 point of view) & 100s of templates have become guides at best. Most of what I make is included in the game anyway and it tbh I probably won’t even be buying FM18 until sometime in the new year. I’ll be interested to see the quality of the pre-packed kits once the resource archiver is released.
I like to play with "traditional/historical" kits in my games and actually take the advertising etc of the 3D kits and had a huge collection of previous kits from which I could populate leagues with "classic" kits.
Would it be possible to produce templates without advertising and fancy detail? ie. all white, white with black shorts/navy shorts, black and white stripes with black shorts/white shorts etc.
Would be great to start building a basics kit library again :-)

I appreciate the comments guys and understand the timing issue,I guess that's the problem with the dates that FM is released and much more so with FM18 because of the new graphics engine. Hopefully we'll see a few packs but I can fully understand the requirement to start again when the new season kits are announced soon after this season's kits are completed ! That situation will ease if Si assures us that they won't make a fundamental change to the graphics for FM19 !!
Just played Dinamo v Hajduk kits worked perfectly, wondeful effort, ive also deleted all the previous 17 kits, I take it thats why everything looked shit?

Just a first 'beta' version of kits after a lot of tries. I think we are too close to the real template but in order to start making massive kits we must wait for the game be released, so we can see the game files. until then.....

We'll see after I'm done with Croatian leagues and English lvl 7 what to do next. Hopefully more people will step in and start making kits by then

I made a simple template for myself, it shouldn't be very difficult for a person with basic photoshop skills to create simple kits:

hehehehe keep those kits rolling

the EPL kits aren't included in the game,
Sports Interactive don't have a license for that league (only Watford)
