1. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using Steam on Windows?
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. Although it is for an older version of FM, the steps are still the same. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.
This is what the MP folder should look like for the respective version of FM you're using:
Anything beyond the blue line is up to you and how you want to structure your folders.
The preferences should look like in the below screenshot:
To get them to look like this, navigate to your preferences on the welcome screen or by using the drop-down menu near the top right of the menu within your save game.
Choose the advanced tab (the blue square within the screenshot above) and select all from the drop-down menu on the right (the red square within the screenshot above).
Scroll down to the interface section near the middle of the list, where you are to make sure that:
• the “Use caching to decrease page loading times” box is unticked
• the “Reload skin when confirming changes in Preferences” box is ticked
After clicking confirm, it may take a few seconds or minutes for all the graphics to be loaded and you should now see all the graphics you have downloaded appear in your save game.
Once your skin is reloaded, you can re-tick the "Use Caching to Decrease Page Loading Time" button so that the splash screen at the start takes a lot less longer to load. However, the above process needs to be undertaken every time you add graphics to your game to ensure that the game "reads" them.
2. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using a Mac OS?
From FM20 onwards, there's been a substantial change to how Mac FM documents are stored. Previously the files would automatically go in the Documents folder here:
Users/YOUR Mac USERNAME/Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 202x
Now the files will instead appear in the following location:
Users/YOUR Mac USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 202x
By default this folder is hidden, so to access you need to do as follows:
Open Finder
Click ‘Go’ from the menubar
Press and hold down the ‘Option’ (Alt) key
This will bring up the ‘Library’, click to enter then go to ‘Application Support’ -> ‘Sports Interactive’ -> ‘Football Manager 202x -> graphics’ (create the last folder if necessary
Anything beyond this path line is up to you and how you want to structure your folders.

3. I don’t want to have the megapack in the default user data folder – can I place it elsewhere and how would I do so?
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.
The above step does not apply if you’re playing on Gamepass, in which case the user data location has to be the default one (i.e. Documents / Sports Interactive / Football Manager 202x)
It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
4. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using Gamepass?
If you're using Gamepass, then you have to use the default user data folder - point 4 above does not and can not apply to you.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.
Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.
These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.
Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The likelihood is that you've put the iconfaces in the faces folder, or used the wrong config file for each folder. As a result, the smaller images (in 25x18) are being upscaled to be displayed in the person's profile, hence the blurring. Re-install the update pack again, making sure you put the contents of each folder in the right place.
Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
To get them to show, you should individually download the cut-out faces that you want from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

Fair enough. i understand what you mean now, but I wasn't following earlier. Apologies for wasting your time.

No apologies needed, as you managed to solve it before I even saw any of your replies 🙂

yes, my question is: i have installed the 2024 version for faces, do i download the 2025 and then replace the files in windows file explorer or i simply delete the 2024 version and copy the 2025?
mons
Going by your download history, you haven't downloaded all the 2024 update packs.
So I would suggest deleting your current folder, and installing the full 2025 pack (and not the smaller update pack).
Sinski
Ok I finally downloaded the 2025 pack as suggested and deleted my previous installed files. I now get all the icon faces but still not the main ones and still show a blank space where the face should be. Any ideas?
Sinski
Don't worry about this now. Seem to have found the problem and have them working now.

I'm on Mac and am using the Unarchiver to process the face pack. Right when it is about to finish extracting, the Unarchiver crashes and the rar download is left unchanged. Tried it twice, took around 45min each time and didn't work. Any suggestions? Think it's the file or the Unarchiver program as the issue? Appreciate your help!
mons
Use Winrar 👍
Connor16
Thank you, I couldn't find a Mac version though? I've tried 4 different extracting programs, from Unarchiver to Keka. Each has failed to extract the rar file. Keka is the only one that gave me an error message, but it doesn't make sense as I have enough storage space and it never said there was a permission issue.
Connor16
I was able to download the kit and logo packs and install them perfectly fine, not sure what the issue is with the cutout face pack here. Every attempt at rar extraction has crashed.
Connor16
Nvm lads I got it all up and running. Great pack!

Hey mate, I am having the same issues on mac. What did you do to fix it?
mons
Use Winrar 👍 There is a Mac version.

I realized I needed more space to extract the file, because extracting it creates a new file. I'm probably off on the exact technical specifics, but to download and extract the 13gb file, you need like 26gb of space. So I went in and cleared a bunch of space on my hard drive. The biggest thing was deleting the partially-extracted files of the cutout pack in my fm 24 graphics folder (the ones that failed to fully extract are still on your drive, you have to delete them before trying again). Once I deleted those partial extractions and cleared other things I didn't need on my drive, and had like 35gb of space, it worked fine. I used Keka instead of the Uninstaller because it had way faster extraction speed (15min vs 45min), and was easier to select the extraction location (directly to the graphics folder). It's $5 on the app store. Hope this helps!
kayaesmer
Thanks for the detailed response. I have tried keka, but it just freezes at ¾ of the way through. I have over 1tb free space, so that's not the issue. I even tried using WinRAR on my old computer, and it still crashes. I have re downloaded the torrent, and it is still not working. GRRR

I have noticed some players without images in game however when I check the config file using their unique id there is an entry for them eg
2000217978 but no image in my facepack
I have added the missing image/s I have found manually
my question is have I ballesed up an update somewhere, and is there a way to find how many images might be missing
this is the details of the faces folder-[it should have 480,827 images]
there seems to be 16k+ images missing so I may just do a fresh install, but looking at my timeline I seem to have updated the pack and not missed anything, no big deal but I have must have messed up somewhere
kingrobbo
I have done a full install now, still a couple of issues-
players I had to manually update an image to included 2000288694/ 2000257651
I searched the new faces file using those IDs and again found only config entries -[no image/s were shown for either entry
however when I manually added those missing images I got a message saying -
mons
@kingrobbo, I can't tell what you've done wrong - but it seems you must have missed around 4 or 5 packs with all those missing images. The images in question are both in the files of the update pack they're contained in, and the config also includes them.
Qvordrup
@kingrobbo The most appropriate cause of action is to delete what you have and download and apply the most recent complete pack 👍
kingrobbo
Hi
yes mate as said that is what I did a total full install
kingrobbo
Hi mate
yes lots of images missing I have gone back to the download history and cant see how,I downloaded the full pack 4.11 and have updated everyone since then
but never mind I have done a full install
cheers

I recently added the update packs for the faces, and that caused about 80% of all faces to stop showing at all. So I deleted all the updates and previous files, and started anew with the 25.00, but the faces are still not showing up.
And yet when I check the folder the images are there, and when I check the config file they are properly mapped, but no matter how much I reload the skin, all of the regen faces work fine, but only a few of the real faces appear. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Hey hab ne Frage, kommt demnächst ein neues update?
mons
Do you get a blank space, or the default silhouette?
when you have a blank space instead of a cut-out, it means there is a config file pointing to a folder in which an image with that UID is not present. This generally happens when an update pack is installed in a separate folder and not part of the overall faces folder, or there is a rogue config files somewhere.
Can you make a search in the graphics folder of the UID of a person who's not showing in your game?
Before you take a screenshot, can you sort the results in the manner outlined below?
This can be achieved by posting the UID in the red circle, choosing the view tab via the blue circle, the details option in the black circle and making sure the folder column in the green circle is long enough to display the full path.
When you run the search, can you change the below search options?
This will help me see if there is one or more other folders in your user data folder which contains one or more other facepacks, and where that image is coming from within your files…
This is an English-language forum, please post in English 👍

Hi, Im having an issue extracting from winRAR (also tried 7zip).. for some reason its taking ALOT longer than usual. iv used this torrent file before and had no problems originally now im having to start fresh due to needing a new pc and the first time i left it extracting over night only to come back to it the next day still going and saying 200+ hours left till extraction, iv tried a couple more times and from the off it slows down gradually increasing time to extract.
iv got a new motherboard, improved graphics card, better RAM, and a 1tb HD so i dont understand the issue? as it ran fine on my older set

I have the same problem, were you able to solve it?
Marie Barraclough
I wouldn't say i solved it but i googled a couple of tricks and not sure it helped or not but it sped up the process.. (if it had anything to do with it ) i went into my system settings and knocking down the processor state under power management to 99% and also right clicking the RAR folder file and clicking the unblock box. My first extraction was still abit slow but i don't think i did said above before hand. the big face pack file however ended up extracting in about an hour which was a big improvement..

I am having great difficulty trying to download sortitoutsi_cutout_megapack_2025.01_changes.rar. Is it possible to upload the download files to the usual sources like mediafire or getfile? I just keep getting blacklisted or blocked messages from dfiles and depositfile.

Hi, I've been trying to add faces in manually but they keep saving as WEBP files rather than PNG, is there any way to fix this?

What method are you using to add the faces?
