We've already spoken about the need to only keep 2-3 pixels between the top of the head/hair and the top of the cut, and likewise for the bottom of the chin/facial hair and the bottom of the cut. We also generally need to have a bit of collar in each cut as well.
In cases where the source doesn't appear to allow the inclusion of a collar and the small space indicated above, have a look at this post, which displays a simple technique of how to cut close to the chin and still display a bit of the collar
