This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, do NOT apply in FM Touch or in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2020 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed, such as Champions League, Europa League and Premier League displaying instead of EURO Cup, EURO Vase and Premier Division respectively. It will also fix the fact that the German and Japanese National teams don't call up real players and that the Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach managers have fake names. These are all fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for Brazilian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian (including Juventus) and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Brazilian clubs' text colours are also changed through an editor data file. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

This should be what your editor data folder looks like now. There may initially be a config.xml file in this folder and it can be safely overwritten; it is generated by FM every time the game starts.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, Japanese national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not immediately. Do keep in mind that this file does not add Japan-based players, who are not in the official database and will need a third-party add-on to be created and added.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.

You can find these folders by clicking, in the Finder, the Go menu in the menu bar, then choose Go to Folder and type the folder path name (obviously inserting your username), then click Go.
You can get to the Library folder by simply selecting Go from the top bar and holding "alt" key - The Library folder suddenly appears on the drop down
For Mac Lion users, the Library folder will be hidden. Use this link to find out how to show it.
For those struggling to find the Steam and Steam Apps folder etc using Mac with the new OS High Sierra, this link below shows how you can unhide your Library folder which will then let you find the other folders.

Please take the time to read the post properly:
"If you think all is in order but it's still not working, then please give me screenshots of the above folders."
Quaresma_77
Thanks for the great work as usual.
Do you know how Juve's stadium and training facility name can be changed in FM Touch? It still appears as Zebre stadium and Zebre training facility.
mons
I'm afraid I don't think it's possible
DemonSoul
Is the Brazilian supposed to be like this??
mons
No, there's a screenshot in the main post clearly demonstrating that is not the case. Make sure the dbc/permanent folder in 2000, 2001 and 2010 is the same as the screenshots in the main post BEFORE starting a new game.
DemonSoul
yup was on my part, i figured out
Little off topic, when is there going to be an update to data? I want mourinho at spurs
Dan
You realise you can just do this yourself by going into the editor, remove Poch and add mour, 2second job.
Fezbey
What I understand is if you have an existing saved game, and you apply the Names Fix, Juventus will remain Zebre?
If so, is there a workaround?
Thanks again
fabiognascimento
Can I change the stadium name of Juventus through the txt file?
I have changed the club name through the txt file (from Zebre to Juventus FC), but changing the stadium name (from Zebre Stadium to Allianz Stadium) is not working.
Could you help me?
mons
That's not something for this file really. I'm hopeful that when SI release their next hotfix/update, Mourinho will be calling the shots at the Tottenham Stadium
I'm afraid so. Try opening the City, Club and Stadium Names.lnc file and searching for the Juventus lines, and removing the # from before them. Should work like that.
mons
I have no idea why but that was my initial solution and it didn't work either. No idea why

This is my fault I'm sorry

Thanks for the others. It's too long for the short name unfortunately, so I had to improvise.
fabiognascimento
@mons did you change the name of Juventus stadium through another way? I mean, is there any solution to workaround it?
mons
I changed in the Juventus fixes editor data file included in this download, which must however be in place before starting a new game. As it stands, I know of no way the Juventus stadium can be changed via an lnc file.
Fezbey
Thank you, worked perfectly.

Thanks for these. Pity you couldn't have done the third division club names in a text file. I'm going to input them manually in the fmf file myself, which would have taken much less time if the changes were made in a text file.
Will change it accordingly
What problems?
That's the game database itself. If it needed to be deleted, I'd have said so. If you delete that folder, you delete the database and you can't play the game, which is not a very good idea

As far as I'm aware, the nature of this fix means that the changes are effected even if you aren't using English. Is this not the case or have I not understood you correctly?
Possibly an issue with the kit being restricted to a particular year and/or competition, but it's not really within the scope of this file.
Thewes
RB Salzburg, etc. are simply not taken over.
mons
Yes, but I then have to input them manually into my editor data and also into the club name changes lnc file too...
Re Salzburg name, I'm sorry but it's still not clear to me what you mean.
Thewes
Yes I know, I try to find a middle ground.
I have changed the names in the editor and changed them in the lnc file, but it still shows me the old name of the lnc file. At the 2nd teams and academy teams, the same.
Ant26587
Lol sorry I'm an idiot, thanks.
