SAGKRZealand Facepack - Regen Face Generator

Hey guys, thanks for this I downloaded already, it's great for my saves as the "Dolls Head" newgens kill my immersion.

Can I ask, does this download rectify the two main bugs? The Newgan won't load issue and the preserve issue? Or do we still need to use the little workarounds? If so, may be good to add that info here.

There are fixes available for both bugs. Can you tell me which ones you are having issues with and I'll post the fixes here.

I'm not having issues as I've already applied the Newgan won't load fix and I understand what I need to do in relation to removing the .png extensions from the config.xml to preserve existing faces. They were the two issues I came across.

I just thought if we know what the issues are it would be easier if we point people to the solutions from here. Cheers.

What a shame, the regen faces now look more natural than the faces of the top players! - But it's a great face pack.

Not the person you responded to but i have noticed that it isn't preserving the faces of the newgens that have already been added when adding more faces into the game properly e.g. I forgot to include my own players first time around and also have a few 17 year olds that didn't get done so went back and tried to add their faces using the preserve option but those that had been done before & i was trying to preserve had reverted back to the default FM ones.

if you could tell me how to do that properly this will be perfect

I think I also had the same bug, where I wanted to add in new faces while preserving a few regens whom I already replaced the faces of. So I included all the regens in the save and used the preserve option and I think what happened is that it basically did give real faces to the regens without them, but it reverted the faces of the regens already with real faces back to their regen face, rather than preserving them.

Just so I understand correctly, you need to repeat the process once for every new save? And for a new save, how long does it take the game to create regens -in other words how long do we need to wait before trying to install this pack?

For the preserve bug. A temp. fix was posted on FMbase until they are able to update the app. After you use the preserve option and the app finishes running, before you reload the skin, go to the config.xml file in the facepack's folder. Use replace all and replace ".png" with blank (leave the space empty). This will fix all the preserved faces. Now you can reload the skin and it should work.

Yeah I posted the fix on the Zealand boards and his discord. Both preserve and overwrite functions add ".png" to each record in the config.xml file. So if you use notepad++ and do a find/replace for .png with nothing in the replace field. Then save and close the file. Rest cache/skin in FM it'll work fine.

Apologies for bumping this thread up after almost a full month.

This works quite well with FM21. Does anybody know of a way to get it to work for FM20? I think all that we would need is a version of the SCRIPT FACES views that would be compatible with FM20: as long as we had the correct Unique IDs and the other information, I'm pretty sure everything else would work just fine. I've tried a few different things, but the face and skin color attributes are not searchable settings in FM20 (to my knowledge), and, of course, views are not compatible across versions...

Great job! Wish I knew this earlier. Back upped the config-file, tho. I was a bit sad I did something wrong and my players lost their faces, but their new faces are ok. I also made it work with staff. Just copied the folder and made a new profile for staff. Works good. Perhaps I can merge the configfiles, but not sure. So thats another 8gb more room on my drive. It has some buts.. like 17 year olds with big beards, but it does it job. And the every year or two doing the steps again is a bit tiresome, but its better than the regenfaces anyway. 

 

Edit: Ok. Cool. Just put staff into the same config by preserve + staff filter. Works great. Don't mind Staff have new faces anyway. 

Would love more pictures! Where do you get them? 

 

Edit 2: In an ideal world you want 1 face, 4 ages. I think that would be the next step, tho. I'vea 17 year old who looks like 25. Perhaps in 2030 😀 

I'm hoping they do an update with more faces. They repeat quite frequently after a season.

Did content change since the last 6 months?
