Installation Instructions
1. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using Steam on Windows?
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. Although it is for an older version of FM, the steps are still the same. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.
This is what the MP folder should look like for the respective version of FM you're using:
Anything beyond the blue line is up to you and how you want to structure your folders.
The preferences should look like in the below screenshot:
To get them to look like this, navigate to your preferences on the welcome screen or by using the drop-down menu near the top right of the menu within your save game.
Choose the advanced tab (the blue square within the screenshot above) and select all from the drop-down menu on the right (the red square within the screenshot above).
Scroll down to the interface section near the middle of the list, where you are to make sure that:
• the “Use caching to decrease page loading times” box is unticked
• the “Reload skin when confirming changes in Preferences” box is ticked
After clicking confirm, it may take a few seconds or minutes for all the graphics to be loaded and you should now see all the graphics you have downloaded appear in your save game.
Once your skin is reloaded, you can re-tick the "Use Caching to Decrease Page Loading Time" button so that the splash screen at the start takes a lot less longer to load. However, the above process needs to be undertaken every time you add graphics to your game to ensure that the game "reads" them.
2. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using a Mac OS?
From FM20 onwards, there's been a substantial change to how Mac FM documents are stored. Previously the files would automatically go in the Documents folder here:
Users/YOUR Mac USERNAME/Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 202x
Now the files will instead appear in the following location:
Users/YOUR Mac USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 202x
By default this folder is hidden, so to access you need to do as follows:
Open Finder
Click ‘Go’ from the menubar
Press and hold down the ‘Option’ (Alt) key
This will bring up the ‘Library’, click to enter then go to ‘Application Support’ -> ‘Sports Interactive’ -> ‘Football Manager 202x -> graphics’ (create the last folder if necessary
Anything beyond this path line is up to you and how you want to structure your folders.

3. I don’t want to have the megapack in the default user data folder – can I place it elsewhere and how would I do so?
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.
The above step does not apply if you’re playing on Gamepass, in which case the user data location has to be the default one (i.e. Documents / Sports Interactive / Football Manager 202x)
It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
4. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using Gamepass?
If you're using Gamepass, then you have to use the default user data folder - point 4 above does not and can not apply to you.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.
Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.
These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.
Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The likelihood is that you've put the iconfaces in the faces folder, or used the wrong config file for each folder. As a result, the smaller images (in 25x18) are being upscaled to be displayed in the person's profile, hence the blurring. Re-install the update pack again, making sure you put the contents of each folder in the right place.
Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
To get them to show, you should individually download the cut-out faces that you want from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

Does anyone know, what the unpacked size of the FM22 Megapack is? Im on Macbook btw
Stefan Rek
Hi, I've downloaded the file via torrent and I've run into a big problem. It takes an excessively long time to unpack the files (7+ hours) on my SSD. Is there a preferred way apart from WinRar to decompress the files?
mons
Extracting the filewill take a while, but it shouldn't take that long. To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can.

Face Megapack Part 13 of 17 missing
Can you please upload it again? Thanks!
jcwolf
The other download link works but takes a lot of time its slower but it works !
jcwolf
I found out that some faces are wrongly saved in transparency so they appear that way , fixed This keepers face and its ok now but there are a lot of them that are like this in my game..
Nexus85
How can I get the pictures for the Ajax staff to show?
mons
Read point 3 of this FAQ for an answer to this.
jcwolf
Well downloaded the torrent file and the same happened , some images a lot actually are just badly saved maybe with wrong transparency settings cause yesterday done that with this player above Vlachodimos and the picture after I saved it showed correctly , but there are far to many like this in lots of teams …
Maybe it is some settings I have but for some to show up and others don't it looks more like badly saved images than a problem on my side , it was to different downloads of this pack and in both the same result with the same players, it is fixable but its just a to big work for me to do it alone ….
Downloaded this pack other times before and its the first time it has any issue , it is weird and I can not figure out why but today after trying the Torrent file of this same pack i saw it was not either file corruption or any other issue than the pack having face images that are simply badly saved …
Thanks for reading cause no one really tried to help anyway …lol
mons
I'm not entirely sure what the issue could be. It's working perfectly fine for FM22, and it might well be related with how older versions of FM display some images. Perhaps try downloading an older torrent version for FM18 and see if that works for you 👍
jcwolf
Its what I am doing , but you should advise people in the pack download info that it will not work in older versions bud !
Thanks
mons
It's always worked before and it works for some people, so I don't know what the issue is. I recommend downloading the 10.0 torrent file and see if that works for you.
Dobispr00
Yeah i did change it and created a graphics folder too.
mons
Remove it from the steam installation folder and place it anywhere else. The default installation is Documents \ Sports Interactive \ Football Manager 2022 \ graphics, which is not the same as yours.
Dobispr00
Thank you it worked
jcwolf
Well 2017 download worked perfect at first install… Will Try out 2018 after I download it this only brings the thing that there was maybe some incompatibility when using 2022 in an older version of the game or at least 2017 version of it !
mons
The 22.0 torrent file was compressed in a way which I suspect has this effect on some images.
Here's a link to the FM18 version of the torrent. There should be no issues whatsoever with using it in FM17.
mons
I've updated the first post to make it a bit more user-friendly as it had grown somewhat unruly down the years. Should be a fair bit more clear now 👍

Luka Romero, Lazio, 2000032231 is not getting a facepack in the game, am I the only one having this problem? I have also tried to manually download his facepack, naming it with the correct number but when I put it in the facepack-folder with the other facepacks, nothing is happening.
He is very young, only 16 but also one of the biggest talents in the game so not sure why or if this has anything to do with it.
Anyone knows how I can fix this problem?
mons
You haven't installed an update pack correctly. Can I have a screenshot of your faces folder? How many folder and files do you have in there?
LOZONO1
I fixed it now, thank you!

Hi all, I'm having a problem getting the facepacks to work with FM2022; they just aren't displaying in the game. It's odd because the logos and kits are working fine and I obviously went through the same process.
The faces are in graphics/sortitoutsi then faces and iconfaces. Config files are definitely in both. I've tried deleting and reextracting the megapack, but nothing is displaying in game. I'm assuming as other graphics are working I must have done the preferences correctly?
It's through the Xbox Game Pass PC version, don't know if that makes any difference?
mons
Can I have a screenshot of the folder they're in, showing clearly the full path? Secondly can I have a screenshot of the faces folder, in which the amount of images therein is clearly shown? You should have 330k+ in there.
Qvordrup
Believe it or not but I sometimes open my FM16 to play a savegame that I'm rather fond of😀. I've always updated my faces without any problems (but it has been over a year since I last took a look at my FM16 save). But I've now run in to the same problem you (@jcwolf ) described. I've figured out what the problem is. The color mode is “wrong” on the pictures that shows up strange in older versions of the game. The color mode is set to “indexed color” and not “RBG color”. For some reason almost all of the icon faces are that way. I really think it is a shame that this beautiful pack is no longer compatible with older versions of fm (before fm21 i think). Perhaps there is an easy fix, perhaps it is something we just will have to accept 🤷♂️ .
@mons @Footygamer
Footygamer
A shit, that will most likely be due to the compression we did for the 2022.01 release.
Do you happen to have a copy anything pre 2022 you can test or simply download one of the smaller “changes” files and test individual images from there from 1-13.
We have kept all originals so can fix this if need be although my understanding of how RGB and indexed colour etc work is limited.
Footygamer
So the compression we used is thus: “converts 32-bit RGBA PNGs to 8-bit (or smaller) RGBA-palette PNGs”
It also includes something called “Floyd-Steinberg dithering” which I can disable if need be.
I have no idea what that means 😀
Qvordrup
@Footygamer I've done some investigation and here is what I've found:
There is a lot of indexed color pictures in the faces folder, but far from all. In the icon faces folder it is almost all that are indexed color. Despite searching online I've haven't found a way to search and identify indexed color picture within the folders (only way I can search is by manually looking at each picture in game). So I'm not going to spend hours and hours finding every indexed color picture😕.
I've come across another problem: some of the iconfaces that are indexed color have also lost there transparency.
some examples: 2002040995, 2001040995, 2000147332 (I've no idea of how big this problem is, as I have only done a small sample)
I've found a way to fix the conversion from indexed color to RGB in my own game: it is very easy to do in photoshop and I've set up a small “action” file so that photoshop converts all files in the folder(s) (batch function in photoshop) also them that are already RBG because I've not found a way to identify the indexed color files. This will properly take my computer a day or so to convert all 342.158 (x2) files, but all I have to do is use the batch function with the action and then just wait 😀.
That only leaves the problem with the iconfaces that have lost transparency. I have no solution to that.
