Has saving pictures been blocked

I use this site alot for my football app. Have you blocked saving images from website?

We have made changes which could have caused a problem but saving images shouldn't be an issue.

Can you explain what issue you're having and what you mean by using it for your app?

When you click on an image, it now sometimes sends you to the actual image, instead of displaying it like this

omg this has messed everything up is this going to be changed back i can not save pictures anymore.

I'm not entirely sure but I think this might be a bug with Google Chrome.

As a temporary workaround, click the “Save as type” dropdown that says “WEBP File”, and select “All Files”, then add “.png” at the end of the File name, like this:

thank you this works a good temporary fix, i do not think its a bug with chrome this normally happens on sites where they have copyrighted the image. 

When i save a  image then try to upload it the image doesnt load up 

Did this only start yesterday? I did make a change yesterday which may have affected that.

Yes started yesterday. was working ok then all of a sudden it started

Are you talking about the lightbox not loading or the webp issue. They are two different things and its not clear you're talking about them seperately.

I think both issues should be resolved now. You may need to clear your browser's cache.

Unfortunately the problem persists. Cannot download cutoff face or logo after finding in db. The one and only is webp. Can you fix it, to make PNG downloadable again?

Same for me. It's something strange with it.

Issue still persisting for me too (using Firefox).  Have cleared cache, to no avail.  This is so frustrating as I use this a hell of a lot to get missing player photos for my saves.

Can you reverse the change that you made?  That has clearly ‘broken’ the photo downloads somehow.

Guys can you try and be much clearer when reporting bugs with steps by steps and exact urls you're downloading these images from, I think i've been trying to fix completely the wrong thing because i've misunderstood where you're experiencing the issue.

For example:

Go to Wayne Rooney profile page: https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-2022/person/5108390/wayne-rooney 

Click on Wayne Rooney's face and save the image, the url it saves from is: https://sortitoutsi.b-cdn.net/uploads/face/5108390.png 

Hi Footygamer, yes apologies for not being clear enough, though the issue does seem to be fixed as of now anyway.

Basically, I always get my cutout photos via the ‘Search FM Database’ page, right clicking on each one I need and selecting ‘Save Image As’.  Yesterday they were all coming down as WEBP file types though, instead of the usual PNG.

Today however they are once again back to the normal PNG type, so many thanks for fixing this.  It's greatly appreciated.

@kevinrobm1 why do you do it that way, that seems quite long winded? Are the update packs not sufficient or viewing recently completed cuts?

Hi Footygamer, no it is not sufficient as I'm looking for a certain player's cutout. I don't need 300k faces in my game from the packs.

Yes, this is another possibility of downloading faces but then you have to enter ID in one step. Quite often there are 8 digits and it is not easy ro remember them correctly. Entering names instead is not a better solution as there can be more than one “John Brown”.

You can search for their club and then find them, takes like 2 seconds. As long as you don't have very limited disk space, you'll save yourself a lot of time by just downloading the full pack, but it's up to you…

It's possible we will revert back to webp and offer another option for downloading the original png. It's better to speed up the loading of pages generally for the majority of users than slow it down just to support the minority of users who are looking to download a single face occasionally.

Sad to hear this i am one of the minority i would love to have the full pack but it never lets me download the full pack as it says i do not have the disk space, so everyday i visit this site to download individual pictures it might sound sad but its fun for me when i start a save in a new league and i come to get the player faces off your site i understand your reason but please think about it before you do change things. Thanks Latrell.   

In general I think any sort of individual downloading should happen on the specific graphic pages such as this one or this one rather than the guide pages

This way people browsing the guides get the fastest loading times but people looking for raw graphics can find them in the graphics section.
