From Wayne Veysey at Goal.com:

It would be pretty damn exciting I reckon!
K3V0
Certainly has the potential to match what Arsenal had in the past when they were winning things.

You sure?
Fellaini has the potential to be as good as Vieira.
Wilshere has the potential to be as good as Fabregas.
Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain can definitely match or be better than Pires, Reyes or Ljungberg.

Not many are.
A mate of mine said Mourinho wanted rid of Mata, any news floating about that in Europe??

Thought as much.
Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis insists his club have the financial firepower to sign a player of Wayne Rooney's stature, hinting the Gunners are finally willing to revamp their much-maligned wage structure this summer.

Vieira is one of the greatest PL CM's ever. And he was partnered with either Petit or Gilberto - both World Cup winners.
Then on the wings Ljungberg and Pires both had phenomenal goalscoring records and were absolutely incredible during the whole invincible era. Overmars and Bergkamp were also very, very good players.
Henry probably occupies very similar spaces to Walcott as well, just on the the opposite side.

This would be fucking incredible if we pulled it off.
K3V0
Fellaini is 25, Walcott 24, Wilshere 21 and Chamberlin 19.
They're all young and still have a lot of potential.
K3V0
If I was Wenger I'd go after Fellaini, Benteke and Hummels.

BR.
K3V0
Well I don't think the side will be as good, but the midfield has that potential considering Walcott, Wilshere and Oxlade-Chamberlain are quite young. Shouldn't be going another few years without a trophy anyway!!
Obviously he isn't at that level now but in 4-5 years time under Wenger he could well be.
Obtuse
They said potential and they were right.
You mention those players as "absolutely incredible" but only call Bergkamp "very, very good" so it does invalidate your other opinions there as Bergkamp was a simply sublime player above most in the game.
Shola
25 and 24 isn't that young. Vieira and Henry had both won major international honours by that stage and Vieira was already a key man in a double winning side.
But yeah what TS said.
K3V0
They're certainly young enough to end up in 10 years time being looked back at as club legends.
As for major international honours or any honours, that really doesn't prove anything. I mean Ross Turnbull has the same amount of Champions League winners medals as Petr Čech, Peter Schmeichel and more than Gianluigi Buffon, yet you wouldn't say he's better.
It's pretty clear that Wilshere, Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain could become world class players for both Arsenal and England.

But I'm inclined to call bullshit on this one.

bluemoon.
It's probably true.

I have a feeling we will sign Rooney and I think he'd be perfect for us if we did.

This.

The Times said there was a possibility they triggered his release clause. While the Goal article was all "Goal.com understands" and "Goal sources reveal".
