Installation Instructions
1. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using Steam on Windows?
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. Although it is for an older version of FM, the steps are still the same. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.
This is what the MP folder should look like for the respective version of FM you're using:
Anything beyond the blue line is up to you and how you want to structure your folders.
The preferences should look like in the below screenshot:
To get them to look like this, navigate to your preferences on the welcome screen or by using the drop-down menu near the top right of the menu within your save game.
Choose the advanced tab (the blue square within the screenshot above) and select all from the drop-down menu on the right (the red square within the screenshot above).
Scroll down to the interface section near the middle of the list, where you are to make sure that:
• the “Use caching to decrease page loading times” box is unticked
• the “Reload skin when confirming changes in Preferences” box is ticked
After clicking confirm, it may take a few seconds or minutes for all the graphics to be loaded and you should now see all the graphics you have downloaded appear in your save game.
Once your skin is reloaded, you can re-tick the "Use Caching to Decrease Page Loading Time" button so that the splash screen at the start takes a lot less longer to load. However, the above process needs to be undertaken every time you add graphics to your game to ensure that the game "reads" them.
2. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using a Mac OS?
From FM20 onwards, there's been a substantial change to how Mac FM documents are stored. Previously the files would automatically go in the Documents folder here:
Users/YOUR Mac USERNAME/Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 202x
Now the files will instead appear in the following location:
Users/YOUR Mac USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 202x
By default this folder is hidden, so to access you need to do as follows:
Open Finder
Click ‘Go’ from the menubar
Press and hold down the ‘Option’ (Alt) key
This will bring up the ‘Library’, click to enter then go to ‘Application Support’ -> ‘Sports Interactive’ -> ‘Football Manager 202x -> graphics’ (create the last folder if necessary
Anything beyond this path line is up to you and how you want to structure your folders.

3. I don’t want to have the megapack in the default user data folder – can I place it elsewhere and how would I do so?
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.
The above step does not apply if you’re playing on Gamepass, in which case the user data location has to be the default one (i.e. Documents / Sports Interactive / Football Manager 202x)
It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
4. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using Gamepass?
If you're using Gamepass, then you have to use the default user data folder - point 4 above does not and can not apply to you.
Frequently Asked Questions
If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.
If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.
If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, starting with the oldest.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.
Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.
These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.
Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The likelihood is that you've put the iconfaces in the faces folder, or used the wrong config file for each folder. As a result, the smaller images (in 25x18) are being upscaled to be displayed in the person's profile, hence the blurring. Re-install the update pack again, making sure you put the contents of each folder in the right place.
Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
To get them to show, you should individually download the cut-out faces that you want from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

If you have all the split files in one folder (e.g. Downloads) and extract part 1, it will extract them all in one go.

Wonderfull, Done! Thank you so much

Apologies if this is a) a stupid question or b) a question that has been asked before, but -
While 99% of faces appear as they should, there are random people whose faces don't. I'm sure it's my mistake in how I've installed the facepack, but my question is - is there a way to manually add in specific people's faces without having to start the download/installation process again? And if so, how?
I've just started as Napoli for example and even though I'm sure his face is in the facepack, Victor Osimhen's face is not in my game. Anyone know how I can fix this?
Thanks.
mons
Hmm, strange. Perhaps you missed out on installing one or more update packs, or it might be the case you did not install them correctly. How many images in total do you have in your faces folder?
Also, can you make a search in the graphics folder of the following UID: 13158205 ? It's Osimhen's UID.
Before you take a screenshot, can you post the results in the manner outlined below?
This can be achieved by posting the UID in the red circle, choosing the view tab via the blue circle, the details option in the black circle and making sure the folder column in the green circle is long enough to display the full path.
This will help me see if there is one or more other folders in your user data folder which contains one or more other facepacks, and if Osimhen's image is actually in your files or not…
JamesDavies10
Thanks for the reply. Is this what you needed to see?
mons
Yep. You seem not to have that particular UID in your faces folder.
How many images in total do you have in your faces folder? Perhaps you missed out on installing one or more update packs, or it might be the case you did not install them correctly.

Hey Guys i downloaded the Mega Face Pack and also a Kits Pack but unfortunately nothing appears in the Game. I did all like the description in the guide but unfortunately neither the faces or kits appear in the game. I downloaded a Logo Pack and its working perfectly fine. I would appreciate if someone can help me. I attached some screens. The config files are in the folders.
mons
You've installed the graphics in the Steam folder, which is not the correct place for them. Have a look at the FAQ at the top of the other to see the right place to put them 👍
JamesDavies10
I've got 365,780 in there.
There's 378,397 in the 'iconfaces' folder, though. Would that suggest that I've missed one of the packs?
mons
Much more than 1. The total headcount right now is over 400k each.
I could try and find out which packs you've missed but it's easier for both of us if you just download the full pack, which you can easily do directly from the site given you're a premium member 😉
victors93
Ah yes that was my problem. I could fix it and everything is fine just the Manu Logo missing but i can fix that. Thank you 🙂
Lydia TrashCløwn
The page link for the “Dutch/French Images” FAQ links to the FM22 version of the namefix, I assume by now it is supposed to link to the FM23 version of the namefix?
mons
Yep, and I've now changed it 👍
Lydia TrashCløwn
I didn't notice this when I brought up the Dutch/French issue, but the "Ajax backroom staff" FAQ also links to FM22's namefix
mons
Fixed as well - thanks for the heads-up 🍻
Hopefully I'll remember to do that earlier for FM24!
JamesDavies10
Ah yes, that did the trick. Thank you very much!

Hey, was just wondering about if it was still possible to download full face packs from older games. I remember being able to go to archived packs and it would let me download full packs from older games, not too long ago. I wondered if this was still possible? I have downloaded all update files but they don't include every face. I'm looking for FM14, 19, 20 ones. I have a membership in case you were wondering.
mons
The FAQ titled I’m using a previous version of FM and some of the images aren’t displaying properly after I downloaded the 2022.0 torrent file contains links to the older torrent files. It depends on whether there are any seeds for them at this point in time…
danielhawthorne96
Thanks for that. If I was a bit more patient with myself I would've found that myself without having to rely on others haha, thanks. Is the ability to download older packs without the need of a torrent gone now though? And how comes?
mons
Was it previously available before?
danielhawthorne96
Yep. Around FM21 I believe. Used to be able to go on archived packs and the button was green as opposed to blue, meaning you could download the full pack instead of just the updates.

Firstly I realise this may not truly be a site support issue and if that is the case please accept my apologies and move this post to the appropriate area. I did carefully look at all the forum options and didn't see a better option than this one.
As the title says, my FM23 game won't load (gets stuck on “loading” screen and won't progress past that point) since I installed the FM23 cut out player faces facepack. I have tried twice now, unsuccessfully, to add this face pack. I have successfully added the FMG logos pack, and the game starts normally with that installed.
I am wondering if the way I have my “graphics” subfolder structured is causing an issue? I will attach screenshots and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I have tried removing the “cache” and “preferences” subfolders from the app data, and I have verified the game files via Steam. I have also had issues removing the facepack files from the FM23 graphics folder, as my machine gives me an error message telling me the file is open in another application and so it can't be moved/deleted. (Even though the FM23 process has been ended)
I'm running Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit. Not sure if it helps, but my processor specs are as follows: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4300U CPU @ 1.90GHz 2.49 GHz
Screencap of “graphics” folder, and “faces” subfolder therein:
(Those aren't empty folders, they do contain the image files)
Thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to read this.
*edit - grammar
AsteriskLFC
Feel like a bit of a tit now but I tried rebooting once more just because I was out of ideas and lo and behold, the game loads fine and all the faces and proper logos are there and working as they should.
Thanks to everyone who read my post. Mods, you can lock this now or delete it if you see fit. Back to trying to keep Wrexham in League One!

Hi, I've been using face pack with newgan faces for a while now. Recently I accidently generated faces for real players. I deleted the newgan config.xml which removed all the newgen faces (as expected) however instead of real players using the images in the sortitoutsi config.xml they now all have black silhouettes.
I've done all the cache reloading steps. Anyone know whats happening here? How do I get the game to ‘re-read’ the sortitoutsi config.xml?
mons
Can you explain a bit more clearly? Perhaps with screenshots and examples.
If you've changed the megapack config, you can always get the most recent config by downloading the most recent update pack. I'm afraid I haven't the foggiest how the newgan thing works, but if it's a config issue you'll have to remove its config and do it again from scratch, I suspect.
DTC
Ah I've figured it out now thanks, it seems FM only looks in the first folder it finds (alphabetically) in graphics/players. I had assumed it would loop through all the folders in this directory and apply each config one at a time.
I prefix the newgan folder with z_ and real players now have their faces again.
I guess to avoid this problem in the future I should merge both facepacks together and combine the config files.
mons
Absolutely not. Keep them separate!
MarsGupious
So I bought the premium subscription and tried to download the facepacks among a few other things. And i keep getting this issue of saying i don't have the source file. I've tried everything and I'm not really sure where to go from here other than not using them, but obviously i want to.
MarsGupious
please help
mons
Download Winrar to be able to extract the downloaded file.
It's the middle of the night mate, give us some time 😉
