What are everyone's thoughts on the new match day experience?

I don't mind the layout too much, thought I wish the widgets would remember me changing them and stay that way! The game pauses when you edit the widgets, wish it would do the same when making a sub because I need time to learn where everything is now and what to look at.

The more paranoid part of me thinks they are pushing out all the places custom graphics would go. Goalscorers and other alerts no longer show player faces, there is a cramped scoreboard top left with abbreviated club names that doesn't shows badges or kits. It is worrying because I like looking at these things, hence why I download them! Now there are less and less places they appear.

I know we are still in BETA and hopefully skinners can come in and improve this.

I really don't think the intention from SI is to disable custom graphics. However, you have to remember that a lot of people play FM without modding it up, and a lot of people don't manage in leagues/teams which are licenced. So if you're playing in Italy, for example, without the game being modded up, you'd see the default club and competition logos and the default dark face. So in order that this lack of licenced graphics is not shown up so starkly in these instances (especially when compared to the sleeker and more licenced ubiquitous FIFA graphics), I think SI are moving away from magnifying this by avoiding having to show them. For us modders, you can always download a skin to get these showing after a little while.

When a goal is scored I really miss the players face showing on the notification. We all get emotionally attached to our teams ;-) and I miss this face showing a lot.

Agreed. There are certain mods that I simply can’t get into the game without. We have the faces, backgrounds, kits and logos- just need a decent skin like Flut.
