@Footygamer Hi I purchased premium membership but I don't think I currently have access to premium content as I am trying to download the cut out facepack but cannot download it as 1 file. I also have not received my confirmation email

Hi! I purchased premium membership, and i have received the comfirmation email, should i wait for a few days for the activation? Last year i dont remember that i had to wait for it, i could download the facepacks instantly after the purchase.

@Footygamer got an email about my premium membership saying the following about my renewal:
The recent paypal payments for your premium subscription at sortitoutsi.net have been failing and if this continues then you will no longer have access to the variety of premium only features of the site.
Will it still go ahead or do I need to re-purchase?

just checked your shop orders and your account should have expired on the 27/3/21 but it is showing as still active so something isnt right,

@lboromark @kingrobbo There's a week of 8 days when paypal will try and keep taking the money, that's why it's expired but still active.
Lboromark is getting the emails during this period to let him know of the failures.
I'm afraid I can't tell you exactly why it's happening, it's usually because a bank account or credit card has expired or your balance on your account is too low.
Sometimes what happens is:
1st Jan - Attempts to take money not enough balance = failed
4th Jan - Attempt again, not enough balance = failed
8th Jan - Attempts again, not enough balance, uses backup balance e.g. bank account or credit card
So it may still work after the 8th day, but best to check your paypal account and see if there's any issues.
Sorry I can't help with more info about what the issue may be, for obvious reasons Paypal doesn't share info about your account with us 🙂

This restriction was added when a few months ago when a user whose profile had been dormant for a while and had only a handful of posts spammed the whole community with private messages of a very dubious nature. As a failsafe, this measure was added to prevent users who haven't been overly active from being able to do so again; I believe it's a 10 post minimum limit. This is your second post on these forums so you were caught up in this measure, inadvertently of course. Perhaps @Footygamer, the site owner and administrator, can design it so that premium members can be exempted from this restriction.
There will inevitably be a reason why things work in the way they do and you would do well to be a bit more patient. If you want to get in touch with someone, until Footygamer in a position to sort it out, perhaps you can tag them somewhere on the forum and ask them to PM you.

That was my whole point from the beginning.

Yes that's a fair point and was just an oversight on my part and one i'll change now.
I think your original post could have been phrased a little better as a helpful suggestion for how it could be improved, rather than assuming that we've done it intentionally for some nevarious reason.
The limit is only 2 comments, if a spammer posts publicly they get caught by mods very quickly, but if they're sending private messages they can get missed for hours or even days and cause alot of problems. It also has the side benefit of stopping newbies direct messaging individuals for help rather than asking for help publicly on the forums. Messaging individuals directly for help puts undue demands on individuals who have already put alot of time and effort into something.

First of all, love your work. Thanks for doing it. Small problem though - my PayPal account was charged in May 2021, even though I'm sure I turned off auto-renew. Either way, I don't have premium membership access and my shop orders page has no record of an order. Can you please issue me a refund and make sure this doesn't happen in May 2022? Cheers.

Hi there! I purchased membership last August during quarantine, but honestly forgot I had been subscribed. I was just recently charged two days ago for the yearly renewal and was wondering if it is possible to refund the payment and remove the membership? I appreciate the work you guys do here on the site but I really don't play FM enough anymore to justify the membership. I had sent an email to the address listed by paypal but never got a message back so just thought I'd post here as well.

You should be able to do this within Paypal.
I think the Paypal emails can be confusing sometimes and what happens is that you get the failed emails and then after a couple of attempts Paypal will automatically use one of your alternative payment methods on your account.
But I don't have control over exactly what Paypal does in this regards unfortunately. If it expires you can always sign up again 🙂
